Used 2024 Toyota Tundra for Sale nearBloomington, IL

How much does the 2024 Toyota Tundra cost?

Prices have softened 6.99% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 5,173 listings available, which suggests solid inventory for shoppers comparing trims and conditions.

Is the 2024 Toyota Tundra a good car?

Yes — the 2024 Toyota Tundra earns a 5/5 user rating and a 6.17/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Performance at 8/10.

The Tundra stands out as a large, Texas-built full-size pickup that leans into capability and character. It offers a powerful drivetrain, a TRD Pro setup that improves ride and handling, and an open-air driving experience that gives it personality beyond pure utility.

The trade-offs are clear: it still cannot match the towing and payload leaders in the segment, and it offers less configuration diversity than some rivals. The design may be polarizing, forward visibility is poor, and the interior materials feel cheap.

For you, that means the 2024 Tundra makes the most sense if you value power, personality, and a truck that feels more composed than purely utilitarian. 37.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you room to shop selectively.

Is the 2024 Toyota Tundra reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2024 Tundra is framed around Toyota’s reputation for dependability, and the expert assessment reinforces that long-term durability is part of the appeal. The truck also comes with complimentary scheduled maintenance visits to your dealership, which helps reduce early ownership friction.

Its powertrain is described as a strong, modern setup, and Toyota’s own positioning emphasizes long-term reliability. That said, the expert verdict also notes that the jury is still out on how well this third-generation truck will hold up over many years, so used buyers should still pay close attention to service history and overall condition.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Toyota Tundra?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 91.5% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re considering a truck that’s been used for towing or off-road driving. Focus on overall condition, cabin wear, and evidence of hard use, since this model’s appeal depends heavily on how well it’s been maintained.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Tundra is offered in SR, SR5, Limited, Platinum, 1794 Edition, 1794 Limited Edition, TRD Pro, and Capstone. Base trims are more basic, while higher trims add more equipment and comfort, so you should compare feature content carefully before deciding.
• Powertrain: Every trim uses a twin-turbocharged 3.4-liter V6, with rear-wheel drive or four-wheel drive available. i-Force Max versions add a hybrid version of the V6 with standard 4WD, and the TRD Pro’s hybrid setup is the most powerful configuration described.
• Safety package: Toyota Safety Sense 2.5 is standard and includes adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, lane-centering assist, road-sign recognition, and automatic high-beam headlights. Blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert and parking sensors with automatic braking require an option package on SR5 or a Limited trim or higher.
• Infotainment: The TRD Pro has a 12.3-inch digital instrumentation panel and a 14-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Wireless Apple CarPlay and wireless Android Auto are standard, and the truck also includes wireless smartphone charging, a surround-view camera, and trailering assistance.
• Fuel efficiency: The TRD Pro averaged 17.1 mpg in testing, and the EPA figure cited for that setup is 19 mpg combined.

Which 2024 Toyota Tundra trim should I buy?

The 2024 Toyota Tundra is offered in 8 trim levels: SR, SR5, Limited, Platinum, 1794 Edition, 1794 Limited Edition, TRD Pro, and Capstone.

Here's the short version:

• SR: This is the entry point, so it makes sense if you want the Tundra’s core capability at the lowest starting point, but you should expect the fewest features.
• SR5: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it sits early in the lineup while opening the door to more equipment, including the option package needed for blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert.
• Limited: This is the trim to target if you want a more complete everyday truck, since it brings more standard content and also qualifies for the added safety equipment without needing the SR5 option package.
• Platinum: This is for you if you want a more upscale feel and more equipment without jumping all the way to the specialty trims.
• 1794 Edition: This is the choice if you want a more distinctive, premium-flavored Tundra with a stronger personality.
• 1794 Limited Edition: This sits above the 1794 Edition and is for shoppers who want an even more loaded version.
• TRD Pro: This is the standout choice if you want the most capable and most engaging version described here, with the strongest powertrain, off-road hardware, and the best ride-and-handling balance.
• Capstone: This is the top-end pick if you want the most luxurious, fully loaded Tundra in the lineup.

Toyota Safety Sense 2.5 is standard across the lineup, but blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert and parking sensors with automatic braking require either an SR5 option package or a Limited trim or higher.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Toyota Tundra?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 37.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 5,173 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.99% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 91.5% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $44,565, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Toyota Tundra's resale value?

The current average of $44,565 sits slightly below last year's $47,915.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled a bit, which can help you as a buyer today but may temper near-term resale gains if you plan to sell soon. A softer market often means future sellers need to lean more heavily on condition, mileage, and trim desirability to stand out.

The good news is that strong demand for well-kept trucks can still support value retention, especially when the vehicle has a strong reputation and broad appeal. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Toyota Tundra safe?

The 2024 Toyota Tundra earns a Top Safety Pick rating from IIHS and five-star ratings across the board from NHTSA, with a four-star rollover resistance rating.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Every 2024 Tundra has Toyota Safety Sense 2.5, which includes adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, lane-centering assist, road-sign recognition, and automatic high-beam headlights. Blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert and parking sensors with automatic braking require an option package on SR5 or a Limited trim or higher.

One important caveat is that the Tundra earns a Poor rating in the updated moderate overlap frontal-impact test that measures rear-seat passenger protection. The lane-centering assist system also drew criticism in testing for its behavior on curves and in bright sun.

Should I buy a 2024 Toyota Tundra or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 37.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 91.5% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.99% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It pairs strong performance with a TRD Pro setup that improves ride and handling while adding personality.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $42,542, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $44,565 average.
• It keeps the redesigned Tundra formula largely intact while adding an SX appearance package for SR5.

Consider the 2025 if:

• At $48,943, the 2025 costs more than the current year's $44,565 average.
• It adds new tech features and a retro TRD Rally Package.

The bottom line: If you want the best balance of current pricing, strong inventory, and the 2024 model year’s capability-focused appeal, the 2024 is the primary path to consider. If your budget is tighter, the 2023 is the smarter value play; if you want newer tech and are willing to pay more, the 2025 is the upgrade path.
