New & Used 2026 Subaru WRX for Sale nearPortland, OR

Is the 2026 Subaru WRX a good car?

The 2026 Subaru WRX is a compelling performance sedan if you want driving enjoyment and traction more than efficiency or rear-seat space. It keeps the formula that made the nameplate famous: a turbocharged Boxer engine, standard Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive, and a practical sedan body.

For 2026, Subaru says the base WRX returns as the new entry point below the Premium trim, prices are cut across the board compared with 2025, and proximity key entry with push-button start is now standard on every trim. The lineup also gives you a wide spread of trims and equipment, including a six-speed manual transmission or the optional automatic Subaru Performance Transmission with paddle shifters.

The tradeoffs are clear: the WRX’s strengths are fun-to-drive handling and standard all-wheel drive, while outdated technology, a cramped back seat in older models, and poor fuel economy remain part of the package. With 34.5% of listings marked as good or great deals, the market gives you a moderate amount of room to shop selectively.

Is the 2026 Subaru WRX reliable?

The 2026 Subaru WRX continues with the same core formula that has defined the nameplate: a turbocharged Boxer engine, standard Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive, and a practical sedan body. That consistency can be reassuring if you want a familiar performance setup rather than a radically changed design.

Subaru also keeps the car focused on everyday usability, with standard proximity key entry and push-button start across the lineup for 2026. At the same time, the WRX is still positioned as an enthusiast car, so you should expect a used example to have seen more spirited driving than a typical commuter sedan.

For long-term ownership, your biggest risk is buying a car that has been driven hard or maintained inconsistently, so condition and service history matter more than mileage alone.

What should I look for when buying a used 2026 Subaru WRX?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 95.5% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report and verify that the car’s records match its mileage and condition. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that focuses on signs of hard use, uneven wear, and any issues tied to performance driving. Pay close attention to overall condition, because a used WRX is the kind of car where cosmetic wear and mechanical wear can tell you a lot about how it was treated.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2026 Subaru WRX?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient and compare examples carefully.

Should I buy a 2026 Subaru WRX or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2026 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2026 if:

• 34.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 95.5% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

The bottom line: The 2026 WRX is the right path if you want the latest version of Subaru’s performance sedan with standard all-wheel drive, updated pricing, and a broad trim range. If you’re more price-sensitive, a nearby model year may give you a similar driving experience for less, so it’s worth comparing condition, equipment, and asking price across the market before you decide.
