Is the 2025 BMW 8 Series a good car?

The 2025 BMW 8 Series stands out as a luxury grand tourer that blends strong performance with a polished, high-tech cabin. It offers a comfortable but sporty ride and handling, along with strong engines, which helps it appeal to you if you want something more engaging than a typical luxury cruiser without giving up refinement. It also benefits from excellent rear passenger room, making it feel more practical than many cars in its class.

Its appeal is also tied to the breadth of equipment and the sense of occasion it brings. The interior is described as brimming with tech, and the car offers wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, over-the-air updates, in-car gaming, a standard head-up display, quad-zone climate control, USB-C charge ports, front seat massagers, a panoramic glass roof, and an available 31-inch theater screen with 5G connectivity and built-in Amazon Fire TV. BMW also offers a leather-free configuration, while the M Sport package adds uprated brakes and sports styling features. On the downside, expensive options, high depreciation, and a poor turning circle are worth keeping in mind, so the 2025 BMW 8 Series is best suited to you if you value performance and luxury enough to accept those tradeoffs.

34.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which suggests there is still room to shop selectively.

For a used buyer, the main long-term ownership risk is that high depreciation can make mistakes expensive if you overpay or skip a careful inspection.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 BMW 8 Series?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 94.9% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a vehicle history report and verify that the car’s records match its condition and mileage. Prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection, especially if the car has expensive options or performance-oriented equipment. Focus on overall condition, because a luxury grand tourer like this can be costly to refresh if previous ownership was careless.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 BMW 8 Series?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you stay disciplined.

• Deal availability: 34.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 350 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 17.18% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 94.9% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $68,650, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 BMW 8 Series's resale value?

The current average of $68,650 sits slightly below last year's $82,889.

That price drop suggests the market has already absorbed a meaningful amount of depreciation, which can help you as a buyer today. If you plan to sell later, though, the same trend means you should expect resale value to remain sensitive to mileage, condition, and how well the car is equipped. A well-kept example may hold up better than average, but you should still budget for depreciation as a major ownership cost.

Should I buy a 2025 BMW 8 Series or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 34.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 94.9% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 17.18% compared with last year.

The bottom line: The 2025 is the right path if you want a luxury grand tourer with strong performance, a polished cabin, and a market that currently gives you some negotiating room. If you are especially price-sensitive, a nearby model year may be worth comparing for a lower entry point, but the 2025 already looks attractive if you can find a clean example near the lower end of the range.
