How much does the 2024 Subaru WRX cost?

Prices have softened 3.65% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 973 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of used WRX options to compare.

Is the 2024 Subaru WRX a good car?

The 2024 Subaru WRX stands out because it keeps the formula that made the nameplate famous: a turbocharged Boxer engine, standard Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive, and a setup aimed squarely at enthusiasts who want a practical sports car. It is also part of the WRX’s latest generation, which debuted for the 2022 model year and is sedan-only. For buyers who value all-weather traction and a manual transmission, that combination remains a major part of the WRX’s appeal.

More broadly, the WRX lineup offers a mix of performance and everyday usability, with features such as Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and available upgrades like an 11.6-inch touchscreen, heated front seats, a blind-spot monitor with rear cross-traffic alert, and adaptive dampers on higher trims. The 2024 model also adds a new TR trim level with a Brembo braking system, 19-inch alloy wheels, Recaro sport seats, and retuned suspension settings for increased performance.

There are tradeoffs, though. The WRX’s pros include fun-to-drive handling and standard all-wheel drive, while its cons include outdated technology, a cramped back seat in older models, and poor fuel economy. Even so, the 2024 Subaru WRX remains distinctive because it delivers rally-bred character in a mainstream package without giving up the practicality that helps it fit into daily life. 34.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2024 Subaru WRX reliable?

The 2024 Subaru WRX stands out because it keeps the formula that made the nameplate famous: a turbocharged Boxer engine, standard Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive, and a setup aimed squarely at enthusiasts who want a practical sports car. It is also part of the WRX’s latest generation, which debuted for the 2022 model year and is sedan-only. For buyers who value all-weather traction and a manual transmission, that combination remains a major part of the WRX’s appeal.

The WRX’s strengths include fun-to-drive handling and standard all-wheel drive, while its drawbacks include outdated technology and poor fuel economy. That means you should expect a car that prioritizes engagement and traction over polish.

For used buyers, the long-term ownership risk is less about the concept and more about how hard the car was driven and maintained.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Subaru WRX?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 89.4% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the car has been modified or driven aggressively. Focus on overall condition, maintenance records, and signs of wear that could point to hard use rather than normal commuting.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Subaru WRX?

This is a moderate market, so you can be selective without expecting every listing to be a bargain.

• Deal availability: 34.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 973 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.65% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 89.4% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $30,154, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Subaru WRX's resale value?

The current average of $30,165 sits slightly below last year's $31,308.

That price trend suggests the WRX has softened enough to help you buy more carefully today. If you sell later, you may not see the same level of price support that existed a year ago, so condition and mileage will matter more. A well-kept example should still appeal to enthusiast shoppers, but the market is currently favoring buyers more than sellers.

Should I buy a 2024 Subaru WRX or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 34.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 89.4% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.65% compared with last year.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $27,623, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $30,165 average.
• It keeps the same enthusiast-focused formula with no reported changes.

The bottom line: Choose the 2024 if you want the newer model-year pricing context and the added TR trim in the market. If you are price-sensitive, the 2023 is the better value play because it delivers the same core WRX character for less money.
