Is the 2025 Porsche Taycan a good car?

The 2025 Porsche Taycan stands out because it blends Porsche’s performance-first character with the practicality of an electric luxury car. Buyers drawn to the badge and to sporty road manners will likely find that appeal more important than maximizing range.

For 2025, the Taycan received a mid-cycle refresh that brought an updated rear motor, larger battery packs, a new heat pump, increased DC fast-charging speeds, standard adaptive air suspension across all models, revised front and rear lighting signatures, and an updated user interface. The refresh also added the Turbo GT model and an available Weissach Package, while the base Taycan with the Performance Battery Plus now got up to 318 miles of range.

Even so, the Taycan still has some tradeoffs. The source describes range as merely average, and it notes that the car is more expensive than rivals. It also points out a lack of buttons and dials, which may matter to shoppers who prefer a more traditional cabin layout. 31.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so there is some room to shop selectively.

For used buyers, that means long-term ownership risk is less about the car’s core appeal and more about whether you are comfortable with premium EV complexity and upkeep.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Porsche Taycan?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 96.8% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a vehicle history report and verify that the car’s service records line up with its mileage and use. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that focuses on charging behavior, battery-related warnings, brake feel, and any signs of uneven wear or repair history. Because this is a premium EV, condition matters as much as mileage.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Porsche Taycan?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you stay disciplined.

• Deal availability: 31.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 312 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.35% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 96.8% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $112,143, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Porsche Taycan's resale value?

The current average of $114,133 sits slightly below last year's $125,910.

That decline suggests the market has moved in buyers’ favor, which can make it harder for a future seller to command top dollar unless the car is especially well kept. If you buy now, you may benefit from the softer pricing, but you should also expect resale value to depend heavily on condition, mileage, and how well the car is documented. For a premium EV like this, strong maintenance records and clean history will matter when it is time to sell.

Should I buy a 2025 Porsche Taycan or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 31.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 96.8% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.35% compared with last year.

The bottom line: The 2025 is the better pick if you want the refreshed Taycan experience, stronger charging and battery updates, and a market that is currently more favorable than last year. If your priority is simply getting into a Taycan at the lowest possible price, a nearby year may be worth comparing, but the 2025 makes the most sense when you want the updated package and can take advantage of the softer pricing.
