overall

Summary
With 2,458 currently listed for sale and an average price of $32,014.00, 31.5% of 2025 Ford Mavericks for sale on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favorably reviewed: Owners rated the 2025 Ford Maverick 4.4 / 5 stars and CarGurus experts gave it a 7.83 / 10.
93.0% of 2025 Maverick models on CarGurus are accident free.
Why it stands out
The 2025 Ford Maverick stands out because it brings compact-pickup practicality to a smaller, more approachable package. Ford’s truck uses the same basic platform as the Escape and Bronco Sport crossovers, but it still offers real truck capability and a hybrid powertrain. For 2025, the Maverick also gets styling and tech updates, and Ford adds a Maverick Lobo performance variant along with an all-wheel drive hybrid, giving the lineup more variety than before.
That mix makes the 2025 Ford Maverick appealing to buyers who want utility without moving up to a larger pickup. The standard hybrid powertrain is a major draw, and the interior is described as charming and functional. It is also a fun-to-drive model in Lobo form. The tradeoffs are worth noting, though: prices have crept up, advanced safety features are not standard, and the touchscreen-heavy controls can be excessive.

Love it! Rides like a dream. Has all the new features, gets great mileage. Seats in Fords are super comfortable. Back seat is roomy. Large glove box, lots of storage, sunglasses holder. Reverse camera. Very similar to an Explorer Sport Trac we loved.

| Year-Round Low | $31,514.51 |

Is the 2025 Ford Maverick a good car?
Generally — the 2025 Ford Maverick earns a 4.4/5 user rating and a 7.83/10 expert rating, which points to broad appeal with a few clear compromises.
The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel, Performance, Form and function, and Technology.
Owners consistently praise its practicality, comfortable seating, good fuel economy, and spacious interior, and many also like the modern features and hybrid setup. The Maverick’s use case is especially strong if you want compact-pickup utility without stepping up to a larger truck, and the Lobo variant adds a more playful, fun-to-drive angle. The main trade-offs are that prices have crept up, advanced safety features are not standard, and the touchscreen-heavy controls can feel excessive.
With 29.0% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still enough market opportunity to shop selectively rather than rush.
Is the 2025 Ford Maverick reliable?
Owners rate it 4.4/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.
Owner feedback points to a truck that feels practical, comfortable, and good on fuel, with the hybrid setup standing out as a dependable everyday choice. The expert evaluation also describes the Maverick as pleasant to drive and practical, which supports the idea that it should be easy to live with over time. Ford’s hybrid powertrain components also carry an eight-year/100,000-mile warranty, which adds some ownership reassurance.
For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about basic usability and more about finding a well-kept example with the features and condition you want.
What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Ford Maverick?
Accident-free inventory is excellent at 92.7% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
You should still run a history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you are considering a higher-mileage truck or one with more equipment. Focus on how the interior, touchscreen controls, and safety equipment were used and maintained, since those are the areas where the Maverick’s ownership experience can vary most. If you want the hybrid, make sure the listing matches the drivetrain and trim you expect.

- Trim level: The base XL keeps things simple with 17-inch steel wheels and a more basic grille, while XLT and Lariat add alloy wheels and more upscale exterior details. The Lariat also gets a gloss-black grille, and the Lobo adds a cleaner street-truck look with painted rear bumper, side skirts, 19-inch wheels, and lowered suspension.
- Powertrain: You can shop a standard hybrid with 191 horsepower and 155 pound-feet of torque, or a 2.0-liter turbo-four with 238 hp and 275 lb-ft of torque. The hybrid is available with front-wheel drive or AWD, while the non-hybrid is AWD-only.
- Safety package: Forward-collision warning, blind-spot monitoring, and automatic high beams are standard on the base XL. Lane-keep assist and lane-departure warning require an XLT, while adaptive cruise control with lane-centering and stop-and-go functions is reserved for the Lariat or Tremor. A 360-degree camera is newly available for 2025.
- Infotainment: The Maverick uses a 13.2-inch touchscreen with Sync 4, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and an eight-inch digital instrument cluster. Ford still routes some climate and seat-heater controls through the screen, so you should check whether that setup works for you.
- Fuel efficiency: The base FWD hybrid is rated at 38 mpg combined, and the AWD hybrid returns 37 mpg combined. The 2.0-liter turbo-four is rated at 25 mpg combined in XL, XLT, and Lariat form, while the Lobo drops to 24 mpg combined and the Tremor is rated at 23 mpg combined.
Which 2025 Ford Maverick trim should I buy?
The 2025 Ford Maverick is offered in 5 trim levels: XL, XLT, Lariat, Tremor, and Lobo.
Here's the short version:
- XL: This is the value play if you want the Maverick’s core strengths at the lowest entry point. You still get the truck’s charming interior design, the standard hybrid option, and the basic safety and tech setup, but you give up some of the convenience and driver-assistance upgrades found higher up the range.
- XLT: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it adds meaningful equipment without pushing you into the pricier upper end of the lineup. It brings a better balance of features and everyday usability, and it is the trim you need if you want some of the Maverick’s more advanced safety content without going all the way to Lariat or Tremor.
- Lariat: Choose this if you want a more polished Maverick with more available comfort and convenience features. It also unlocks adaptive cruise control with lane-centering and stop-and-go functions, making it the trim to target if driver assistance matters to you.
- Tremor: This is the right pick if you want the Maverick’s off-road-focused hardware. It adds dedicated suspension tuning, all-terrain tires, skid plates, and a twin-clutch rear drive unit, so it is the trim to consider if you want the most rugged version.
- Lobo: Pick this if you care most about the Maverick’s street-truck personality and sharper handling. It adds lowered suspension, unique styling, upgraded braking and cooling hardware, and a track-focused drive mode, making it the most distinctive choice for buyers who want something more playful than practical.
The safety package is not fully standard across the lineup, so if driver assistance matters to you, make sure the trim you choose includes the features you want.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Ford Maverick?
This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile listings.
- Deal availability: 29.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 2,521 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 5.20% compared with last year.
- Clean inventory: 92.7% of listings are accident-free.
If you find a listing below $31,514.51, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2025 Ford Maverick's resale value?
The current average of $32,010 sits slightly below last year's $33,765.
That price movement suggests the Maverick has softened enough to create a better buying window now, but it also means future sellers may not see the same immediate upside they might have expected when demand was hotter. Even so, the truck’s practical layout, hybrid efficiency, and broad appeal should help it remain attractive to used buyers. The Lobo and hybrid variants may be especially appealing to shoppers looking for something distinctive or efficient.
Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.4/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Is the 2025 Ford Maverick safe?
The 2025 Maverick earns a four-star overall rating from NHTSA, with four-star ratings in rollover crash testing and five-star ratings in frontal and side crash tests.
It earns a 6/10 safety score from our experts.
Forward-collision warning, blind-spot monitoring, and automatic high beams are standard on the base XL, but lane-keep assist and lane-departure warning require an XLT, and adaptive cruise control with lane-centering and stop-and-go functions is limited to the Lariat or Tremor. A 360-degree camera is newly available for 2025.
The Maverick’s crash-test picture is mixed because IIHS has given it a Good result in the updated side test, but only Marginal in the updated moderate overlap front test and Acceptable for headlights. That means you should pay close attention to trim content and safety equipment if protection is a priority.
Should I buy a 2025 Ford Maverick or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2025 if:
- 29.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Accident-free inventory is excellent at 92.7% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 5.20% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 4.4/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
- The 2025 update brings styling and tech improvements, plus the new Lobo performance variant and an available AWD hybrid.
The bottom line: If you want the most up-to-date Maverick with the broadest mix of trims, tech, and powertrain choices, the 2025 is the one to target. If your priority is simply getting the lowest possible price, a nearby model year may be worth comparing, but you should expect fewer of the 2025’s updates and less variety in the lineup.
