How much does the 2024 Mercedes-Benz E-Class cost?

Prices have softened 8.11% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,031 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2024 Mercedes-Benz E-Class a good car?

The 2024 Mercedes-Benz E-Class earns an 8.3/10 expert rating, and it is positioned as a refined, sophisticated midsize luxury sedan with a cabin that leans heavily into technology and upscale materials. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel, Performance, and Technology.

That makes it especially appealing if you want a luxury sedan that feels polished and substantial rather than flashy. The trade-offs are clear: high price and poor fuel economy, plus minor driving assistance irritations.

With 35.8% of listings priced as good or great deals, you have some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2024 Mercedes-Benz E-Class reliable?

The 2024 Mercedes-Benz E-Class is presented as a modern, well-rounded luxury sedan with mild-hybrid engines and standard all-wheel drive, and its expert review emphasizes a calm, refined driving experience. Its powertrain is described as swift in everyday use, with the mild-hybrid system helping support efficiency and smooth operation.

The expert review also notes that the car’s technology is sophisticated and generally intuitive, which supports the sense that it is built to feel current and polished. The first scheduled maintenance visit is complimentary, which is a useful ownership perk if you are comparing long-term running costs.

For a used buyer, the main long-term risk is that a highly optioned luxury car can become expensive to keep satisfying if you want everything working exactly as intended.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Mercedes-Benz E-Class?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 90.3% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the car has a long option list or advanced driver-assistance equipment. Focus on overall condition, how the technology operates, and whether the car’s features match the listing description.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The E-Class comes in E 350 4Matic and E 450 4Matic models in sedan form. The E 350 4Matic is the more accessible choice, while the E 450 4Matic adds more power and is the better fit if you want stronger acceleration. Mercedes also packages many of the most desirable comfort, technology, and safety features into option packages, so a lower trim can feel light on equipment if it lacks those extras.
• Powertrain: The E 350 4Matic uses a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder with 255 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque, while the E 450 4Matic uses a turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six with 375 hp and 369 lb-ft. Both use a nine-speed automatic, standard 4Matic all-wheel drive, and a 48-volt mild-hybrid system.
• Safety package: The Driver Assistance Package adds 15 technologies, including upgraded Pre-Safe features, Active Emergency Stop Assist, adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping, lane-centering, lane-change systems, Automatic Lane Change, Active Speed Limit Assist, and Route-based Speed Adaptation. It is not standard, so you should verify whether a used example has it.
• Infotainment: Standard equipment includes a 12.3-inch digital instrument display and a 14.4-inch infotainment touchscreen. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are included, along with a navigation system, Wi-Fi hotspot access, and over-the-air-style personalization through saved vehicle settings and driver profiles.
• Fuel efficiency: The E 350 is rated at 27 mpg in combined driving, though the test vehicle returned 23.8 mpg.

Which 2024 Mercedes-Benz E-Class trim should I buy?

The 2024 Mercedes-Benz E-Class is offered in 2 trim levels: E 350 4Matic and E 450 4Matic.

Here's the short version:

• E 350 4Matic: This is the better-value choice if you want the E-Class experience without paying for extra power you may not need. It still gives you the redesigned cabin, standard all-wheel drive, mild-hybrid assistance, and the core luxury-tech appeal that defines the car.
• E 450 4Matic: Choose this if you want the stronger engine and quicker acceleration. It is the more powerful version, but the rest of the E-Class formula remains the same, so you are mainly paying for performance.

The Driver Assistance Package is the key safety add-on to look for if you want the fullest set of driver-assistance features.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Mercedes-Benz E-Class?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 35.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,031 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.11% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 90.3% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $53,081, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Mercedes-Benz E-Class's resale value?

The current average of $53,081 sits slightly below last year's $57,766.

That price movement suggests the model has softened enough to create a better entry point for used buyers than it had a year ago. If you buy well now, you may have less downside risk than someone who paid closer to the prior average.

For a future seller, the key is that the car is still a premium, in-demand luxury sedan, but you should expect resale value to depend heavily on condition, mileage, and equipment. Well-optioned examples with the right features should be easier to position than stripped or neglected ones.

Is the 2024 Mercedes-Benz E-Class safe?

The 2024 Mercedes-Benz E-Class earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Every 2024 E-Class includes numerous safety features, but if you want the full set of advanced driver-assistance systems, you need the Driver Assistance Package. That package adds upgraded Pre-Safe pre-collision features, Active Emergency Stop Assist, adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping, lane-centering, lane-change systems, Automatic Lane Change, Active Speed Limit Assist, and Route-based Speed Adaptation.

The expert review notes that the system works well overall, but lane-centering can feel a little unsure on curvier roads, and the speed-limit-based braking behavior can be irritating in fast-moving traffic. Those are worth checking during your test drive if you plan to rely on the car’s driver aids often.

Should I buy a 2024 Mercedes-Benz E-Class or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 35.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 90.3% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.11% compared with last year.
• The redesign brings a more advanced cabin, mild-hybrid engines, and standard all-wheel drive.

The bottom line: If you want the newest E-Class design, the 2024 is the right target because it combines a fresh redesign with strong technology and a softer used-market price than last year. If you are more price-sensitive, you may want to keep shopping and compare nearby model years for a lower entry cost, but the 2024 is the better pick if the updated cabin and tech matter most to you.
