How much does the 2025 Honda Pilot cost?

Prices have softened 5.19% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 4,352 listings available, which suggests solid inventory for shoppers comparing trims and prices.

Is the 2025 Honda Pilot a good car?

Yes — with a 4.91/5 user rating and a 6.5/10 expert rating, the 2025 Honda Pilot lands as a strong choice for shoppers who want a practical three-row SUV. The standout strength is Form and function at 9/10.

Drivers consistently praise the smooth ride, spacious interior, and plenty of cargo space, and they also like the comfortable seating and sense of security from the safety ratings. The trade-offs are familiar: the dash screen could be larger, and lower trims could use more luxury features.

That lines up with the Pilot’s use case as a roomy, easy-to-live-with family SUV that prioritizes everyday practicality over flash. It is especially appealing if you want a straightforward setup with plenty of passenger and cargo room.

Only 38.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so the market is somewhat selective even if the model itself is broadly appealing.

Is the 2025 Honda Pilot reliable?

Owners rate it 4.91/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience, with drivers highlighting the Pilot as a vehicle they feel good about living with over time. The expert evaluation also reinforces that sense of durability by describing it as easy to live with and well suited to daily family use.

Honda’s Service Pass coverage is limited to 12 months or 12,000 miles, so long-term ownership still depends on how well the vehicle has been maintained. For used buyers, that makes service records and condition especially important.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Honda Pilot?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 91.2% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you are considering a higher-mileage example or one with more equipment. Focus on overall condition, how the tech and driver-assist systems operate, and whether the cabin shows the kind of wear you would expect from family use.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Sport is affordable but light on amenities, while the EX-L is the recommended minimum upgrade if you want a more appealing feature set. The TrailSport adds added off-roading capability, and the Black Edition brings blacked-out exterior trim, black wheels, black badges, black leather seats, red perforation accents, red contrast stitching, and red ambient lighting.
• Powertrain: Every 2025 Pilot uses a 3.5-liter V6 with a 10-speed automatic transmission, making 285 horsepower and 262 pound-feet of torque. Front-wheel drive is standard, all-wheel drive is available, and AWD models add hill descent control, torque vectoring, and up to 7.3 inches of ground clearance, or 8.3 inches on the TrailSport.
• Safety package: Every version gets Honda Sensing with forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist, lane-centering assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and adaptive cruise control. Higher trims can add parking sensors and a multi-view camera system with TrailWatch technology.
• Infotainment: The Black Edition has a 10.2-inch digital gauge panel and a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system. It includes wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, SiriusXM satellite radio, text-messaging support, wireless smartphone charging, navigation, HondaLink subscription services, Wi-Fi access, and a 12-speaker Bose audio system.
• Fuel efficiency: The Pilot averaged 20 mpg on the evaluation loop and fell short of the official 21 mpg combined rating. City-heavy driving returned 17.8 mpg.

Which 2025 Honda Pilot trim should I buy?

The 2025 Honda Pilot is offered in 6 trim levels: Sport, EX-L, TrailSport, Touring, Elite, and Black Edition.

Here's the short version:

• Sport: This is the entry point, but it is also the least appealing if you want a richer ownership experience. It makes sense only if you are focused on keeping the purchase price down.
• EX-L: This is the best-value trim because it is the recommended minimum upgrade over the Sport and adds the kind of equipment that makes the Pilot feel more satisfying day to day.
• TrailSport: Choose this if you want the Pilot’s more rugged side, since it is the trim that adds off-roading capability.
• Touring: This is the better pick if you want a more upscale Pilot with more of the convenience and tech that higher-end shoppers expect.
• Elite: This trim is for buyers who want the more premium end of the lineup and are willing to pay for it.
• Black Edition: This is the top-of-the-line choice, with blacked-out styling, red interior accents, and the most distinctive appearance in the lineup.

Honda Sensing is standard across the lineup, so you do not need to move up a trim just to get the core safety suite.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Honda Pilot?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you have room to compare listings carefully without rushing.

• Deal availability: 38.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 4,352 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.19% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 91.2% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $42,028, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Honda Pilot's resale value?

The current average of $42,028 sits slightly below last year's $44,328.

That price movement suggests the Pilot has softened enough to create a better entry point for used buyers, but it also means future sellers may face a more competitive market if pricing stays under pressure. If you buy well now and keep the vehicle in strong condition, you may be better positioned than someone who paid closer to last year’s average.

The Pilot’s broad appeal as a family-friendly three-row SUV should help support demand, especially for clean examples with strong equipment and a good service history. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.91/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2025 Honda Pilot safe?

The 2025 Honda Pilot earns a Top Safety Pick+ rating from IIHS and a five-star overall rating from NHTSA.

It earns a 6/10 safety score from our experts.

Honda Sensing is standard on every version and includes forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist, lane-centering assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and adaptive cruise control. Higher trims can add parking sensors and a multi-view camera system with TrailWatch technology.

There are some caveats to keep in mind. The lane-centering assist system can feel artificial, and the adaptive cruise control showed some awkward behavior in traffic and on grades during testing. Road sign recognition also proved inaccurate at times.

Should I buy a 2025 Honda Pilot or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 38.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 91.2% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.19% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.91/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• Honda keeps the formula simple with one powertrain, available AWD, and the Black Edition returning for 2025.

Consider the 2026 if:

• It gets a more truck-like look while staying fundamentally the same.

The bottom line: If you want the better buying opportunity, the 2025 is the smarter path because prices have eased and inventory is healthy. If you are mainly shopping for the newest styling update and do not mind paying more, the 2026 is the alternative to watch.
