Is the 2024 Subaru Legacy a good car?

Yes — the 2024 Subaru Legacy earns a 5/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. The overview shows why: you get standard all-wheel drive, a more spacious interior, a stiffer chassis, better ride quality, and a quieter cabin, all of which make it appealing if you want a comfortable midsize sedan with a more relaxed, refined feel. It also stands out for making AWD part of the package rather than an upgrade, which is a major differentiator in this class. With 34.7% of listings marked as good or great deals, you also have a decent chance of finding a favorable price.

Is the 2024 Subaru Legacy reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The overview points to a sedan built around safety and comfort, with standard EyeSight, standard all-wheel drive, and a quieter, more refined cabin than before. Those traits suggest a car designed to be easy to live with over time, especially if you value predictable everyday use over flashier performance. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about the concept and more about making sure the specific car you choose has been maintained well and hasn’t been worn down by neglect.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Subaru Legacy?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 88.1% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the history report carefully so you can confirm the car’s background and spot any prior damage or title issues. A thorough pre-purchase inspection should focus on overall condition, since the Legacy’s appeal depends heavily on comfort, cabin quality, and how well the car has been kept. Pay close attention to signs of wear inside and out, because a clean, well-maintained example is more likely to deliver the refined driving experience this model is meant to provide.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Subaru Legacy?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 34.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,071 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.01% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 88.1% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $23,750, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Subaru Legacy's resale value?

The current average of $24,803 sits slightly below last year's $25,572.

That price movement suggests the Legacy is currently trading at a softer level than it was a year ago, which can help you buy in at a more favorable point. If you plan to sell later, the same trend means your return will depend heavily on how well the car holds up and how clean its history is. A well-kept example should be easier to move than one with visible wear or a questionable background, especially in a market where shoppers can compare plenty of listings.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2024 Subaru Legacy or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 34.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 88.1% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.01% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want the most current version of this generation’s formula, the 2024 is the right place to start because it combines standard AWD, a refined ride, and strong owner satisfaction with a market that still offers meaningful deal potential. If your priority is stretching your budget further, a nearby year may be worth a look, but the 2024 is the better fit when you want the latest model-year balance of comfort, safety, and value.
