Used 2024 Toyota Tacoma for Sale nearLongview, TX

How much does the 2024 Toyota Tacoma cost?

Prices have softened 2.71% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 8,509 listings available, which suggests solid inventory for shoppers comparing trims and prices.

Is the 2024 Toyota Tacoma a good car?

Yes — it earns a 4.75/5 user rating and a 7.83/10 expert rating. The model scores 8/10 across Look and feel, Performance, Form and function, Cost effectiveness, and Safety.

The 2024 Tacoma is a ground-up redesign and the first Tacoma to share a platform with the larger Toyota Tundra, so you’re looking at a much newer mechanical foundation than the outgoing truck. It keeps the Tacoma formula intact with strong off-road capability and standard advanced driver-assistance tech, while adding more power and more modern infotainment.

The tradeoffs are real, though: the cabin can be noisy, the manual-adjust seats can be troublesome, and even the top trim still leans functional rather than plush. If you want a midsize truck that prioritizes durability and trail ability over luxury, that’s the right tradeoff; if you want a quieter, more polished daily driver, you may want to compare alternatives.

36.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2024 Toyota Tacoma reliable?

Owners rate it 4.75/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The Tacoma’s reliability case is reinforced by its long-standing reputation for durability and by Toyota’s emphasis on a simpler, truck-first formula. The new turbocharged four-cylinder setup is paired with an eight-speed automatic that is described as smooth and appropriately timed, and the truck’s updated steering system is said to have addressed the vagueness of the outgoing model.

Toyota also adds more modern driver-assistance hardware and standard equipment that should help the truck feel current over time. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about the Tacoma’s core toughness and more about choosing a truck whose condition, maintenance history, and trim-specific equipment have been cared for properly.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Toyota Tacoma?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 90.6% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report and inspect any candidate closely, even when the market looks clean. Pay extra attention to cabin condition, seat operation, and whether the truck’s equipment matches the trim you’re paying for. If you plan to use it as a daily driver, focus on road manners and interior wear as much as off-road hardware.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base SR uses 17-inch steel wheels, while most trims move to 17-inch alloys and TRD Sport and Limited get 18-inch alloys. The cabin is intentionally function-first, and even the Limited trim still emphasizes utility over softness.
• Powertrain: The standard 2.4-liter turbocharged four-cylinder produces 278 horsepower and 317 pound-feet of torque on most trims, while the base SR is tuned to 228 horsepower and 243 pound-feet. Rear-wheel drive and four-wheel drive are both available, and a six-speed manual remains on the menu.
• Safety package: Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 is standard and includes Lane Tracing Assist, lane-departure alert with steering assist, and Proactive Driving Assist. Road-sign assist and an emergency stop system are also new, while blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert is standard on all but the base trim.
• Infotainment: An 8-inch touchscreen is standard, higher trims get a 14-inch center display, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard. A wireless charging pad, dual front-row USB-C ports, and an optional JBL system with a removable portable speaker are also available.
• Fuel efficiency: The least-efficient version is expected to get 20 mpg combined, with 21 mpg combined for 4WD automatic models and up to 23 mpg combined with FWD.

Which 2024 Toyota Tacoma trim should I buy?

The 2024 Toyota Tacoma is offered in 6 trim levels: SR, SR5, TRD Pre-Runner, TRD Sport, TRD Off-Road, and Limited.

Here's the short version:

• SR: This is the entry point, and it gives you the new turbocharged four-cylinder, standard Toyota Safety Sense 3.0, and the Tacoma’s redesigned platform at the lowest price. It makes sense if you want the new-generation truck without paying for extra comfort or appearance upgrades.
• SR5: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds more everyday usability while staying closer to the core Tacoma formula. It’s the trim to target if you want a balanced mix of equipment and price.
• TRD Pre-Runner: Choose this if you want a more specialized truck character without moving all the way into the off-road-focused trims. It keeps the Tacoma’s rugged identity front and center.
• TRD Sport: This trim adds sport-tuned shocks and 18-inch alloy wheels, giving it a more road-oriented setup than the lower trims. It suits you if you want a sharper look and a more pavement-friendly feel.
• TRD Off-Road: This is the trim to buy if trail use matters most, since it gets monotube Bilstein shocks and leans into the Tacoma’s off-road strengths. It’s the right pick if capability matters more than luxury.
• Limited: This is the most comfort-focused gas trim, with heated and ventilated SofTex-trimmed seats and available adaptive variable suspension. It makes the most sense if you want the most upscale version of the gas Tacoma, even though the cabin still stays fairly utilitarian.

Blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert is standard on all but the base trim, where it can be added as part of a package.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Toyota Tacoma?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient.

• Deal availability: 36.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 8,509 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.71% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 90.6% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $37,823, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Toyota Tacoma's resale value?

The current average of $38,033 sits slightly below last year's $39,091.

That softer pricing can help you buy more carefully now, but it also suggests the truck is holding value in a fairly controlled way rather than swinging sharply. For a future seller, that kind of gradual movement is useful because it points to a market that still recognizes the Tacoma’s appeal without pushing prices higher than they need to be.

The Tacoma’s reputation for durability and strong buyer interest should continue to support demand when you eventually sell. Well-kept trucks with desirable equipment and clean histories should remain easier to move than average midsize pickups.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.75/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Toyota Tacoma safe?

The Tacoma still comes standard with Toyota Safety Sense 3.0, which now includes Lane Tracing Assist, lane-departure alert with steering assist, and Proactive Driving Assist.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Toyota also adds road-sign assist and an emergency stop system for 2024, and adaptive cruise control now offers four following-distance settings instead of three. Blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert is standard on all but the base trim, where it can be added as part of a package.

One caveat is that official crash-test ratings were not yet available in the source material, so you should weigh the Tacoma’s strong standard safety tech alongside the absence of published test results here.

Should I buy a 2024 Toyota Tacoma or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 36.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 90.6% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.71% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.75/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The redesign brings a new platform, standard wireless smartphone integration, and more advanced driver-assistance tech.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $35,857, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $38,033 average.
• It has a reputation for bullet-proof reliability.

The bottom line: Buy the 2024 if you want the redesigned Tacoma with more power, better tech, and stronger standard safety equipment. If your priority is saving money and you’re comfortable with the older generation’s more dated feel, the 2023 remains the value play.
