Is the 2025 BMW 8 Series a good car?

The 2025 BMW 8 Series stands out as a luxury grand tourer that blends strong performance with a polished, high-tech cabin. It offers a comfortable but sporty ride and handling, along with strong engines, which helps it appeal to you if you want something more engaging than a typical luxury cruiser without giving up refinement. It also benefits from excellent rear passenger room, making it feel more practical than many cars in its class.

Its appeal is also tied to the breadth of equipment and the sense of occasion it brings. The interior is described as brimming with tech, and the car offers wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, over-the-air updates, in-car gaming, a standard head-up display, quad-zone climate control, USB-C charge ports, front seat massagers, a panoramic glass roof, and an available 31-inch theater screen with 5G connectivity and built-in Amazon Fire TV. BMW also offers a leather-free configuration, while the M Sport package adds uprated brakes and sports styling features. On the downside, expensive options, high depreciation, and a poor turning circle are worth keeping in mind, so the 2025 BMW 8 Series is best suited to you if you value performance and luxury enough to accept those tradeoffs.

32.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you a decent chance of finding a competitive offer.

Is the 2025 BMW 8 Series reliable?

The 2025 BMW 8 Series is presented as a luxury grand tourer with a polished, high-tech cabin, strong engines, and a comfortable but sporty ride and handling. It also brings excellent rear passenger room, which adds to its everyday usefulness.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that high depreciation and expensive options can make the car costlier to own than the purchase price alone suggests.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 BMW 8 Series?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 96.4% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a vehicle history report and verify that the car’s equipment and service records match the listing. Prioritize a thorough inspection of the cabin electronics, ride quality, and any signs of wear on a car that may have been optioned heavily.

Because this model is positioned as a luxury grand tourer, condition matters as much as mileage. Focus on how well the car has been maintained and whether any premium features are functioning as expected.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 BMW 8 Series?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient and compare listings carefully.

• Deal availability: 32.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 357 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 16.10% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 96.4% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $69,390, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 BMW 8 Series's resale value?

The current average of $69,691 sits slightly below last year's $83,069.

That drop suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy more affordably now. For a future seller, it also means you should expect depreciation to remain an important factor in total ownership cost.

If you plan to resell later, the best protection is to buy well, keep the car in strong condition, and avoid overpaying for options that may not return much value at trade-in time.

Should I buy a 2025 BMW 8 Series or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 32.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 96.4% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 16.10% compared with last year.

The bottom line: The 2025 is the better path if you want a luxury grand tourer with strong value momentum, solid inventory, and a high share of clean listings. If you’re more price-sensitive, a nearby model year may still be worth comparing, but the 2025 gives you a compelling mix of market softness and available inventory.
