Is the 2025 Toyota Tundra a good car?

Generally — the 2025 Toyota Tundra earns a 4/5 user rating and a 6.7/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Safety at 9/10.

Is the 2025 Toyota Tundra reliable?

Owners rate it 4/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2025 Tundra’s reliability case is helped by Toyota’s focus on safety and by the fact that the engine issue affecting 2022 to 2024 models has been fixed. The powertrain’s predictive reliability is described as trending upward, which is encouraging for used buyers.

If you’re shopping used, the main long-term ownership risk is making sure you buy a well-maintained example with a clean history and no unresolved mechanical issues.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Toyota Tundra?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 93.6% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re looking at a truck with higher mileage or heavy-use signs. Focus on seat comfort, cabin condition, and any evidence of hard towing or off-pavement use.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The SR5 sits just above the SR base model and adds a more upscale feel, while the TRD Rally Package brings yellow, orange, and red exterior accents, TRD design details, and synthetic leather upholstery with contrast stitching. It also adds 18-inch TRD off-road wheels, all-terrain tires, Bilstein shocks, skid plates, an electronically controlled locking rear differential, Multi-Terrain Select, Crawl Control, and Downhill Assist Control.
• Powertrain: The standard twin-turbo 3.4-liter i-Force V6 delivers strong everyday punch, and the available hybrid setup adds more power. The truck comes standard with rear-wheel drive, with four-wheel drive available, and uses a 10-speed automatic transmission.
• Safety package: Toyota Safety Sense 2.5 is standard and includes pre-collision system with pedestrian detection, adaptive cruise control, lane-departure warning, automated lane centering, automatic high beams, and traffic sign recognition. Blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are available starting with the SR5 trim.
• Infotainment: The standard setup includes an 8-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The TRD Rally Package test truck had a 14-inch screen, and upper trims can add features such as a head-up display and wireless phone charging.
• Fuel efficiency: The best fuel economy you can get is an EPA-estimated 22 mpg in combined driving.

Which 2025 Toyota Tundra trim should I buy?

The 2025 Toyota Tundra is offered in 2 trim levels: SR and SR5.

Here's the short version:

• SR: This is the entry point, and it makes sense if you want the Tundra’s core capability and standard wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto without paying for extra equipment.
• SR5: This is the best-value trim if you want a more complete truck, since it adds more available tech and is the starting point for blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert.

Toyota Safety Sense 2.5 is standard across the lineup, so you get the core driver-assistance suite no matter which trim you choose.

What is the 2025 Toyota Tundra's resale value?

The current average of $48,165 sits slightly below last year's $51,436.

That softer pricing suggests the market has become a bit more favorable for buyers, but it can also mean future sellers may need to price competitively to move a used Tundra. The current range still shows healthy demand, though, especially for trucks with strong equipment and clean histories.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2025 Toyota Tundra or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 37.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 93.6% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.36% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
• It adds new tech features, including an available massaging seat in upper trims and a retro TRD Rally Package.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $43,884, the 2024 costs less than the current year's $48,165 average.
• It emphasizes capability and personality, with a strong i-Force Max drivetrain.

The bottom line: If you want the newer truck with more tech and a better market position, the 2025 is the stronger all-around pick. If your priority is spending less up front, the 2024 is the better value path.
