What should I look for when buying a used 2024 RAM 3500 Chassis?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 90.2% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a vehicle history report and verify that the listing matches the truck’s actual condition and use history. Prioritize a thorough inspection of the chassis, body, and any signs of heavy-duty wear, since condition matters more when you’re shopping a work-focused vehicle. Focus on maintenance records and overall presentation so you can separate a well-kept example from one that has been worked hard.

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you have room to compare listings and wait for the right one.

• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.91% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $54,565, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 RAM 3500 Chassis's resale value?

The current average of $55,036 sits slightly below last year's $61,778.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy more carefully today. If you plan to sell later, a lower entry price can reduce your exposure to depreciation from here. For a future seller, the key will be buying well now and keeping the truck in strong condition.

Should I buy a 2024 RAM 3500 Chassis or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 31.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 90.2% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.91% compared with last year.

The bottom line: The 2024 is the better choice if you want a year with meaningful inventory, a solid share of clean listings, and a softer price environment than a year ago. If your priority is stretching your budget as far as possible, you can also compare nearby years and target whichever one gives you the best combination of condition and asking price.
