What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Volvo XC60?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 91.6% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a vehicle history report and verify that the listing matches the car’s condition and equipment. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that checks the cabin electronics, safety systems, and overall wear, since this model leans heavily on technology and premium features. Focus on signs of careful maintenance and consistent upkeep, especially if you want the best ownership experience from a luxury SUV.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Volvo XC60?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient.

• Deal availability: 34.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,425 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.55% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 91.6% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $37,463, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Volvo XC60's resale value?

The current average of $38,283 sits slightly below last year's $41,410.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled a bit, which can help you buy more confidently now but may also mean future resale gains are more limited. If you plan to sell later, the current softness could work against short-term appreciation, so condition and mileage will matter even more when it’s time to trade in or list the vehicle. Strong maintenance records and a clean history should help you preserve more of the value you pay today.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2024 Volvo XC60 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 34.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 91.6% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.55% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $33,076, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $38,283 average.
• It offers a plug-in hybrid setup that adds electric-only driving and longer-trip flexibility.

The bottom line: If you want the newer model-year pricing environment, strong inventory quality, and broad appeal, the 2024 is the better default choice. If your priority is spending less up front and you like the plug-in hybrid angle, the 2023 is the more budget-friendly alternative.
