How much does the 2025 Honda Pilot cost?

Prices have softened 5.07% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 4,451 listings available, which suggests solid inventory availability for shoppers comparing trims and conditions.

Is the 2025 Honda Pilot a good car?

Yes — the 2025 Honda Pilot earns a 4.9/5 user rating and a 6.5/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Form and function at 9/10.

Drivers consistently praise the smooth ride, spacious interior, and plenty of cargo space. Comfortable seating and a strong sense of security from the safety ratings also come through as recurring positives.

The trade-offs are that the dash screen can feel too small and lower trims may leave you wanting more luxury features. That lines up with the Pilot’s practical, easy-to-live-with mission: it is built to be a roomy three-row family SUV rather than a flashy one.

With 39.3% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a decent number of market opportunities if you shop carefully.

Is the 2025 Honda Pilot reliable?

Owners rate it 4.9/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The user feedback points to a vehicle that feels reliable, dependable, and trouble-free over time, with owners especially appreciating the smooth ride and family-friendly usability. The expert evaluation also reinforces that sense of everyday dependability by describing the Pilot as easy to live with and practical for daily driving.

Honda’s Service Pass coverage is limited to 12 months or 12,000 miles, so your long-term ownership costs will depend more on routine maintenance and how well the vehicle was cared for before you buy. For used shoppers, that makes service records and condition history especially important.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Honda Pilot?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 90.2% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you are considering a higher-mileage example or one with more equipment. Focus on overall condition, signs of heavy family use, and whether the cabin and technology still feel well cared for.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Sport is affordable but light on appealing amenities, while the EX-L is the recommended minimum upgrade. The Black Edition adds blacked-out exterior trim, black wheels, black badges, black leather seats with red perforation accents, red contrast stitching, and red ambient lighting.
• Powertrain: The Pilot uses a 3.5-liter V6 with a 10-speed automatic transmission, making 285 horsepower and 262 pound-feet of torque. Front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive are both offered, and AWD versions add hill descent control, torque vectoring, and up to 7.3 inches of ground clearance, or 8.3 inches on the TrailSport.
• Safety package: Every version gets Honda Sensing with forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist, lane-centering assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and adaptive cruise control. Higher trims can add parking sensors and a multi-view camera system with TrailWatch technology.
• Infotainment: The Black Edition has a 10.2-inch digital gauge panel and a 9-inch touchscreen. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless smartphone charging, SiriusXM, navigation, HondaLink, Wi-Fi access, and a 12-speaker Bose audio system are available, though the system can feel dated and the wireless CarPlay function can be finicky.
• Fuel efficiency: Fuel economy is not impressive, especially in city driving, where the test vehicle returned 17.8 mpg. The evaluation loop averaged 20 mpg, below the official 21 mpg combined figure.

Which 2025 Honda Pilot trim should I buy?

The 2025 Honda Pilot is offered in 6 trim levels: Sport, EX-L, TrailSport, Touring, Elite, and Black Edition.

Here's the short version:

• Sport: This is the entry point, but it is the least appealing choice if you want the Pilot to feel well equipped. It makes sense only if your priority is getting into the model at the lowest price.
• EX-L: This is the best-value trim because it adds the kind of comfort and equipment most shoppers will actually notice day to day. It is the minimum trim the review recommends.
• TrailSport: Choose this if you want the Pilot’s more rugged character and the added off-roading capability mentioned in the review. It is the trim that best fits buyers who expect to leave pavement more often.
• Touring: This is the step-up choice for shoppers who want more convenience and a more upscale feel without going all the way to the top.
• Elite: This trim brings you closer to the top of the lineup and serves as the basis for the Black Edition.
• Black Edition: This is the style-focused top trim, with blacked-out exterior details, black wheels, black badges, red interior accents, and the most distinctive cabin presentation.

Honda Sensing is standard across the lineup, so you do not need to move up a trim just to get the core safety suite.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Honda Pilot?

This is a moderate, selective-buyer market, so you have room to compare listings without feeling rushed.

• Deal availability: 39.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 4,451 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.07% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 90.2% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $41,684, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Honda Pilot's resale value?

The current average of $41,684 sits slightly below last year's $43,908.

That decline suggests the market has become a bit more favorable for buyers, but it also means future sellers may need to price carefully to stay competitive. If you buy well now, you may have less downside risk than someone who purchased when prices were higher.

The Pilot’s broad appeal helps support future demand, especially because it is a practical three-row SUV with strong owner satisfaction. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.9/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2025 Honda Pilot safe?

The 2025 Honda Pilot earns a Top Safety Pick+ rating from IIHS and a five-star overall rating from NHTSA.

It earns a 6/10 safety score from our experts.

Honda Sensing is standard on every version and includes forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist, lane-centering assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and adaptive cruise control. Higher trims can add parking sensors and a multi-view camera system with TrailWatch technology.

There are some caveats to keep in mind. The expert review notes that adaptive cruise control and lane-centering assist can behave awkwardly in traffic, and the road sign recognition system can be inaccurate. Those issues do not erase the Pilot’s strong crash-test results, but they do mean you should test the driver-assistance systems carefully on any used example you consider.

Should I buy a 2025 Honda Pilot or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 39.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 90.2% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.07% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.9/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The Black Edition returns with blacked-out styling and red interior accents.

Consider the 2026 if:

• It brings a brawnier, more truck-like look while keeping the same practical formula.

The bottom line: If you want the strongest mix of price softness, inventory depth, and proven owner satisfaction, the 2025 is the better buy. If you prefer the newer styling and can wait for the next model year, the 2026 keeps the Pilot’s core strengths intact. Price-sensitive shoppers should focus on the 2025, while style-focused buyers may want to look ahead.
