How much does the 2025 Honda Civic cost?

Prices have softened 2.61% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 5,859 listings available, which suggests you should have a healthy number of options to compare.

Is the 2025 Honda Civic a good car?

Yes — the 2025 Honda Civic earns a 4.7/5 user rating and a 7.8/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Cost effectiveness at 9/10.

The 2025 Honda Civic is positioned as a polished compact car with broad everyday appeal, and the overview highlights that it is also fun to drive. The expert review backs that up with praise for its driving engagement and the availability of a manual transmission, while also noting modern tech like Google Built-In.

The main trade-offs are that all-wheel drive is not available, lane-keeping assist can be irritating, and the manual transmission lacks some user-friendly features. If you want an affordable sedan or hatchback with a little more personality than the average compact car, this year’s Civic fits that brief well.

Good and great deals account for 38.1% of listings, which is a useful sign that there are still some attractive buys in the market.

Is the 2025 Honda Civic reliable?

Owners rate it 4.7/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2025 Honda Civic is described as a well-rounded compact car with a polished feel, and the expert review emphasizes that Honda has refined the lineup without losing the qualities that made it appealing in the first place. The safety and driver-assistance updates also point to a model that has been thoughtfully improved for daily use.

The performance notes reinforce that the base setup is straightforward and approachable, while the cost-effectiveness commentary suggests Honda has kept ownership appeal in mind. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about outright durability and more about choosing a well-maintained example with the features and transmission you actually want.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Honda Civic?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 84.6% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still run a vehicle history report on any candidate and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re considering a higher-mileage example or one with a manual transmission. Focus on overall condition, signs of prior damage, and whether the car’s tech and driver-assistance features work as intended.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The gas-only lineup is straightforward, with LX, Sport, and Civic Si mentioned explicitly. The base trims get a 7-inch touchscreen, while the Si stands out with a 9-inch touchscreen, Google Built-In, a 12-speaker Bose Premium sound system, wireless smartphone projection, and a 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster.
• Powertrain: The base Civic uses a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with 150 horsepower and a CVT, while the Civic Si uses a turbocharged inline four-cylinder engine and a six-speed manual. Every Civic is front-wheel drive.
• Safety package: Honda Sensing is standard on all Civics, with improved collision-mitigation braking, adaptive cruise control, and lane-keeping assist. The lane-keeping system can still feel a bit aggressive, so test it on your own route.
• Infotainment: The standard setup is a 7-inch touchscreen, but the Civic Si gets a 9-inch touchscreen, Google Built-In, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and three years of service included.
• Fuel efficiency: The base Civic LX is rated at 32 mpg city, 41 highway, and 36 combined. The Civic Si is rated at 27 mpg city, 37 highway, and 31 combined.

Which 2025 Honda Civic trim should I buy?

The 2025 Honda Civic is offered in 3 trim levels: LX, Sport, and Civic Si.

Here's the short version:

• LX: This is the value play if you want the lowest entry price and the best fuel economy in the gas-only lineup. It gives you the core Civic experience without the extra equipment that pushes the Si into enthusiast territory.
• Sport: This is the middle ground if you want a little more equipment than the LX without jumping to the manual-only Si. It makes sense if you want a more dressed-up Civic but still want to keep costs in check.
• Civic Si: This is the best choice if you want the most engaging version of the gas Civic. It adds the strongest tech and audio setup, a manual transmission, and the most enthusiast-focused character, but it also comes with the trade-off of a stiffer ride and some missing convenience features.

Honda Sensing is standard across the lineup, so you’re not giving up the core safety package by choosing the lower trims.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Honda Civic?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient.

• Deal availability: 38.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 5,859 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.61% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 84.6% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $25,055, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Honda Civic's resale value?

The current average of $25,055 sits slightly below last year's $25,727.

That softer pricing can help you buy in at a more favorable point, but it also means future resale gains may be more limited if the market stays soft. If you plan to sell later, the current trend suggests you should focus on buying a clean, well-equipped example at a competitive price.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.7/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2025 Honda Civic safe?

The 2025 Honda Civic Hatchback and the 2025 Honda Civic Sedan have earned Top Safety Pick+ awards from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) and five-star overall ratings from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Honda Sensing is standard on all Civics, and the system includes improved collision-mitigation braking, adaptive cruise control, and lane-keeping assist. The expert review notes that lane-keeping assist can still feel a bit aggressive, so that’s worth testing during a drive.

Should I buy a 2025 Honda Civic or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 38.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 84.6% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.61% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.7/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• Honda adds a mid-cycle refresh with updated styling, improved driver-assistance tuning, and expanded tech.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $24,689, the 2024 costs less than the current year's $25,055 average.
• It emphasizes affordable performance with a manual-only, enthusiast-friendly character.

Consider the 2026 if:

• At $26,768, the 2026 costs more than the current year's $25,055 average.
• It carries over the Civic formula with broad body-style and powertrain choice.

The bottom line: If you want the freshest version of this generation with strong market availability and updated tech, the 2025 is the better default choice. If your priority is saving money, the 2024 is the more budget-friendly path, while the 2026 makes sense only if you’re comfortable paying more for a newer model year.
