Used 2025 Jeep Wrangler 4xe for Sale nearBayonne, NJ

Is the 2025 Jeep Wrangler 4xe a good car?

Generally — 4/5 from users and 6.33/10 from expert testing, the 2025 Jeep Wrangler 4xe is a strong fit if you want a rugged, lifestyle-focused SUV rather than a polished commuter. The model scores 8/10 across Look and feel and Performance.

The 2025 Wrangler 4xe stands out for its plug-in hybrid powertrain and fun-to-drive character, and it also offers easy-to-use technology. The trade-offs are clear: it can be noisy, the interior materials feel cheap, and advanced safety features are not standard.

If you like the Wrangler’s rugged personality and can live with its rough edges, this year’s 4xe makes sense; if comfort and refinement matter more, you should look elsewhere. 44.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you a decent amount of market flexibility.

Is the 2025 Jeep Wrangler 4xe reliable?

Owners rate it 4/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction. The 2025 Wrangler 4xe is built around a plug-in hybrid setup that pairs a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder with two electric motors and a 17.3-kWh battery pack, and it’s designed to deliver electric-only driving for short trips while still functioning like a traditional Wrangler when needed.

The powertrain is described as capable of improving overall efficiency when you recharge regularly, and it can be especially useful for short local trips and daily use with overnight charging. Jeep also says the battery can recharge in 12 hours from a standard household outlet or in 2.5 hours with a Level 2 home charger.

If you use it the way it’s intended and keep up with charging, long-term ownership risk is more about living with Wrangler quirks than about the hybrid system itself.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Jeep Wrangler 4xe?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 92.7% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially because the Wrangler 4xe’s appeal depends heavily on condition and equipment. Pay close attention to how the top, cabin materials, and technology have held up, since this model is meant to be used hard and can show wear quickly.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Willys ’41 Special Edition adds exclusive ’41 paint, steel-style 17-inch wheels, a tan soft top, steel bumpers, 33-inch all-terrain tires, Heritage Tan cloth seats, and an Olive Drab dashboard insert. The cabin is otherwise standard Wrangler, so base-level simplicity and hard plastics remain part of the experience.
• Powertrain: The plug-in hybrid setup uses a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder plus two electric motors and a 17.3-kWh battery. It’s tuned for short electric-only driving and strong combined output, but it makes the most sense if you plug it in regularly.
• Safety package: Forward-collision warning and adaptive cruise control are standard on all trim levels. The optional Active Safety Group adds automatic high-beam headlights, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and rear parking sensors, but you must also buy the Convenience Group to get it.
• Infotainment: Every Wrangler 4xe comes with a 12.3-inch touchscreen and Uconnect 5, plus wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Navigation is not offered on the Willys ’41, and a wireless charger is not available.
• Fuel efficiency: Jeep says the Wrangler 4xe returns 20 mpg in combined driving once the battery is depleted, and it offers an estimated 21 miles of electric-only range.

Which 2025 Jeep Wrangler 4xe trim should I buy?

The 2025 Jeep Wrangler 4xe is offered in 7 trim levels: Sport S, Willys, Sahara, Willys ’41 Special Edition, Rubicon, Backcountry, and Rubicon X.

Here's the short version:

• Sport S: This is the entry point if you want the 4xe experience at the lowest price, but you should expect the fewest extras and the most basic Wrangler setup.
• Willys: This is the best-value choice for many buyers because it sits near the affordable end of the lineup while still giving you the core Wrangler 4xe formula without jumping too far up in price.
• Sahara: Choose this if you want a more comfort-leaning version of the Wrangler 4xe without moving all the way into the pricier specialty trims.
• Willys ’41 Special Edition: This is the style pick. It’s the one to buy if you want the heritage-themed look, exclusive interior touches, and the most distinctive appearance in the lineup.
• Rubicon: Pick this if you want the more capability-focused Wrangler 4xe experience and are willing to pay more for it.
• Backcountry: This is for buyers who want a more specialized, higher-priced version of the 4xe with a stronger adventure focus.
• Rubicon X: This is the top-end choice if you want the most expensive and most fully equipped version in the lineup.

The safety content also notes that the Active Safety Group is optional and requires the Convenience Group, so if driver-assistance features matter to you, make sure the trim and package combination you choose can actually include them.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Jeep Wrangler 4xe?

The market looks favorable for shoppers right now, with a healthy share of discounted listings and strong accident-free inventory.

Is the 2025 Jeep Wrangler 4xe safe?

The 2025 Wrangler 4xe earns a three-star rating for rollover resistance from NHTSA and a three-star rating in frontal impact protection. It also lacks a side-impact crash-test rating from NHTSA.

It earns a 3/10 safety score from our experts.

Forward-collision warning and adaptive cruise control are standard on all trim levels. The optional Active Safety Group adds automatic high-beam headlights, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and rear parking sensors, but Jeep requires the Convenience Group as well before it will add that package.

Safety is one of the Wrangler 4xe’s weakest areas, and the available driver-assistance tech is limited unless you pay for the right package combination.

Should I buy a 2025 Jeep Wrangler 4xe or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 44.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 92.7% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Owners rate it 4/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
• The 2025 Wrangler 4xe stands out most clearly in Willys ’41 Special Edition form, with exclusive heritage-inspired styling and a distinctive cabin and exterior treatment.

The bottom line: If you want the Wrangler 4xe’s plug-in hybrid setup and the year’s standout Willys ’41 Special Edition, the 2025 model is the one to target. If you’re mainly shopping on price, a nearby model year may be worth considering, but the 2025 still makes sense if you value the special-edition look and can find a well-priced example.
