Used 2024 Mazda MX-5 Miata for Sale near Connecticut

How much does the 2024 Mazda MX-5 Miata cost?

Prices have softened 4.33% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 515 listings available, which gives you a modest but workable pool to compare trims and condition.

Is the 2024 Mazda MX-5 Miata a good car?

The 2024 Mazda MX-5 Miata earns a 7.33/10 expert rating, and it is built around light, elemental driving enjoyment with meaningful updates this year. The model scores 10/10 across Performance and Cost effectiveness.

Mazda’s changes sharpen the driving experience with new steering, a reworked limited-slip rear differential, and a DSC-Track setting that relaxes stability control for harder driving. The car also gets the latest Mazda Connect infotainment system and interior refinements, so it is more modern without losing its simple sports-car character.

The trade-offs are clear: it is noisy, and it does not offer much interior storage space or cargo space. That makes it best for you if you care more about driving feel and value than everyday practicality.

With 43.5% of listings marked as good or great deals, the market gives you a decent chance to find a strong-value example.

Is the 2024 Mazda MX-5 Miata reliable?

The 2024 Mazda MX-5 Miata is presented as a focused, mechanically simple roadster, and Mazda’s updates this year center on steering, differential tuning, and driver engagement rather than added complexity. The expert evaluation also describes the car as refined in its core driving hardware, which supports confidence in the way it should hold up over time.

The performance notes point to a smooth 2.0-liter four-cylinder, a standard six-speed manual, and rear-wheel drive, all of which keep the formula straightforward. The cost-effectiveness commentary also frames it as the most affordable way to get open-top driving fun, which is a good sign if you want a used sports car without stepping into a more expensive ownership experience.

Mazda also includes a maintenance perk in the cost-effectiveness notes: the first scheduled maintenance visit is on the house.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about complexity and more about the realities of a lightweight sports car that may have been driven hard.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Mazda MX-5 Miata?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 92% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report and verify that the car’s condition matches its mileage and asking price. A pre-purchase inspection is especially important on a roadster like this, where you want to check for signs of hard use, wear, and any issues that could affect top-down enjoyment. Focus on the cabin, tires, brakes, and overall cosmetic condition, since those details matter a lot on a car that is meant to feel special.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: Sport versions come only in black or red paint colors with black 16-inch wheels and a black cloth interior. Club trim adds 17-inch wheels and more paint choices, while Grand Touring brings premium Nappa leather, a tan interior option, and more upscale cabin materials. If you want the best value, Club is the trim that adds meaningful equipment without pushing as far up the price ladder.
• Powertrain: The 2.0-liter four-cylinder makes 181 horsepower and 151 pound-feet of torque, and the six-speed manual is standard. Mazda offers a six-speed automatic only with Grand Touring trim, and the car sends power to the rear wheels.
• Safety package: Every 2024 MX-5 Miata includes low-speed forward-collision warning with automatic braking, lane-departure warning, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert. Grand Touring adds adaptive front lighting, automatic high beams, and traffic sign recognition; with the automatic transmission, adaptive cruise control is also standard on Grand Touring.
• Infotainment: The Miata uses an 8.8-inch Mazda Connect display with touchscreen Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Club and Grand Touring add wireless Apple CarPlay, and the system also brings Alexa integration.
• Fuel efficiency: The expert notes an official EPA rating of 29 mpg in combined driving.

Which 2024 Mazda MX-5 Miata trim should I buy?

The 2024 Mazda MX-5 Miata is offered in 3 trim levels: Sport, Club, and Grand Touring.

Here's the short version:

• Sport: This is the simplest way into the Miata experience, with black or red paint, black 16-inch wheels, and a black cloth interior. It makes sense if you want the core driving feel at the lowest entry point.
• Club: This is the best-value trim because it adds 17-inch wheels, more paint choices, and a more tailored enthusiast feel without jumping all the way to the top. It also pairs well with the performance-focused hardware mentioned in the expert notes.
• Grand Touring: This is the trim to choose if you want the most comfort and convenience, including premium Nappa leather, the tan interior, and additional safety and lighting features. It is the right pick if you want the Miata to feel a bit more upscale.

Grand Touring gets the extra safety features, while the automatic transmission adds adaptive cruise control on that trim.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Mazda MX-5 Miata?

This looks like a buyer-friendly moment if you want a used Miata, because pricing has eased and inventory is available to compare.

• Deal availability: 43.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 515 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.33% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 92.0% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $30,494, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Mazda MX-5 Miata's resale value?

The current average of $30,732 sits slightly below last year's $32,124.

That price movement suggests the market has softened, which can help you buy more confidently now. If you plan to sell later, the Miata’s strong enthusiast appeal should help support demand, but your resale outcome will still depend heavily on mileage, condition, and trim.

Because the current average is below the prior-year figure, you may not see rapid appreciation in the near term. For a future seller, that means preserving condition and keeping documentation will matter more than hoping for a rising market.

Is the 2024 Mazda MX-5 Miata safe?

The 2024 Mazda MX-5 Miata does not have crash-test ratings listed here.

It earns a 4/10 safety score from our experts.

Mazda equips every 2024 MX-5 Miata with low-speed forward-collision warning with automatic braking, lane-departure warning, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert. Grand Touring adds an adaptive front lighting system, automatic high-beam headlights, and traffic sign recognition; with the automatic transmission, adaptive cruise control is standard on Grand Touring.

There are also some caveats to keep in mind. The expert notes that the lane-departure warning system can activate in error, and the forward-collision warning can also be triggered by roadside objects in some situations. Because this is a lightweight sports car, you should be especially careful about how and where you drive it.

Should I buy a 2024 Mazda MX-5 Miata or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 43.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 92% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.33% compared with last year.
• This year adds sharper steering, a revised differential, and a more modern infotainment setup.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $29,182, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $30,732 average.
• It is a pure, lightweight roadster focused on driving enjoyment.

Consider the 2025 if:

• It stays true to the Miata formula with a rear-wheel-drive, two-seat convertible layout.
• It emphasizes precise handling and top-down driving enjoyment.

The bottom line: If you want the most updated Miata experience, the 2024 is the better all-around pick because it adds meaningful chassis and tech improvements without losing the car’s core appeal. If your priority is saving money, the 2023 is the smarter value play, while the 2025 is worth considering if you want to compare the next model year’s take on the same formula.
