Used 2025 Genesis G80 for Sale nearChicago, IL

How much does the 2025 Genesis G80 cost?

Prices have softened 6.14% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 313 listings available, which suggests a modest amount of inventory for shoppers to compare.

Is the 2025 Genesis G80 a good car?

Yes — the 2025 Genesis G80 earns a 5/5 user rating and an 8.17/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel and Safety.

It comes across as a good-looking, feature-rich midsize luxury sedan that delivers strong value for the money. The cabin materials are premium, the ride quality is a clear strength, and the overall package is aimed at buyers who want a refined luxury car without paying the usual premium for the class.

The main trade-offs are that it is not the quickest car in its segment and its fuel economy is a weak point. Even so, if you want a comfortable, well-equipped luxury sedan with a sophisticated feel, this one fits that brief well.

35.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2025 Genesis G80 reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The G80 is positioned as a comfortable, well-equipped luxury sedan with a strong warranty and complimentary scheduled maintenance, which helps reduce early ownership stress. Its comfort-focused tuning and premium build also support the impression of a car designed to be easy to live with.

The performance side is more about smooth cruising than excitement, so long-term ownership risk for used buyers is less about drama and more about whether you can live with modest pace and weaker fuel economy.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Genesis G80?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 94.2% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a vehicle history report, confirm service records, and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you are considering a higher-mileage example or a top-trim car with more equipment to verify. Focus on cosmetic condition, wheel and tire wear, and whether the cabin electronics and driver-assistance features operate as expected.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: Base models get leatherette seating and standard 18-inch wheels, while the Advanced trim adds wood trim and the upper trims bring more upscale materials and appearance details. If you want the richest cabin presentation, the higher trims are the ones to target.
• Powertrain: You can choose between a 2.5-liter turbocharged engine with 300 horsepower and 311 pound-feet of torque or a 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged V6 with 375 horsepower and 391 pound-feet of torque. The larger engine is quicker, but the car is still tuned more for comfort than hard acceleration.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes forward collision avoidance assist, lane keep assist, lane following assist, speed limit assist, forward and rear park-distance warning, blind-spot avoidance tech, and Highway Drive Assist. Upper trims add side park-distance warning and assist, Smart Park, rear occupant alert, and a blind-spot monitor with a video feed in the gauge cluster.
• Infotainment: The cabin centers on a 27-inch OLED display, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard. You also get fingerprint authentication, with a digital key and Smart Park available on higher-spec versions.
• Fuel efficiency: The EPA gives the G80 a combined fuel rating of 24 miles per gallon for the smaller engine and 19 mpg combined for the twin-turbo V6.

Which 2025 Genesis G80 trim should I buy?

The 2025 Genesis G80 is offered in 4 trim levels: Base, Advanced, Sport Advanced and Sport Prestige.

Here's the short version:

• Base: This is the entry point, and it already gives you the core G80 experience with the refreshed styling, standard 18-inch wheels, leatherette seating, and the big 27-inch OLED display. It makes sense if you want the lowest-cost way into the model, but it is also the trim where some of the richer cabin touches are missing.
• Advanced: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it adds wood trim and a more upscale feel without pushing you all the way to the expensive top end. If you want the sweet spot between price and luxury content, this is the one to focus on.
• Sport Advanced: This trim is for you if you want more visual and equipment drama, including the sportier presentation and the kind of added content that makes the cabin feel more special. It is a stronger pick if you care about appearance and features more than pure value.
• Sport Prestige: This is the top-tier choice, and it brings the most lavish presentation with Nappa leather seats, carbon fiber trim, shiny alloy pedals, and a micro-suede headliner. Buy this only if you want the most luxurious version and are comfortable paying for it.

Upper trims add side park-distance warning and assist, Smart Park, rear occupant alert, and a blind-spot monitor with a video feed in the gauge cluster.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Genesis G80?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop patiently but still move quickly on the right car.

• Deal availability: 35.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 313 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.14% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 94.2% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $53,093, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Genesis G80's resale value?

The current average of $53,398 sits slightly below last year's $56,890.

That softer pricing suggests the market has moved in buyers' favor, which can make it harder for a future seller to command top dollar right away. If you buy now, you may be entering at a more favorable point than owners who purchased when prices were higher.

For resale, the key takeaway is that a well-equipped luxury sedan with strong value can still attract interest, but depreciation pressure remains part of the story. A clean history, strong condition, and desirable trim will matter if you want to protect value later.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2025 Genesis G80 safe?

The 2025 Genesis G80 earns five-star ratings from NHTSA. It also received a top Good in small front and side crashes as well as front pedestrian avoidance from IIHS, though it scored Acceptable for headlights, forward collision avoidance and LATCH ease of use, and Marginal in moderate front crashes and seat belt reminders.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard driver-assistance equipment includes forward collision avoidance assist, lane keep assist, lane following assist, speed limit assist, forward and rear park-distance warning, blind-spot avoidance tech, and Highway Drive Assist. Upper trims add side park-distance warning and assist, Smart Park, rear occupant alert, and a blind-spot monitor with a video feed in the gauge cluster.

The main caveat is that IIHS results are mixed, so you should pay attention to the areas that scored lower, especially if you are comparing this car with rivals that post cleaner crash-test results.

Should I buy a 2025 Genesis G80 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 35.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 94.2% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.14% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• Fresh off a mid-cycle refresh, it leans harder into design, technology, and features.

Consider the 2026 if:

• It keeps the midsize luxury formula while emphasizing old-school elegance and a sumptuous interior.

The bottom line: The 2025 is the better pick if you want the refreshed look, strong feature content, and softer pricing in today’s market. If you are shopping strictly for value, this is the year to target first; if you want to compare, the 2026 is worth a look for buyers who prioritize a more traditional luxury feel.
