Why it stands out
The 2025 Honda Civic Hybrid stands out because it adds a new hybrid model to an already strong Civic lineup, bringing more power and significantly improved fuel economy. That combination makes it especially appealing for buyers who want a compact car that is both efficient and affordable, while still offering the choice of sedan or hatchback body styles.
It also benefits from a slight styling refresh and new features, which help keep the car feeling current without changing its basic formula. The Civic Hybrid’s comfort is another plus, but it does have a limitation: all-wheel drive is not available.

Amazing comfort, lots of power and fun to drive. The bose sound system is mind blowing. The quiet hum of the electric motor was a nice break from all the noisy gas motors I was used to. The only issue I have so far is the wireless charger makes my phone run hot and it is not a fast charge.

| Current Average Price | $28,625 |
| Year-Round Low | $28,135 |
| Year-Round High | $29,619 |
| Average Price a Year Ago | $29,622 |
| Change vs. Last Year | −3.37% |

There are 1,075 listings available, which suggests you should have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.
Is the 2025 Honda Civic Hybrid a good car?
Yes — the 4.5/5 user rating and 7.17/10 expert rating point to a strong overall package. The standout strength is Form and function at 8/10.
The 2025 Civic Hybrid stands out because it adds a new hybrid model to an already strong Civic lineup, bringing more power and significantly improved fuel economy. That makes it especially appealing if you want a compact car that is efficient and affordable while still giving you the choice of sedan or hatchback body styles.
The main trade-off is that all-wheel drive is not available, and the hybrid’s price premium means you should make sure the added efficiency and equipment fit your needs. Even so, the market shows 28.5% good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop carefully.
Is the 2025 Honda Civic Hybrid reliable?
Owners rate it 4.5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
The Civic Hybrid’s reliability case is helped by its smooth, quiet hybrid power delivery and its comfort-focused tuning, both of which suggest a car designed to be easy to live with. The hybrid system is described as seamless in operation, and the cabin materials and ride quality also support a durable, everyday-friendly ownership experience.
If you plan to keep the car for several years, the biggest long-term ownership risk is making sure the hybrid system and overall condition have been maintained properly before you buy.
What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Honda Civic Hybrid?
Accident-free inventory is solid at 86.7% — always verify the vehicle history report.
You should still check the vehicle history report carefully and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you are comparing multiple listings at similar prices. Focus on overall condition, feature completeness, and whether the car matches the trim level and equipment you expect.
Key things to evaluate:
- Trim level: The base cabin is already well put together, but higher trims add a digital instrument panel and a more upscale feel. The Sport Touring Hybrid also brings the most advanced tech, while the Sport Hybrid adds a sunroof, heated front seats, and dual-zone automatic climate control.
- Powertrain: The hybrid uses a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with two electric motors for 200 hp and 232 lb-ft of torque, and it is expected to return 36% more miles to the gallon than the prior setup.
- Safety package: Standard driver assistance includes forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, lane-keep assist, adaptive cruise control, a traffic sign reader, and automatic high beams. The Sport trim adds a blind-spot monitor with rear cross-traffic alerts, while the top Touring trim adds parking-speed automatic braking, parking proximity sensors, and rain-sensing wipers.
- Infotainment: The base LX includes a seven-inch touchscreen, HondaLink app connectivity, a four-speaker audio system, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto. The Sport adds more speakers, while the top Touring trim gets a nine-inch touchscreen, a 12-speaker Bose system, wireless phone integration, and a wireless charging pad.
- Fuel efficiency: The Sport Hybrid is estimated at 49 mpg in combined driving, and Honda says the hybrid setup should deliver 36% better fuel economy than the prior powertrain.
Which 2025 Honda Civic Hybrid trim should I buy?
The 2025 Honda Civic Hybrid is offered in 2 trim levels: Sport Hybrid and Sport Touring Hybrid.
Here's the short version:
- Sport Hybrid: This is the better-value choice if you want the hybrid powertrain, a sunroof, heated front seats, and dual-zone automatic climate control without stretching to the top trim. It gives you the core hybrid experience with a meaningful equipment upgrade over the non-hybrid Sport.
- Sport Touring Hybrid: This is the pick if you want the most upscale Civic Hybrid experience, including the larger nine-inch touchscreen, digital instrument panel, 12-speaker Bose audio, wireless phone integration, wireless charging, and Google Built-in. It suits you best if tech and convenience matter more than keeping the price down.
The Sport trim also adds a blind-spot monitor with rear cross-traffic alerts, while the top Touring trim extends automatic braking to parking lot speeds and adds parking proximity sensors and rain-sensing wipers.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Honda Civic Hybrid?
This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you are patient.
- Deal availability: 28.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 1,075 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 3.37% compared with last year.
- Clean inventory: 86.7% of listings are accident-free.
If you find a listing below $28,135, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2025 Honda Civic Hybrid's resale value?
The current average of $28,625 sits slightly below last year's $29,622.
That softer pricing suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy at a more favorable entry point. For a future seller, that also means resale value will depend heavily on condition, mileage, and how well the car is equipped.
Because the model has strong owner satisfaction and broad appeal as an efficient compact car, demand should remain healthy if you keep it clean and well maintained. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Is the 2025 Honda Civic Hybrid safe?
The 2025 Honda Civic sedan was awarded five-star ratings in overall, side, and rollover protection, and four-star ratings for frontal collisions from NHTSA.
It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.
Standard advanced safety features include forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, lane-keep assist, adaptive cruise control, a traffic sign reader, and automatic high beams. The Sport trim adds a blind-spot monitor with rear cross-traffic alerts, while the top Touring trim adds parking-speed automatic braking, parking proximity sensors, and rain-sensing wipers.
The safety picture is strong overall, though the frontal crash result is lower than the other NHTSA ratings, so that is worth keeping in mind if crash performance is a top priority for you.
Should I buy a 2025 Honda Civic Hybrid or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2025 if:
- 28.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Accident-free inventory is solid at 86.7% — always verify the vehicle history report.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 3.37% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
- The debut of the new Hybrid model brings more power and significantly improved fuel economy to the Civic lineup.
The bottom line: If you want the newest Civic Hybrid setup with stronger efficiency, more power, and a current feature set, the 2025 is the better path. If you are mainly focused on price, you should also compare nearby model years and shop whichever one gives you the best combination of condition, equipment, and asking price.
