Used 2025 Toyota Sequoia for Sale nearSanta Barbara, CA

How much does the 2025 Toyota Sequoia cost?

Prices have softened 7.78% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,368 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2025 Toyota Sequoia a good car?

Yes — the 2025 Toyota Sequoia earns a 4.5/5 user rating and a 5.5/10 expert rating. The model scores 8/10 across Look and feel and Technology.

It’s a full-size SUV that seats up to eight people, uses a hybrid powertrain, and is aimed at buyers who want towing strength and family-hauling capability. The 1794 Edition adds a more upscale, Texas-themed angle, while the broader lineup still centers on utility.

The trade-offs are clear: the Sequoia’s packaging limits make it less convincing as an all-around class leader, and the expert notes call out poor fuel economy, a cramped third row, and limited cargo space.

36.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which suggests there are still some attractive opportunities if you shop carefully.

Is the 2025 Toyota Sequoia reliable?

Owners rate it 4.5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The Sequoia’s hybrid setup and Toyota’s reputation for practical, durable family vehicles support its reliability case, and the expert evaluation emphasizes its strong towing ability and straightforward technology. The powertrain is described as muscular and capable, with quick acceleration and a terrific engine note, even if it is not tuned for great fuel economy.

Toyota also includes a broad set of standard driver-assistance features, which can help reduce day-to-day stress when you’re living with the vehicle. If you plan to keep one long term, the main ownership risk is that its truck-based packaging and fuel economy compromises may matter more over time than its mechanical strength.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Toyota Sequoia?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 95.5% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report and verify that the specific truck you’re considering has a clean maintenance record. A pre-purchase inspection is especially important if you plan to tow, since the Sequoia’s strengths are tied closely to heavy-duty use. Focus on cabin condition, third-row space, cargo-area wear, and signs that the suspension or brakes have been worked hard.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The 1794 Edition adds machined-finish 20-inch wheels, more exterior chrome, Saddle Tan leather upholstery, open pore American walnut wood trim, and all-weather floor mats, while the broader lineup includes SR5, Limited, Platinum, TRD Pro, and Capstone. The base setup is more utility-focused, so you should compare interior materials and equipment carefully if you want a more premium feel.
• Powertrain: The Sequoia uses an i-Force Max hybrid setup with a twin-turbocharged 3.4-liter V6, an electric motor, a 1.87-kilowatt-hour nickel metal hydride battery pack, and a 10-speed automatic transmission. It delivers strong output and quick acceleration, but the expert notes say it is about competitive power rather than good gas mileage.
• Safety package: Toyota Safety Sense 2.5 includes adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, lane-centering assist, and automatic high-beam headlights. Blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are also standard, though they are not part of the TSS 2.5 branding.
• Infotainment: The test vehicle had a 12.3-inch digital instrumentation panel and a 14-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, and the system also supports connected services, though many advanced functions depend on active subscriptions.
• Fuel efficiency: The expert notes say a 4WD Sequoia should average 20 mpg in combined driving, but the test vehicle averaged 16.2 mpg on the evaluation loop.

Which 2025 Toyota Sequoia trim should I buy?

The 2025 Toyota Sequoia is offered in 6 trim levels: SR5, Limited, Platinum, TRD Pro, Capstone, 1794 Edition.

Here's the short version:

• SR5: This is the entry point if you want the Sequoia’s core towing and family-hauling ability without paying for luxury extras. It makes the most sense if you care more about capability than upscale trim details.
• Limited: This is the trim to target if you want a better balance of equipment and value, since it should give you more comfort and convenience without pushing too far into luxury pricing.
• Platinum: This is the step up if you want a more premium cabin and a stronger feature set, and it also serves as the foundation for the 1794 Edition.
• TRD Pro: Choose this if you want the most rugged-looking version in the lineup and are drawn to the off-road-oriented hardware and styling cues.
• Capstone: This is the upscale choice if you want the most premium-feeling Sequoia in the lineup.
• 1794 Edition: This is the best fit if you want the most distinctive luxury flavor, with Saddle Tan leather, walnut trim, and a more special-issue personality.

Toyota Safety Sense 2.5 is standard across the lineup, along with blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Toyota Sequoia?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient.

• Deal availability: 36.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,368 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.78% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 95.5% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $70,661, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Toyota Sequoia's resale value?

The current average of $70,661 sits slightly below last year's $76,624.

That softer pricing can help you buy more carefully now, but it also means a future seller may face a market that has already adjusted downward. If you buy well and keep mileage and condition in check, you’ll be better positioned when it’s time to sell. The Sequoia’s strong towing identity and Toyota badge should still help it attract shoppers who need a full-size SUV with real capability.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2025 Toyota Sequoia safe?

The 2025 Sequoia has Toyota Safety Sense 2.5, which includes adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, lane-centering assist, and automatic high-beam headlights. Blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are also standard.

It earns a 5/10 safety score from our experts.

The lane-assist features can be intrusive, with false lane departure warnings and a lane keep assist system that can feel overly obvious in operation. If those systems bother you, you may want to test them carefully on your own drive before buying.

Should I buy a 2025 Toyota Sequoia or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 36.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 95.5% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.78% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 1794 Edition adds a new upscale, Texas-themed luxury angle to the lineup.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $65,450, the 2024 costs less than the current year's $70,661 average.
• The 2024 blends hybrid efficiency with strong towing and hauling power.

Consider the 2026 if:

• The 2026 adds broader trim refinement and standard power-folding third-row seats.

The bottom line: If you want the newest version with the 1794 Edition’s added luxury flavor and a softer market, the 2025 makes sense. If price is your top priority, the 2024 is the smarter value play. If you want to wait for a more refined setup, the 2026 is the better path.
