Why it stands out
The 2024 RAM 1500 stands out for blending full-size pickup capability with a notably refined driving experience. Ram’s redesign gave the truck an updated frame, mild hybrid technology, and a plush interior with the brand’s latest infotainment and driver-assistance technology. It also kept the focus on comfort and space, which helps explain why the Ram 1500 has long been known for its smooth ride and roomy cabin.
For 2024, the lineup is broad enough to suit both work-truck buyers and shoppers looking for more upscale touches. The truck is offered in Tradesman, Big Horn, Rebel, Limited Longhorn, and Limited trims, with rear-wheel drive or four-wheel drive, a long or short bed, and regular, Crew Cab, or Quad Cab body styles. Buyers can choose from a diesel, a V6, or two different Hemi V8 engines, and some versions include a mild-hybrid system. Available equipment such as a 12-inch touchscreen, a 19-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, and advanced driver aids adds to its appeal, while the Ram 1500’s strong safety recognition from 2019 to 2023 reinforces its upscale, well-rounded character.
There are tradeoffs, though. The Ram 1500’s tow ratings tend to lag the competition, and advanced driver aids are only offered on higher trims. Some owners also say the fuel economy can fall short of expectations in real-world driving. Even so, the 2024 RAM 1500 remains distinctive because it combines truck utility with a more polished, comfortable feel than many buyers expect from a full-size pickup.

Great value for the price, roughly 7k below average price for this model truck, under 50k miles. I was hoping for LED headlamps, and the tires are a little worn, but the truck is in great condition, like new. Interior is fantastic. All leather, stereo is amazing.

How much does the 2024 RAM 1500 cost?
| Metric | Value |
|---|---|
| Current Average Price | $37,057 |
| Year-Round Low | $34,879 |
| Year-Round High | $39,333 |
| Average Price a Year Ago | $39,345 |
| Change vs. Last Year | −5.81% |
Prices have softened 5.81% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.
There are 9,762 listings available, which suggests you have a healthy amount of inventory to compare.
Is the 2024 RAM 1500 a good car?
Yes — the 5/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Drivers consistently praise the spacious interior, comfortable ride, and feature-rich feel, and many also like the performance, especially in the TRX. For you, that means this truck makes the most sense if you want a full-size pickup that feels more polished and comfortable than a typical work-focused model. With 36.1% of listings marked as good or great deals, you still have room to shop selectively.
Is the 2024 RAM 1500 reliable?
Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
The user feedback also points to a truck that feels dependable in daily use, with owners repeatedly highlighting comfort, space, and a trouble-free ownership experience. That said, some drivers note that real-world fuel economy can fall short of expectations, so long-term ownership risk is more about operating costs than basic satisfaction.
What should I look for when buying a used 2024 RAM 1500?
Accident-free inventory is solid at 89.9% — always verify the vehicle history report.
You should start with a history report to confirm there are no hidden accident or title issues. Then prioritize a thorough inspection of the cabin, electronics, and drivetrain, since this truck’s appeal depends heavily on condition and feature functionality. Focus on how well the truck has been maintained, because a polished used example should still feel refined and well-kept.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 RAM 1500?
This is a moderate market, so you can shop carefully without feeling rushed.
- Deal availability: 36.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 9,762 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 5.81% compared with last year.
- Clean inventory: 89.9% of listings are accident-free.
If you find a listing below $34,879, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2024 RAM 1500's resale value?
The current average of $37,057 sits slightly below last year's $39,345.
That price movement suggests the truck has softened enough to give you a better entry point today, but it also means future resale will depend on how well the market holds up. If you buy at the right price and keep the truck in strong condition, you should be in a better position when it comes time to sell. Strong demand for a comfortable, well-equipped pickup can help support value over time.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Should I buy a 2024 RAM 1500 or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2024 if:
- 36.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Accident-free inventory is solid at 89.9% — always verify the vehicle history report.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 5.81% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
Consider the 2023 if:
- At $35,719, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $37,057 average.
- It emphasizes comfort and refinement with a polished cabin.
Consider the 2025 if:
- At $42,857, the 2025 costs more than the current year's $37,057 average.
- It adds major tech and powertrain upgrades.
The bottom line: You should start with the 2024 if you want the best balance of price, satisfaction, and current-market availability. If your budget is tighter, the 2023 is the better value play, while the 2025 makes sense if you want the newest updates and are willing to pay more.
