Used 2025 Mitsubishi Outlander for Sale nearMount Vernon, MO

How much does the 2025 Mitsubishi Outlander cost?

Prices have softened 14.38% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 2,320 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2025 Mitsubishi Outlander a good car?

The 2025 Mitsubishi Outlander earns a 6.67/10 expert rating.

The model scores 7/10 across Form and function, Cost effectiveness, Technology, and Safety.

The 2025 refresh adds new tech, a better sound system, and improved suspension tuning, which helps the Outlander feel more comfortable and more appealing than before. It still leans on small but welcome updates rather than a full redesign, and the overall package is strongest if you value a quiet cabin and comfort over outright driving excitement.

Cons: Potentially polarizing design and sluggish performance are the biggest trade-offs, and the cramped third row can limit family usefulness.

Good and great deals percentage: 39.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so there are still some worthwhile opportunities if you shop carefully.

Is the 2025 Mitsubishi Outlander reliable?

The 2025 Mitsubishi Outlander’s appeal is helped by its standard warranty coverage and the fact that Mitsubishi gives it a 10-year/100,000-mile limited powertrain warranty plus 2 years or 30,000 miles of free limited maintenance. That combination can reduce early ownership costs and make the vehicle easier to live with if you plan to keep it for a while.

The expert evaluation also points to a comfortable, quiet cabin and a suspension tune that was improved for 2025, which supports the idea that the Outlander is built more for everyday use than for hard driving. At the same time, the powertrain is unchanged and the performance remains sluggish, so long-term satisfaction may depend on whether you prioritize comfort and value over acceleration.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that the Outlander’s weaker performance and crowded-segment competition can make it feel less compelling as mileage adds up.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Mitsubishi Outlander?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 90.6% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a vehicle history report and verify that the specific listing matches the trim and equipment you want, especially if you care about the upgraded audio, driver-assistance features, or interior materials. A pre-purchase inspection is worth prioritizing because the Outlander’s value depends heavily on condition, and you’ll want to confirm that the cabin, electronics, and suspension all feel as expected. Focus on how the third row, ride quality, and interior wear line up with your needs.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base trim gives you the essentials, but the top SEL stands out with quilted leather seats, soft-touch surfaces, and Yamaha speaker faces in the doors. If you want the most upscale cabin, the SEL is the one to target.
• Powertrain: The Outlander uses a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine with 181 horsepower and 181 pound-feet of torque, paired with a CVT. The setup is smooth enough for daily use, but the powertrain is a weak point if you want brisk acceleration.
• Safety package: Base models include blind-spot monitoring, forward collision warning and automatic braking, rear cross-traffic alert, and rear emergency braking. You need to move up to the SE for adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, lane-departure prevention, and traffic sign recognition.
• Infotainment: Every Outlander gets a 12.3-inch infotainment screen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, plus USB-C ports and a wireless charging pad. Upper trims add a larger digital gauge cluster, and the top SEL can be equipped with a rear camera mirror and head-up display.
• Fuel efficiency: The gas model is rated at 26 miles per gallon combined, while the plug-in hybrid version is rated at 64 MPGe with 38 miles of all-electric range.

Which 2025 Mitsubishi Outlander trim should I buy?

The 2025 Mitsubishi Outlander is offered in 3 trim levels: ES, SE and SEL.

Here's the short version:

• ES: This is the entry point, and it gives you the core Outlander experience with the standard 12.3-inch infotainment screen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and the basic safety equipment. It makes sense if you want the lowest starting price and can live without the extra driver-assistance features.
• SE: This is the best-value trim because it adds adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, lane-departure prevention, and traffic sign recognition. If you want the most useful safety upgrades without jumping to the top trim, this is the one to focus on.
• SEL: This is the trim to choose if you want the most upscale cabin, with quilted leather seats, soft-touch surfaces, and the available premium audio and display upgrades. It suits you best if comfort and interior presentation matter more than price.

Mitsubishi notes that the base trim does not include the full suite of advanced driver-assistance features, so the SE is the key step up for safety equipment.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Mitsubishi Outlander?

The current market looks selective rather than overheated, so you have room to shop, but the best listings can still move quickly.

• Deal availability: 39.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,320 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.38% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 90.6% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $25,570, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Mitsubishi Outlander’s resale value?

The current average of $25,570 sits slightly below last year's $29,863.

That drop suggests the Outlander has already absorbed a meaningful amount of depreciation, which can be good news if you’re buying used. For a future seller, though, it means you should expect resale value to remain sensitive to mileage, trim, and condition.

Because the market has softened, a well-kept example with desirable equipment may hold up better than a higher-mileage or lightly equipped one. If you plan to resell later, buying at the right price now matters more than usual.

Is the 2025 Mitsubishi Outlander safe?

The 2025 Mitsubishi Outlander earns a four-star rating in rollover from NHTSA.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Mitsubishi does not make the full advanced driver-assistance suite standard on every trim. Base models get blind-spot monitoring, forward collision warning and automatic braking, rear cross-traffic alert, and rear emergency braking, while the SE adds adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, lane-departure prevention, and traffic sign recognition.

The IIHS gives the Outlander’s headlights a Good rating, but the broader safety picture is mixed because other current testing results are limited and front crash prevention was rated Poor. That caveat matters if safety is a top priority for you.

Should I buy a 2025 Mitsubishi Outlander or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 39.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 90.6% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.38% compared with last year.
• The 2025 refresh brings new tech, a better sound system, and improved suspension tuning, making it the more comfortable and better-equipped choice.

The bottom line: If you want the most up-to-date Outlander with the best mix of comfort, tech, and market pricing, the 2025 is the one to target. If you’re mainly shopping on price, a nearby model year may still make sense, but the 2025’s refresh gives you a stronger case for buying this version if you can find a well-priced listing.
