How much does the 2024 Toyota RAV4 cost?

Prices are up 3.87% year-over-year — a sign of continued demand for this model year.

There are 9,713 listings available, which suggests you should have a healthy number of options to compare.

Is the 2024 Toyota RAV4 a good car?

Yes — the 2024 Toyota RAV4 earns a 4.8/5 user rating and a 7/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Form and function at 9/10.

Owners consistently praise its comfort, spacious interior, and available tech, including the large touchscreen. The expert review also points to its reputation for reliability, plenty of utility, and generous ownership perks.

The trade-offs are that it can feel noisy and dull to drive, and the safety ratings are not especially impressive. For you, that means the RAV4 makes the most sense if you want a practical compact SUV rather than something engaging behind the wheel.

Good and great deals account for 41.1% of listings, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2024 Toyota RAV4 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner summary highlights reliability-adjacent strengths like comfort, useful features, and a spacious cabin that many drivers appreciate over time. The expert review also describes the RAV4 as dependable and notes its reputation for bulletproof dependability.

Toyota also includes free scheduled maintenance for two years or 25,000 miles, which helps reduce early ownership costs. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that this generation is starting to show its age, so condition and maintenance history matter a lot.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Toyota RAV4?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 89.3% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still run a history report on any listing you like, even if it looks clean at first glance. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection if you’re considering a higher-mileage example or one with incomplete service records. Focus on overall condition, because this model’s value depends heavily on how well it has been maintained.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The gas lineup ranges from LE to TRD Off-Road, and the higher trims bring a more upscale cabin with contrast-color interior choices in the XLE Premium or Limited. The base LE also misses blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, so you may want to move up if that matters to you.
• Powertrain: The gas model uses a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine with 203 horsepower and an eight-speed automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive is standard unless you choose the torque-vectoring all-wheel drive system.
• Safety package: Toyota Safety Sense 2.5 is standard, including adaptive cruise control and lane-centering assist. The base LE does not include blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert.
• Infotainment: The Toyota Audio Multimedia system includes a standard 8-inch touchscreen and an available 10.5-inch screen, plus wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It also supports connected services, including Safety Connect and Remote Connect.
• Fuel efficiency: The TRD Off-Road is rated at 28 mpg in combined driving, and the hybrid version is described as more fuel-efficient at 37 mpg.

Which 2024 Toyota RAV4 trim should I buy?

The 2024 Toyota RAV4 is offered in 4 trim levels: LE, XLE Premium, Limited, and TRD Off-Road.

Here's the short version:

• LE: This is the entry point, but it is also the trim where you give up blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert. It makes sense if your priority is getting into a RAV4 at the lowest price, but you should know the safety feature gap before you buy.
• XLE Premium: This is the best-value choice if you want a more upscale cabin without jumping all the way to the top of the range. The contrast-color interior choices make it feel noticeably nicer than the base trim.
• Limited: Choose this if you want the most upscale gas-model experience and are willing to pay for it. It builds on the RAV4’s practical strengths with a more premium-feeling interior.
• TRD Off-Road: This is the most specialized trim, with off-road suspension tuning, an underbody skid plate, all-terrain tires, and Multi-Terrain Select. It is the least cost-effective gas version, so it makes the most sense only if you specifically want its rugged setup and improved ride quality.

The base LE’s missing blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert is the key safety-package note to keep in mind.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Toyota RAV4?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop patiently but still move quickly on the right listing.

• Deal availability: 41.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 9,713 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices are up 3.87% year-over-year.
• Clean inventory: 89.3% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $27,577, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Toyota RAV4's resale value?

The current average of $30,672 sits slightly above last year's $29,527.

That upward move suggests the RAV4 continues to hold buyer interest well in the used market. If you own one, that kind of pricing trend can help support your resale position when it’s time to sell. It also means well-kept examples should remain relatively easy to move, especially if they have clean history and strong equipment.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Toyota RAV4 safe?

The 2024 Toyota RAV4 does not qualify for an IIHS Top Safety Pick award and has a Marginal rating in the latest small overlap frontal-impact crash test, plus an Acceptable rating in the latest side-impact test.

It earns a 5/10 safety score from our experts.

Toyota Safety Sense 2.5 is standard, and it includes adaptive cruise control and lane-centering assist. The system works best on straighter highways, while the review notes that the lane-centering assist can be a bit lazy and the braking can be overly cautious in some traffic situations.

For you, the main safety caveat is that the RAV4’s crash-test performance trails the best in class, so you should weigh its standard driver aids against those weaker results.

Should I buy a 2024 Toyota RAV4 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 41.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 89.3% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices are up 3.87% year-over-year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It remains a dependable, roomy, and practical compact SUV with generous ownership perks.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $29,699, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $30,672 average.
• It kept the styling while updating the infotainment system.

The 2024 is the better pick if you want the latest version of this generation and are comfortable paying a bit more for it. If your priority is saving money, the 2023 is the smarter path because it delivers much of the same core RAV4 formula for less.
