Is the 2025 Audi A3 a good car?

The 2025 Audi A3 earns an expert rating of 7.67/10.

The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel and Performance.

You’re getting a small luxury sedan that feels more engaging than many shoppers might expect, with superior performance, nimbler handling, premium interior materials, and impressive technology. It also adds newly standard Quattro all-wheel drive and additional standard features for 2025, which strengthens its appeal if you want a compact car that feels upscale and well equipped.

The trade-offs are real: the back seat is cramped, cargo space is limited, and the lane-departure warning system is sketchy. Even so, the A3 makes sense if you value a fun-to-drive character and a polished cabin more than maximum space.

Is the 2025 Audi A3 reliable?

The 2025 Audi A3 is presented as a refined daily driver with a solid, structurally sound feel around town, and its standard turbocharged 2.0-liter engine and seven-speed dual-clutch automatic are described as satisfying in real-world driving. The refreshed model’s newly standard Quattro all-wheel drive also adds traction in bad weather, which helps broaden its usefulness.

Audi’s coverage is described as typical for the segment, and the A3’s overall package emphasizes quality materials, helpful technology, and an engaging driving experience. The performance tuning is strong enough that the car feels quick and nimble without needing to be pushed hard.

Audi also includes a basic set of driver-assistance features, and the available Adaptive Cruise Assist is described as excellent technology. For long-term ownership, the main risk for used buyers is that this is still a small luxury car with typical premium-car upkeep expectations, so condition and maintenance history matter.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Audi A3?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 93.7% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a vehicle history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re considering a higher-mileage example or one with optional equipment. Focus on cabin condition, electronics behavior, and how the car drives in everyday use, since the A3’s appeal depends heavily on its tech, refinement, and overall presentation.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: Premium and Premium Plus are the two trim packages, and the Premium Plus adds Adaptive Cruise Assist with adaptive cruise control, Lane Guidance, and hands-on detection. The base setup still includes Audi Pre Sense Front, lane-departure warning, rear cross-traffic alert, vehicle exit warning, and Audi Side Assist blind-spot monitoring.
• Powertrain: The A3 uses a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with 201 horsepower and 236 lb-ft of torque, paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic and Quattro AWD. It’s tuned for quick, nimble everyday driving and returns 28 mpg combined.
• Safety package: Audi Pre Sense Front brings forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, and standard driver aids also include lane-departure warning, rear cross-traffic alert, vehicle exit warning, and Audi Side Assist blind-spot monitoring. Premium Plus adds Adaptive Cruise Assist, Lane Guidance, and hands-on detection.
• Infotainment: Standard equipment includes a 10.25-inch digital instrumentation panel and a 10.1-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay, wireless Android Auto, Audi Connect services, and a six-speaker sound system. Premium Plus adds a Sonos premium sound system and SiriusXM 360L, while the Technology Package brings a 12.3-inch Audi Virtual Cockpit Plus display and navigation.
• Fuel efficiency: The A3 is EPA-rated at 28 mpg combined, and the evaluation loop returned 28.4 mpg.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Audi A3?

• Deal availability: 41.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.

• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.43% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 93.7% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $32,203, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Audi A3's resale value?

The current average of $32,203 sits slightly below last year's $35,166.

That decline suggests the A3 is currently in a softer pricing environment, which can help you buy more car for the money today. For a future seller, that also means resale value may be more sensitive to mileage, condition, and equipment than it would be in a stronger market.

If you plan to sell later, keeping the car clean, well maintained, and properly documented should matter more than usual. A well-optioned example with strong condition will likely hold up better than a bare-bones or heavily worn one.

Is the 2025 Audi A3 safe?

The 2025 Audi A3 earns a top rating in a small overlap front crash test from IIHS.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Audi equips every 2025 A3 with Audi Pre Sense Front, which packages forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking. Standard equipment also includes lane-departure warning, rear cross-traffic alert, a vehicle exit warning system, and Audi Side Assist blind-spot monitoring.

Premium Plus adds Adaptive Cruise Assist with adaptive cruise control, Lane Guidance with lane-keeping and lane-centering assist, and hands-on detection for the steering wheel. The main caveat is that the lane-departure warning system regularly issued false alerts, so you should pay attention to how that system behaves on your test drive.

Should I buy a 2025 Audi A3 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 41.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 93.7% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.43% compared with last year.
• The refreshed model adds newly standard Quattro all-wheel drive and additional standard features, which strengthens its appeal.

The bottom line: The 2025 A3 is the better pick if you want the refreshed version with standard AWD, strong tech, and a more engaging small-luxury-sedan feel. If you’re shopping mainly on price, a nearby model year may still be worth a look, but the 2025’s combination of softened pricing and added standard equipment makes it the more compelling target for most buyers.
