What’s New for the 2026 Honda Civic Hybrid
The entire Honda Civic lineup got a massive refresh in 2025, which included exterior design tweaks, updated interior trim, and new tech features such as Google built-in, as well as the inclusion of the hybrid powertrain in the lineup. Therefore, the 2026 Civic Hybrid is a carryover model with no significant changes.
Design
The Honda Civic Hybrid is available in both sedan and hatchback body styles, though the hatch looks remarkably like a sedan from the side. The 2025 refresh adds a more aggressive front fascia and the overall design is handsome. There are no appearance packages available on the hybrid, but there are a few 18-inch wheel options with silver or black finishes, depending on the trim level. While there are several free color options, premium paint colors cost $455 on both the sedan and the hatchback.
Powertrain
The front-wheel-drive-only Civic Hybrid is equipped with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine, which is paired with Honda’s two-motor hybrid system. Total system output is 200 horsepower and 232 pound-feet of torque. The EPA estimates the sedan will get 50 mpg in the city and 47 mpg on the highway, while the hatchback should return 50 mpg and 45 mpg, respectively.

Interior
Both the sedan and hatchback versions of the Civic Hybrid seat five passengers, but the latter has significantly more cargo space. The hatchback has a 24.5-cubic-foot cargo area and the sedan's is 14.8 cubic feet. The hybrid is among the more premium models in the Civic lineup and comes standard with heated front seats, a one-touch power moonroof, dual-zone automatic climate control, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and 60/40 split fold rear seats. Leather seats and power front seats are available.
Technology
The 2026 Honda Civic Hybrid has a solid list of standard tech features, including wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Wi-Fi hotspot capability (subscription required), multiple USB-C charging ports, over-the-air updates, and a 9-inch infotainment screen. Upgrading to the Sport Touring trim adds a wireless phone charger, a 10.2-inch digital cluster, and standard Google built-in with things like Google Maps and Google Assistant. While an 8-speaker audio system is standard on the Sport Hybrid, the Sport Touring Hybrid gets the 12-speaker Bose premium audio system.
