How much does the 2025 BMW M3 cost?

Prices have softened 3.30% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 335 listings available, which gives you a meaningful amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2025 BMW M3 a good car?

The 2025 BMW M3 earns an expert rating of 8.5/10.

The model scores 9/10 across Performance, Form and function, and Safety.

The 2025 M3 is positioned as a rare super sedan that blends everyday usability with serious performance, and BMW’s own summary emphasizes that it remains one of the most capable and versatile super sedans in the lineup. The expert review backs that up with praise for its breathtaking overall performance, intuitive traction control systems, and commodious interior dimensions.

The trade-offs are worth weighing, though: the styling won’t suit everyone, the infotainment system takes some getting used to, and the car can feel heavy and dimensionally large. Even so, if you want a purpose-built performance sedan that still works as a daily driver, this one fits that brief well.

There are 34.0% of listings priced as good or great deals, which suggests you have some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2025 BMW M3 reliable?

The 2025 M3 is presented as a mechanically straightforward performance sedan, with BMW’s inline-six engine layout and no hybrid assistance. The expert review also emphasizes its strong cooling hardware, including oil coolers, heat exchangers, and a transmission cooler, which supports hard use and repeated performance driving.

The powertrain is described as delivering thrilling acceleration across the rev band, and the car’s tuning flexibility lets you tailor the drivetrain, steering, damping, exhaust volume, and traction control to your preference. That kind of configurability can help you keep the car feeling composed in everyday use while still giving you access to its full performance range when you want it.

BMW also includes a standard suite of advanced safety features, and the optional driver-assistance package adds more capability if you want it. For a used buyer, the main long-term ownership risk is that this is still a high-performance sedan with complex hardware, so condition, maintenance history, and prior use matter a lot.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 BMW M3?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 94.3% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially on a car with this much performance hardware and configurability. Focus on overall condition, signs of hard use, and whether the car’s equipment matches the trim and options you want.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The standard car gives you a six-speed manual, rear-wheel drive, adaptive dampers, nearly 480 hp, and a comfortable, chic interior, while the Competition trims add more power, an eight-speed automatic, and bigger wheels. The base car also does not include the Driving Assistance Professional Package.
• Powertrain: All versions use BMW’s twin-turbo 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder engine. The base model makes 473 horsepower and 406 pound-feet of torque, while the Competition trim increases output to 503 hp and 479 lb-ft. Rear-wheel drive is standard, and xDrive is available only on the Competition xDrive.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, active blind-spot monitoring, lane-keep assist, and rear cross-traffic alert. The optional Active Driving Assistant Pro adds radar cruise control, lane-centering, lane-change assist, traffic jam assist, and evasion assist.
• Infotainment: The car uses a 14.9-inch iDrive 8.5 system with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, SiriusXM compatibility, and Bluetooth standard. It also includes a 12.3-inch gauge cluster and a head-up display.
• Fuel efficiency: The M3 returns an EPA-rated 16 mpg city, 22 mpg highway, and 18 mpg combined.

Which 2025 BMW M3 trim should I buy?

The 2025 BMW M3 is offered in 3 trim levels: standard, Competition, Competition xDrive.

Here's the short version:

• standard: This is the best-value choice if you want the core M3 experience with the six-speed manual, rear-wheel drive, adaptive dampers, and the full everyday-friendly performance character. It gives you the most driver involvement and keeps the price lower than the higher-output trims.
• Competition: Choose this if you want more power and the eight-speed automatic, along with the added visual and wheel upgrades. It suits you best if you want a faster, more effortless daily driver without stepping all the way up to all-wheel drive.
• Competition xDrive: This is the pick if you want the most traction and the quickest acceleration in the lineup. It’s the right fit if you value all-weather confidence and maximum straight-line performance over manual-transmission involvement.

The standard car does not include the Driving Assistance Professional Package.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 BMW M3?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 34.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 335 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.30% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 94.3% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $89,865, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 BMW M3's resale value?

The current average of $89,865 sits slightly below last year's $92,934.

That price movement suggests the market has eased a bit, which can help you as a buyer today. For a future seller, it means the car is still holding a strong value position, but you should not expect a dramatic rebound unless demand tightens or supply shrinks.

Because the year-round range runs from $89,865 to $92,905, the market is already clustered near the lower end of its recent band. If you buy well and keep the car in strong condition, you should be in a better position to protect resale value later.

Is the 2025 BMW M3 safe?

The 2025 BMW M3 comes standard with a suite of advanced safety features, including forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, active blind-spot monitoring, lane-keep assist, and rear cross-traffic alert.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

BMW’s Active Driving Assistant Pro adds radar cruise control, lane-centering, lane-change assist, traffic jam assist, and evasion assist for $1,700. If you want more driver-assistance capability, that package is the key upgrade to look for.

Should I buy a 2025 BMW M3 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 34.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 94.3% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.30% compared with last year.
• The 2025 model year adds exterior and tech updates that help keep the car feeling current.

The bottom line: If you want the freshest version of this super sedan with a strong mix of performance, usability, and current tech, the 2025 is the one to target. If your priority is stretching your budget, a nearby model year can still make sense, especially if you find a cleaner or lower-priced example with the right options.
