Used 2024 Nissan Z for Sale nearChicago, IL

How much does the 2024 Nissan Z cost?

Prices have softened 2.94% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 283 listings available, which gives you a modest amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2024 Nissan Z a good car?

Yes — owners rate it 4.5/5, and the expert rating is 6.7/10. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel and Performance.

Owners consistently praise the vintage-inspired design, strong performance, and driving experience. The Z also stands out for its manual transmission availability, which adds to its appeal if you want a more involved sports-car feel.

The trade-offs are clear: it is not especially practical, with limited cargo space, and it is described as poor value for money. The overview also points to a performance-first character, so you should expect compromises in everyday usability.

With 37.5% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2024 Nissan Z reliable?

Owners rate it 4.5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a car that feels dependable in the ways sports-car shoppers care about most: strong performance, a satisfying driving experience, and a design that owners continue to enjoy over time. The emphasis on a true sports-car character also suggests this is a model people tend to keep and appreciate rather than quickly move on from.

The expert drive notes reinforce that the Z’s core hardware is built for sustained enthusiast use, with a rear-wheel-drive layout and a limited-slip differential. Nissan also backs it with three years or 36,000 miles of basic coverage and five years or 60,000 miles of powertrain coverage.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that a performance-focused car can be more sensitive to hard use, so condition matters a lot.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Nissan Z?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 91.9% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a vehicle history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially because this is a performance-oriented sports car. Focus on signs of hard use, uneven wear, and any evidence that the car has been driven aggressively or modified. If you want the best ownership experience, pay close attention to ride quality, tire condition, and overall cabin and exterior condition.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base Z Sport gets an 8-inch touchscreen, wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a six-speaker audio system, while the Performance and NISMO trims upgrade to a 9-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay, and a Bose eight-speaker audio system. The NISMO also adds Recaro seats and more aggressive styling details.
• Powertrain: All models use a 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged V6 with rear-wheel drive and a limited-slip differential. Sport and Performance models offer six-speed manual or nine-speed automatic transmissions, while the NISMO uses the automatic only.
• Safety package: All models include adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, blind spot monitoring, rear cross traffic alert, lane departure warning, automatic high beams, and forward collision warning.
• Infotainment: Base models use an 8-inch touchscreen with wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Performance and NISMO models move to a 9-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay, a built-in Wi-Fi hotspot, and a Bose audio system.
• Fuel efficiency: EPA fuel economy ratings for 2024 models were not available at the time of publication.

Which 2024 Nissan Z trim should I buy?

The 2024 Nissan Z is offered in 3 trim levels: Sport, Performance, NISMO.

Here's the short version:

• Sport: This is the entry point, but it still gives you the core Z experience with the twin-turbo V6, rear-wheel drive, a limited-slip differential, a manual transmission option, and the basic infotainment setup. It makes the most sense if you want the Z’s character without paying for extras you may not need.
• Performance: This is the best-value trim if you want the strongest balance of equipment and price. It adds the larger touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay, a Wi-Fi hotspot, Bose audio, and upgraded wheels and tires, making it the sweet spot for most shoppers.
• NISMO: This is the most track-focused version, with more power, stiffer chassis tuning, upgraded brakes, and additional performance hardware. It suits you best if you want the most serious Z and are willing to pay for it.

All models include the same basic driver-assistance features.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Nissan Z?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 37.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 283 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.94% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 91.9% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $41,635, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Nissan Z's resale value?

The current average of $41,963 sits slightly below last year's $43,232.

That softer pricing suggests the market has eased a bit, which can help you buy more confidently now. For a future seller, it also means resale value may depend heavily on condition, mileage, and how well the car has been maintained.

Because this is a niche sports car, clean examples with desirable equipment should hold buyer interest better than rough or heavily used ones. The current pricing trend also suggests there is still demand, but buyers have become more selective.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Nissan Z safe?

It earns a 6/10 safety score from our experts.

All Nissan Z models include adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, blind spot monitoring, rear cross traffic alert, lane departure warning, automatic high beams, and forward collision warning.

The main caveat is that crash-test ratings from IIHS and NHTSA were not available at the time of publication, so you should lean more heavily on the standard driver-assistance equipment and a careful inspection of the specific car you’re considering.

Should I buy a 2024 Nissan Z or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 37.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 91.9% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.94% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2024 adds the Z NISMO, which brings more power, a stiffened chassis, and upgraded brakes.

Consider the 2023 if:

• It offers a fresh redesign with a stylish, performance-focused feel and strong value.

The bottom line: If you want the newest version with the added NISMO option and a softer market, the 2024 is the better target. If your priority is value and you’re comfortable stepping back a year, the 2023 remains appealing for its style and performance focus.
