Is the 2025 Subaru Legacy a good car?

The 2025 Subaru Legacy stands out as a practical, comfortable midsize sedan with standard all-wheel drive and a strong safety focus. It also offers Subaru’s DriverFocus distraction mitigation system as standard across all trims, along with EyeSight, adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, and lane keep assist.

For you, that means the Legacy makes the most sense if you want a calm daily driver with a clear emphasis on security and everyday usability rather than flash. Its standard AWD and relatively affordable used pricing help it appeal to shoppers who want a well-equipped sedan without paying top-tier prices. 34.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which suggests there are worthwhile opportunities if you shop carefully.

Is the 2025 Subaru Legacy reliable?

The 2025 Subaru Legacy’s appeal is built around standard AWD, comfort, and a long list of safety features, which gives it a clear and consistent identity. It is also described as a relatively affordable used buy compared with some rivals, which can make ownership feel more manageable.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about the model’s core formula and more about finding one that has been maintained well and hasn’t been worn down by age or mileage.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Subaru Legacy?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 89.4% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should prioritize a history report first, then focus on a thorough inspection of the body, cabin, and mechanical condition. Because this model’s value depends heavily on finding a clean example, pay close attention to signs of prior damage, uneven wear, and any evidence that the car has been neglected.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Subaru Legacy?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you have room to compare listings and wait for the right one.

• Deal availability: 34.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 889 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.13% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 89.4% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $27,547, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Subaru Legacy's resale value?

The current average of $27,608 sits slightly below last year's $28,500.

That price movement suggests the Legacy has softened enough to help you buy more carefully now, but it also means future resale may depend heavily on condition and mileage. If you plan to sell later, a clean history and strong maintenance record should matter a lot. For you, the current market points to a sedan that is easier to buy than it was a year ago, but not one that is likely to reward neglect.

Should I buy a 2025 Subaru Legacy or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 34.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 89.4% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.13% compared with last year.

The bottom line: The 2025 is the right pick if you want the most developed version of this Legacy formula, especially if standard AWD, safety content, and everyday comfort matter most to you. If you are more price-sensitive, a nearby model year may give you a lower entry point, but the 2025 remains the cleaner choice when you want the latest version of this long-running sedan’s strengths.
