Used 2024 Toyota Tundra for Sale nearMcAllen, TX

How much does the 2024 Toyota Tundra cost?

Prices have softened 7.26% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 5,159 listings available, which suggests solid inventory for shoppers comparing trims and prices.

Is the 2024 Toyota Tundra a good car?

Yes — with a 5/5 user rating and a 6.17/10 expert rating, you’re looking at a truck that clearly resonates with owners while still drawing a mixed expert verdict. The standout strength is Performance at 8/10.

The 2024 Toyota Tundra’s appeal centers on capability and character: it’s a large, Texas-built full-size pickup with a powerful drivetrain, and the TRD Pro setup adds ride and handling polish that makes it feel more composed than purely utilitarian. At the same time, it still trails the segment leader in towing and payload, and it offers less configuration diversity than some rivals.

The trade-offs are worth weighing carefully: the design may be polarizing, forward visibility is poor, and the interior materials feel cheap.

With 40.4% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a decent chance of finding a competitive price if you shop carefully.

Is the 2024 Toyota Tundra reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2024 Tundra’s reliability case leans heavily on Toyota’s reputation for dependability, and the truck’s own engineering focus reinforces that impression. The available i-Force Max setup is described as a hybrid version of the twin-turbo V6, and Toyota’s cost coverage includes complimentary scheduled maintenance visits to your dealership.

That said, you should still approach any used full-size truck with normal caution around wear, service history, and how hard it was worked. For a used buyer, the main long-term risk is less about the brand promise and more about finding a truck that was maintained well and not overtaxed.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Toyota Tundra?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 91.2% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re considering a truck that may have been used for towing, off-roading, or heavy commuting. Focus on overall condition, evidence of regular maintenance, and whether the truck’s equipment matches how you plan to use it.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Tundra spans a wide range from work-focused to luxury-leaning trims, and the base SR is the most stripped-down starting point. Higher trims add more comfort and convenience, while the TRD Pro emphasizes a more specialized personality.
• Powertrain: You get a twin-turbocharged 3.4-liter V6, and i-Force Max versions add a hybrid version of that engine with standard 4WD. The hybrid setup is the strongest performer, but it also likes premium gas.
• Safety package: Every 2024 Tundra has Toyota Safety Sense 2.5, which includes adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, lane-centering assist, road-sign recognition, and automatic high-beam headlights. Blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert and parking sensors with automatic braking require an option package on the SR5 or a Limited trim or higher.
• Infotainment: The TRD Pro tested here has a 14-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay, wireless Android Auto, wireless smartphone charging, and a 12.3-inch digital instrument panel. Connected services are part of the experience, so it’s worth checking which subscriptions are active.
• Fuel efficiency: The TRD Pro averaged 17.1 mpg in testing, versus an EPA estimate of 19 mpg combined.

Which 2024 Toyota Tundra trim should I buy?

The 2024 Toyota Tundra is offered in 8 trim levels: SR, SR5, Limited, Platinum, 1794 Edition, 1794 Limited Edition, TRD Pro, and Capstone.

Here's the short version:

• SR: This is the entry point, so it makes the most sense if you want the Tundra’s core capability at the lowest starting price and don’t need much extra equipment.
• SR5: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it sits early in the lineup while opening the door to more equipment and, with an option package, added safety hardware.
• Limited: This is the smart step up if you want a more complete daily-driver setup and prefer to get the extra safety equipment without jumping all the way to the top end.
• Platinum: Choose this if you want a more upscale feel and more comfort-focused equipment while staying below the most expensive luxury trims.
• 1794 Edition: This is for buyers who want a more distinctive, premium-leaning personality with a stronger sense of style.
• 1794 Limited Edition: This trim pushes further into the upscale side of the lineup and suits shoppers who want more exclusivity.
• TRD Pro: This is the one to buy if you want the most off-road-focused setup, plus the strongest performance character and the most composed ride-and-handling balance in the lineup.
• Capstone: This is the top-end choice for shoppers who want the most fully loaded Tundra experience.

Toyota Safety Sense 2.5 is standard across the lineup, but blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert and parking sensors with automatic braking require an option package on the SR5 or a Limited trim or higher.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Toyota Tundra?

It’s a buyer-friendly moment if you’re shopping carefully and comparing listings.

• Deal availability: 40.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 5,159 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.26% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 91.2% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $44,345, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Toyota Tundra's resale value?

The current average of $44,345 sits slightly below last year's $47,814.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled enough to give you more negotiating room today, but it also means a future seller may need to be realistic about expectations. If you buy well now, you’re starting from a lower cost basis than last year’s shoppers.

The Tundra’s reputation for dependability helps support long-term demand, especially among buyers who value Toyota ownership. If the truck remains well maintained and in strong condition, that should help it hold appeal when it’s time to sell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Toyota Tundra safe?

The 2024 Tundra earns Top Safety Pick recognition from IIHS, and the Tundra Crew Cab 4WD models earn five-star ratings across the board from NHTSA, with a four-star rollover resistance rating.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Toyota Safety Sense 2.5 is standard, and it includes adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, lane-centering assist, road-sign recognition, and automatic high-beam headlights. Blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert and parking sensors with automatic braking require an option package on the SR5 or a Limited trim or higher.

One important caveat is the IIHS moderate overlap frontal-impact result: the Tundra earns a Poor rating in the newer rear-seat-focused version of that test. Lane-centering assist also showed some inconsistency in testing.

Should I buy a 2024 Toyota Tundra or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 40.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 91.2% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.26% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It pairs strong capability with the TRD Pro’s composed ride and open-air personality.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $42,378, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $44,345 average.
• It keeps the redesigned truck’s modern powertrain and tech without major changes.

Consider the 2025 if:

• At $48,747, the 2025 costs more than the current year's $44,345 average.
• It adds more tech and a retro TRD Rally Package.

The bottom line: If you want the best balance of price, satisfaction, and current-market availability, the 2024 is the primary pick. If you’re more price-sensitive, the 2023 is the smarter value play, while the 2025 makes sense only if you specifically want the newer features and are willing to pay more.
