CarGurus Analysis: 2024 Toyota Sienna
overall

Summary
With 1,646 currently listed for sale and an average price of $45,238.00, 32.1% of 2024 Toyota Siennas for sale on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favorably reviewed: Owners rated the 2024 Toyota Sienna 4 / 5 stars and CarGurus experts gave it a 7.5 / 10.
91.3% of 2024 Sienna models on CarGurus are accident free.
Why it stands out
The 2024 Toyota Sienna stands out by blending minivan practicality with a more modern, efficiency-focused approach. Toyota offers it only as a fuel-sipping hybrid model with three rows of seating and power sliding doors, and it comes standard with plenty of safety features. The result is a family hauler that emphasizes comfort, value, and everyday usefulness while still trying to keep pace with changing buyer expectations.
Its biggest appeal is efficiency, since the standard hybrid engine delivers impressive fuel economy. The Sienna also offers optional all-wheel drive, and many shoppers may appreciate its dramatic exterior styling. At the same time, it is not trying to be a performance vehicle, and its acceleration is described as fairly pedestrian. The technology is also said to be a bit outdated, and the second-row seats cannot be removed, which may matter to buyers who want maximum cargo flexibility.

The hybrid system is excellent, it is rated for 36 mpg, however purchasing the new Sienna from Apex, North Carolina and driving it back to NY, it averaged 45 mpg for more than 500 miles, of course under mild driving.

The vehicle has some nice features but the technology is not keeping up with other automakers. According to some reviews, the line has some issues that the automaker does not take seriously and passes them off as (normal). Specifically the problem with starting the vehicle and braking quirks.

| Metric | Value |

| Year-Round High | $47,161.29 |

Prices have softened 3.77% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.
There are 1,632 listings available, which gives you a decent amount of inventory to compare.
If you find a listing below $39,948.56, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
Is the 2024 Toyota Sienna a good car?
Generally — the 2024 Toyota Sienna earns a 4/5 user rating and a 7.5/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Cost effectiveness at 9/10.
The Sienna’s appeal is rooted in its standard hybrid powertrain, three rows of seating, and family-friendly practicality. It also stands out for efficiency and standard safety equipment, which makes it especially compelling if you want a minivan that helps keep fuel costs down.
The trade-offs are clear: performance is fairly pedestrian, and the technology feels dated compared with newer rivals. That said, if your priorities are space, comfort, and value for family duty, the Sienna fits the brief well.
32.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which suggests there are still some attractive opportunities if you shop carefully.
Is the 2024 Toyota Sienna reliable?
Owners rate it 4/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.
The Sienna’s reliability case is helped by its standard hybrid setup, which is built around efficiency and everyday usability rather than complexity for its own sake. The expert evaluation also points to strong practicality, good comfort, and a powertrain that is designed to deliver consistent family-hauling duty.
Toyota’s warranty coverage includes two years or 25,000 miles of scheduled maintenance, whichever comes first, which is a useful ownership perk. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about outright durability and more about whether the vehicle has been maintained well enough to preserve its efficiency and comfort.
What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Toyota Sienna?
Accident-free inventory is excellent at 91.2% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
You should still run a history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re considering a higher-mileage example or one with a lot of family-use wear. Focus on interior condition, seat operation, and whether the tech and driver-assistance features work as expected. Because this model is often chosen for daily family duty, signs of heavy use can matter more than the odometer alone.
Key things to evaluate:
- Trim level: The base LE comes with cloth seats, three-zone climate control, room for eight, and standard LED lighting, while upper trims add features like Bi-LED projector headlamps, heated and cooled leather-trimmed front seats, and a built-in vacuum cleaner.
- Powertrain: Every version uses a 2.5-liter four-cylinder hybrid setup with two electric motors and a total output of 245 horsepower; all-wheel drive adds a rear motor, but acceleration remains modest.
- Safety package: Toyota Safety Sense is standard and includes lane departure alert, automatic emergency braking with pedestrian and cyclist detection, road sign recognition, full-speed adaptive cruise control, automatic high beams, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert.
- Infotainment: You get a nine-inch touchscreen with wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 7-inch digital display in the gauge cluster, a standard Wi-Fi hotspot, and available upgrades like a 12-speaker JBL stereo.
- Fuel efficiency: The hybrid powertrain returns 36 mpg in front-wheel-drive models, with slightly lower efficiency in all-wheel-drive versions.
Which 2024 Toyota Sienna trim should I buy?
The 2024 Toyota Sienna is offered in 6 trim levels: LE, XLE, XSE, Woodland Edition, Limited and Platinum.
Here's the short version:
- Base trim: The LE gives you the essentials, but you miss out on the more upscale lighting, leather-trimmed seating, and convenience upgrades found higher up the range.
- Sweet-spot trim: The XLE is the most balanced choice if you want a step up in comfort and features without chasing the highest-priced versions.
- Premium/top trim: Platinum is the best fit if you want the most luxury-oriented Sienna, with the richest feature set in the lineup.
- Off-road trim: Woodland Edition is the one to consider if you want the extra ground clearance and trail-friendly hardware, though it’s more specialized than most family buyers need.
Toyota Safety Sense is standard across the lineup, so you’re not forced into a higher trim just to get core driver-assistance features.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Toyota Sienna?
This is a moderate market for selective buyers, with enough inventory to shop around but still some room for value if you move quickly on the right listing.
- Deal availability: 32.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 1,632 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 3.77% compared with last year.
- Clean inventory: 91.2% of listings are accident-free.
If you find a listing below $39,948.56, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2024 Toyota Sienna's resale value?
The current average of $45,238 sits slightly below last year's $47,009.
That softer pricing can help you buy at a more favorable point in the cycle, but it also means future resale will depend heavily on how well the vehicle holds its current value from here. If prices stabilize, a clean, well-kept Sienna should remain appealing because it combines family utility with strong fuel economy.
For a future seller, the biggest advantage is that shoppers looking for a practical minivan often respond well to efficiency and standard safety equipment. A well-maintained example with desirable features should be easier to position than one showing heavy wear or missing equipment.
Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Is the 2024 Toyota Sienna safe?
The 2024 Toyota Sienna earns four-star ratings in frontal crash and rollover, and five-star ratings in side crash protection from NHTSA. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety gives it a Good rating in crashworthiness and seat belt and child restraint systems.
It earns a 8/10 safety score from our experts.
Toyota Safety Sense is standard across the board and includes lane departure alert, automatic emergency braking that can detect a pedestrian or cyclist, road sign recognition, full-speed adaptive cruise control, and automatic high beams. Blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are also standard.
One caveat is that front crash prevention is rated Average, so you should still treat the driver-assistance suite as a helpful layer of protection rather than a substitute for attentive driving.
Should I buy a 2024 Toyota Sienna or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

- Price trend: Prices have softened 3.77% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 4/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
- It pairs strong efficiency with standard safety features and family-friendly practicality.
Consider the 2023 if:
- At $42,428, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $45,238 average.
