Is the 2025 Ford Bronco Sport a good car?

The 2025 Ford Bronco Sport earns an 7.83/10 expert rating.

The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel, Performance, and Technology.

It is designed primarily for drivers who want a small SUV with a more adventurous personality than the average crossover, and it also brings practical strengths like standard all-wheel drive, great handling, and stylish design. The trade-offs are clear: excessive touchscreen controls and mediocre fuel economy.

With 35.2% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have room to shop selectively.

Is the 2025 Ford Bronco Sport reliable?

The 2025 Ford Bronco Sport is presented as a well-rounded compact crossover with standard all-wheel drive and a strong everyday-usability angle, while still leaning hard into off-road capability. Ford’s updates for 2025 add new option packages aimed at increasing off-road capability, along with tech, styling, and interior updates.

Its off-road hardware is a major part of the story, including torque-vectoring all-wheel drive, Trail Control, and available one-pedal off-road driving. Ford also backs it with a three-year/36,000-mile bumper-to-bumper warranty and a five-year/60,000-mile powertrain warranty.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that the Bronco Sport’s adventure-focused hardware and touchscreen-heavy controls can make condition and feature functionality more important to verify before you buy.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Ford Bronco Sport?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 92.7% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re considering a vehicle that may have seen trail use or frequent off-pavement driving. Focus on tire wear, underbody condition, and whether the cabin electronics and driver-assistance features work as intended.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Bronco Sport’s styling stays rugged across the lineup, but the newly available off-road packages change the hardware significantly. The Black Diamond Package is available on the Big Bend trim level, while the Sasquatch Package is available on the Outer Banks and Badlands. Those packages add modular steel front and rear bumpers, accessory mounting points, steel bash plates, skid plates, and other off-road-focused equipment, so base-trim examples without them will be less trail-ready.
• Powertrain: Most trim levels use a 1.5-liter turbocharged three-cylinder engine with 180 horsepower and 200 pound-feet of torque, while Badlands models use a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder with 250 hp and 280 lb-ft of torque. Both engines pair with an eight-speed automatic and standard all-wheel drive, and the AWD system uses a dual-clutch rear-drive unit for torque vectoring.
• Safety package: Ford Co-Pilot360 includes forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, blind spot monitoring, rear cross traffic alert, lane keep assist, lane departure warning, adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go and lane centering, and automatic high beams. Reverse automatic emergency braking and traffic sign recognition are optional on Outer Banks and standard on Badlands.
• Infotainment: For 2025, the Bronco Sport upgrades to Sync 4 with a 13.2-inch touchscreen, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The larger screen and digital cluster are standard.
• Fuel efficiency: The 1.5-liter turbo-three is rated at 27 mpg combined, including 25 mpg city and 30 mpg highway. The 2.0-liter turbo-four is rated at 23 mpg combined, including 21 mpg city and 27 mpg highway.

Which 2025 Ford Bronco Sport trim should I buy?

The 2025 Ford Bronco Sport is offered in 5 trim levels: Big Bend, Free Wheeling, Heritage, Outer Banks, and Badlands.

Here's the short version:

• Big Bend: This is the starting point and the best-value trim if you want the Bronco Sport’s core personality without stretching the budget. It gets the standard rugged look and can be paired with the Black Diamond Package if you want more off-road hardware.
• Free Wheeling: This trim is for you if you want a more style-forward Bronco Sport with a distinctive appearance. It makes the most sense if visual character matters more to you than adding capability.
• Heritage: This is the trim to choose if you want a design-focused version with a more nostalgic look. It’s a good fit if you care most about styling and a unique presence.
• Outer Banks: This is the better pick if you want a more upscale-feeling Bronco Sport and plan to add the Sasquatch Package. It’s the trim that best balances everyday comfort with available off-road upgrades.
• Badlands: This is the most capable choice, especially if you want the 2.0-liter engine, the Sasquatch Package, and the added off-road hardware that comes with it. It’s the right trim if maximum trail ability is your priority.

The safety package note to keep in mind is that reverse automatic emergency braking and traffic sign recognition are optional on Outer Banks and standard on Badlands.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Ford Bronco Sport?

The market looks selective rather than overheated, so you can shop with patience and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 35.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 5,244 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.95% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 92.7% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $28,739, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Ford Bronco Sport's resale value?

The current average of $28,739 sits slightly below last year's $33,013.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can work in your favor if you’re buying now. For a future seller, it means you should expect resale value to depend heavily on trim, condition, and whether the vehicle has the desirable off-road packages.

If you keep the Bronco Sport in clean condition and avoid heavy trail wear, it should remain easier to market than a neglected example. The strongest resale prospects will likely come from well-equipped trims with the features shoppers want most.

Is the 2025 Ford Bronco Sport safe?

The 2025 Ford Bronco Sport earns a five-star overall rating from NHTSA, with five-star frontal and side crash-test ratings and a four-star rollover crash-test rating.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Ford Co-Pilot360 is standard and includes forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, blind spot monitoring, rear cross traffic alert, lane keep assist, lane departure warning, adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go and lane centering, and automatic high beams. Reverse automatic emergency braking and traffic sign recognition are optional on Outer Banks and standard on Badlands.

IIHS testing at press time included top “Good” scores in the small overlap front test, original moderate overlap front test, and original side-impact test, plus an “Acceptable” rating in the updated side-impact test and a “Good” headlight rating.

Should I buy a 2025 Ford Bronco Sport or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

• 35.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 92.7% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.95% compared with last year.
• Ford doubles down on the Bronco Sport’s off-road identity for 2025, adding new option packages to further increase off-road capability, along with tech, styling, and interior updates.

The bottom line:

If you want the most up-to-date Bronco Sport with the strongest mix of tech, off-road hardware, and market softness, the 2025 is the one to target. If your priority is simply getting into a Bronco Sport for less money, a nearby model year can still make sense, but you’ll give up some of the 2025 updates and the current inventory advantages.
