How much does the 2025 Chevrolet Malibu cost?

Prices have softened 12.04% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 5,935 listings available, which suggests you should have a healthy number of options to compare.

Is the 2025 Chevrolet Malibu a good car?

The 2025 Chevrolet Malibu is a practical used midsize sedan if you want space and value more than excitement. The overview describes it as a roomy, value-oriented family car with easy-to-use features, and it notes that the final-generation Malibu is generally cheaper than rivals like the Camry or Accord.

That same overview also points to a broad spread of trims and technology over time, which helps keep it relevant as a used buy. If you want a straightforward sedan with a roomy cabin and a value-first personality, it fits that brief well. 36.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2025 Chevrolet Malibu reliable?

The 2025 Chevrolet Malibu is described as the best-reliability version of the front-wheel-drive Malibu family, with fewer owner complaints than earlier generations. The overview also says it has the strongest reliability record of the front-wheel-drive Malibus, according to outlets like J.D. Power, Consumer Reports, and CarComplaints.com.

For used buyers, that makes it a more reassuring choice than older Malibus, especially if you want a sedan that should be easier to live with over time. Long-term ownership risk is still worth managing with a careful inspection and a clean history report, since condition matters a lot on any aging used car.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Chevrolet Malibu?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 82% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should prioritize a history report first, then inspect the car closely for signs of prior damage, uneven wear, or poor repairs. Focus on overall condition, because a clean-looking listing can still hide issues that affect long-term value and ownership costs. If possible, pay extra attention to maintenance records and how well the car has been cared for.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Chevrolet Malibu?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 36.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 5,935 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.04% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 82.0% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $19,371, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Chevrolet Malibu's resale value?

The current average of $19,371 sits slightly below last year's $22,022.

That price movement suggests the Malibu has softened in the used market, which can help you buy at a more favorable entry point today. For a future seller, that also means resale value may depend heavily on condition, mileage, and how well the car is equipped. If you keep the car clean, documented, and accident-free, you should be in a better position when it is time to sell.

Should I buy a 2025 Chevrolet Malibu or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 36.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 82% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.04% compared with last year.

The bottom line: If you want the newest version of this final-generation Malibu and you value a lower used price, the 2025 is the cleanest path. If you are especially price-sensitive, a nearby model year may give you a similar ownership experience for less money, so compare condition and equipment closely before you decide.
