Used 2024 Mazda MX-5 Miata for Sale nearTucson, AZ

How much does the 2024 Mazda MX-5 Miata cost?

Prices have softened 3.40% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 507 listings available, which suggests you have a workable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2024 Mazda MX-5 Miata a good car?

The 2024 Mazda MX-5 Miata earns a 7.3/10 expert rating, and Mazda’s own updates make it feel more polished without losing its core identity. The model scores 10/10 across Performance and Cost effectiveness.

It is still built around driving enjoyment first, and the year’s changes sharpen that formula with new steering, a reworked limited-slip rear differential, and a DSC-Track setting. The trade-offs are clear: it can be noisy, it lacks interior storage space, and it does not offer much cargo space.

For you, that means the Miata makes the most sense if you want a lightweight, open-top sports car that prioritizes fun and value over everyday utility. The market also looks reasonably accessible, with 35.3% of listings marked as good or great deals.

Is the 2024 Mazda MX-5 Miata reliable?

The 2024 Mazda MX-5 Miata is presented as a focused, mechanically simple sports car, and the year’s updates center on steering, stability, and chassis control rather than complexity. Mazda’s revised steering and limited-slip differential are described as making the car feel more secure and more stable, especially when you’re driving hard.

The performance notes also point to a car that feels tightly engineered, with rear-wheel drive, a manual transmission, and a low curb weight that helps the 2.0-liter engine feel lively. Mazda also adds a DSC-Track mode for the Club and Grand Touring trims, which relaxes stability-control intervention when you’re pushing the car on a closed course.

If you’re buying used, the main long-term ownership risk is that this is still a small, low-slung roadster, so condition and maintenance history matter more than sheer mileage alone.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Mazda MX-5 Miata?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 88.8% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the report carefully, because a clean listing percentage does not replace a proper history review. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that focuses on the top, interior wear, tire condition, and any signs of hard use. Because the Miata is a lightweight sports car, you’ll also want to pay close attention to how it drives, brakes, and shifts.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: Sport versions come only in black or red paint colors with black 16-inch wheels and a black cloth interior, while Club trim adds 17-inch wheels and more paint choices. Grand Touring adds premium Nappa leather, tan interior surfaces, and more available colors, so it is the most upscale choice.
• Powertrain: The 2.0-liter four-cylinder makes 181 horsepower and is paired with a six-speed manual as standard; the six-speed automatic is available only with Grand Touring. Rear-wheel drive and the revised steering setup are central to the car’s character.
• Safety package: Every trim gets low-speed forward-collision warning with automatic braking, lane-departure warning, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert. Grand Touring adds adaptive front lighting, automatic high beams, and traffic sign recognition, with adaptive cruise control standard only when paired with the automatic transmission.
• Infotainment: The latest Mazda Connect system uses an 8.8-inch display with touchscreen Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Club and Grand Touring get wireless Apple CarPlay, and the system also adds Alexa integration.
• Fuel efficiency: The car is rated at 29 mpg in combined driving, and the performance notes say it can come close to that in typical use.

Which 2024 Mazda MX-5 Miata trim should I buy?

The 2024 Mazda MX-5 Miata is offered in 3 trim levels: Sport, Club, and Grand Touring.

Here's the short version:

• Sport: This is the simplest way into the Miata experience, with the core roadster formula intact and the lowest starting point in the lineup. It suits you if you want the driving feel first and can live without the extra appearance and comfort upgrades.
• Club: This is the best-value trim if you want the most engaging setup without jumping to the top of the range. It adds 17-inch wheels, more paint choices, and the performance-oriented hardware mentioned in the expert notes, making it the sweet spot for enthusiasts.
• Grand Touring: This is the trim to choose if you want the most comfort and convenience, including premium Nappa leather, the tan interior, wireless Apple CarPlay, and the extra safety features. It also gets the automatic transmission option.

Grand Touring adds the most safety equipment, while Club and Grand Touring both get the broader tech and audio upgrades.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Mazda MX-5 Miata?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you have room to shop carefully rather than rush.

• Deal availability: 35.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 507 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.40% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 88.8% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $29,935, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Mazda MX-5 Miata's resale value?

The current average of $29,935 sits slightly below last year's $30,989.

That softer pricing suggests the Miata is currently more accessible to buy than it was a year ago. For a future seller, that can mean less immediate upside if you buy at today’s average and try to resell quickly.

The good news is that the model’s strong enthusiast appeal and focused identity should help it remain desirable. If you keep mileage reasonable and maintain it well, you’re better positioned to preserve value than a buyer who neglects condition.

Is the 2024 Mazda MX-5 Miata safe?

The 2024 Mazda MX-5 Miata does not have crash-test ratings listed here.

It earns a 4/10 safety score from our experts.

Mazda equips every 2024 MX-5 Miata with low-speed forward-collision warning with automatic braking, lane-departure warning, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert. Grand Touring adds adaptive front lighting, automatic high beams, and traffic sign recognition, with adaptive cruise control standard only on the Grand Touring when you choose the automatic transmission.

One caveat is that the car’s lightweight, low-slung design means it offers less crash protection than larger vehicles if a collision occurs. That makes careful driving and a clean vehicle history especially important for used buyers.

Should I buy a 2024 Mazda MX-5 Miata or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 35.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 88.8% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.40% compared with last year.
• This year adds new steering, a revised limited-slip differential, and a more modern infotainment setup.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $28,695, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $29,935 average.
• It delivers a pure, top-down driver’s-car experience.

Consider the 2025 if:

• It keeps the Miata’s precise handling while leaning even harder into the roadster formula.

The bottom line: If you want the most refined version of this generation’s formula, the 2024 is the one to target. If your priority is saving money, the 2023 is the smarter value play, while the 2025 makes sense if you want the latest expression of the same core idea.
