Used 2024 Mazda MX-5 Miata for Sale near Michigan

How much does the 2024 Mazda MX-5 Miata cost?

Prices have softened 3.47% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 527 listings available, which suggests a healthy amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2024 Mazda MX-5 Miata a good car?

The 2024 Mazda MX-5 Miata earns a 7.3/10 expert rating, and the model scores 10/10 across Performance and Cost effectiveness.

It is built around light, elemental driving enjoyment, and this year’s updates sharpen that formula with new steering, a reworked limited-slip rear differential, and a DSC-Track setting that relaxes stability control on a closed course. The latest Mazda Connect infotainment system and interior refinements also make it feel more current without losing its simple sports-car character.

The trade-offs are clear: it is noisy, and it does not offer much interior storage space or cargo space. That makes it best for you if you want a focused roadster rather than a practical daily hauler.

With 39.3% of listings marked as good or great deals, the market gives you some room to shop carefully.

Is the 2024 Mazda MX-5 Miata reliable?

The 2024 Mazda MX-5 Miata is presented as a focused, mechanically simple roadster, and the overview emphasizes that Mazda kept the formula centered on driving enjoyment while adding meaningful updates this year. The expert test-drive data also points to a more secure-feeling chassis thanks to the new steering rack and revised electric steering assist software.

The performance notes reinforce that sense of confidence: the new steering reduces the light feel seen in earlier versions, and the revised limited-slip rear differential helps the car feel more stable when cornering. The car’s 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine and six-speed manual are described as smooth and refined, which supports a straightforward ownership experience.

Mazda also adds a practical perk in the tech and ownership experience: the latest Mazda Connect system brings modern smartphone integration, and the car includes a standard suite of driver aids. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that this is still a low-slung, lightweight sports car, so condition and maintenance history matter more than they would on a more conventional commuter car.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Mazda MX-5 Miata?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 89.8% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the history report carefully, because a clean title alone does not tell you how the car was driven or maintained. Prioritize a thorough inspection of the suspension, tires, brakes, and interior wear, since this is a sports car that may have seen enthusiastic use. Focus on overall condition and how well the car has been cared for, not just the odometer reading.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: Sport versions come only in black or red paint colors with black 16-inch wheels and a black cloth interior, while Club trim adds 17-inch wheels and more paint choices. Grand Touring adds premium Nappa leather, a tan interior option, and more upscale cabin details.
• Powertrain: The 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine makes 181 horsepower and 151 pound-feet of torque, and the six-speed manual is standard. The six-speed automatic is available only with Grand Touring trim.
• Safety package: Every trim gets low-speed forward-collision warning with automatic braking, lane-departure warning, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert. Grand Touring adds an adaptive front lighting system, automatic high beams, and traffic sign recognition; adaptive cruise control is standard with the automatic transmission.
• Infotainment: The car uses an 8.8-inch Mazda Connect display with touchscreen Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Wireless Apple CarPlay is included on Club and Grand Touring, and Alexa is part of the system.
• Fuel efficiency: The car is rated at 29 mpg in combined driving.

Which 2024 Mazda MX-5 Miata trim should I buy?

The 2024 Mazda MX-5 Miata is offered in 3 trim levels: Sport, Club, and Grand Touring.

Here's the short version:

• Sport: This is the entry point, and it keeps the Miata’s core formula intact with the standard manual transmission and the full base safety suite. It makes sense if you want the lightest, simplest way into the car.
• Club: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it adds 17-inch wheels, more paint choices, wireless Apple CarPlay, and a stronger enthusiast feel. If you want the sweet spot between price and equipment, this is the one to target.
• Grand Touring: This is the most upscale choice, adding premium Nappa leather, the tan interior option, adaptive front lighting, automatic high beams, traffic sign recognition, and the available automatic transmission. It suits you best if you want the most comfort and convenience features.

Grand Touring also gets the extra safety equipment, while the automatic transmission brings adaptive cruise control.

• Inventory: There are 527 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.47% compared with last year.

The current average of $30,102 sits slightly below last year's $31,185.

That softer pricing suggests the market has eased a bit, which can help you buy more confidently today. For a future seller, it means you should expect some depreciation pressure if you buy at the current average and try to resell soon.

The good news is that the Miata’s strong enthusiast appeal and focused driving character help support demand. If you keep the car clean, well maintained, and unmodified, you should have a better shot at holding value than you would with a more ordinary used car.

Should I buy a 2024 Mazda MX-5 Miata or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 39.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 89.8% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.47% compared with last year.
• It adds sharper steering and a more playful chassis.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $28,636, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $30,102 average.
• It is a pure, lightweight roadster focused on driving enjoyment.

Consider the 2025 if:

• It stays true to the Miata formula with a rear-wheel-drive, two-seat convertible layout.
• It emphasizes precise handling and top-down driving fun.

The bottom line: If you want the sharpest version of this roadster, the 2024 is the one to target. If your priority is saving money, the 2023 is the better value path, while the 2025 is worth considering if you want the next model-year alternative without leaving the Miata formula.
