Is the 2025 Toyota Highlander a good car?

The 2025 Toyota Highlander stands out as a practical, comfort-focused midsize SUV rather than a flashy one. Toyota’s formula emphasizes a smooth ride, quiet refinement, and everyday usability, and that makes the Highlander appealing if you want a dependable family vehicle more than an engaging one.

It also brings useful modern equipment such as an 8-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Amazon Alexa, and Toyota Safety Sense. Cargo space is a major strength too, with up to 84.3 cubic feet available when the seats are folded, and the hybrid can deliver 35 mpg combined for shoppers who want better fuel economy.

The market reflects that appeal, with 33.7% of listings priced as good or great deals.

Is the 2025 Toyota Highlander reliable?

The 2025 Toyota Highlander has a strong reputation for reliability, safety, and economy. That combination helps explain why it remains appealing to buyers who want a dependable family vehicle with a proven ownership record.

Its comfort-first setup and everyday usability also support that reputation, since the Highlander is built to be easy to live with rather than demanding to own. For used buyers, that usually points to lower long-term ownership risk if you choose a well-kept example.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Toyota Highlander?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 92.7% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report and verify that the vehicle’s condition matches the listing photos and description. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection if you’re considering a higher-mileage example or one with incomplete service records. Focus on signs of wear in the interior, tires, brakes, and suspension so you can separate a clean, well-maintained SUV from one that has simply been cleaned up for sale.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Toyota Highlander?

This looks like a moderate market, so you can be selective without expecting deep bargain-bin pricing.

• Deal availability: 33.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,855 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.81% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 92.7% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $39,486, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Toyota Highlander's resale value?

The current average of $42,358 sits slightly below last year's $45,944.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled enough to improve your buying position now, but it also means future resale values may not be as strong as they were a year ago. If you buy carefully and keep the vehicle in clean condition, you should still be in a reasonable position when it’s time to sell. The key is to avoid overpaying today, since that will matter most when you eventually trade it in or list it privately.

Should I buy a 2025 Toyota Highlander or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 33.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 92.7% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.81% compared with last year.

The bottom line: The 2025 is the better pick if you want a well-priced, well-supported Highlander with strong inventory quality and a softer market than last year. If your priority is stretching your budget as far as possible, a nearby model year may still be worth comparing, but the 2025 gives you a strong balance of availability, condition, and pricing.
