How much does the 2024 Lexus RX cost?

Prices have softened 6.50% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 2,943 listings available, which suggests you have a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2024 Lexus RX a good car?

Yes — the 2024 Lexus RX earns a 5/5 user rating and a 6.17/10 expert rating.

The model scores 7/10 across Form and function, Cost effectiveness, and Safety.

The RX is built for you if you want a refined daily driver with an emphasis on comfort, a quiet cabin, and fuel efficiency. It is less compelling if you want a particularly engaging drive, since the overview and expert notes both point to modest performance and a focus on comfort over excitement.

Trade-offs: It can feel fairly pedestrian to drive, and some interior materials do not fully match the premium image.

Market signal: 39.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2024 Lexus RX reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The RX is presented as a comfort-first luxury crossover with a reputation built around refinement and efficiency. The expert notes also emphasize that it is designed around core strengths rather than flash, which usually aligns with a calmer ownership experience for buyers who value predictable day-to-day use.

Its powertrain lineup includes a turbocharged 2.4-liter four-cylinder, a hybrid setup, and a plug-in hybrid option, giving you multiple ways to balance performance and efficiency. The expert commentary also points to strong fuel economy and a quiet, composed driving character, both of which support the case for dependable long-term use.

For used buyers, the main ownership risk is that the softer performance and some lower-grade interior touches may matter more over time if you expect a more premium or athletic feel.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Lexus RX?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 90.2% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a vehicle history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you are comparing multiple trims or higher-mileage examples. Focus on cabin condition, infotainment operation, and whether the safety and convenience features work as expected, since this model leans heavily on comfort and technology.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The cabin presentation changes meaningfully by trim, with the top Luxury trim adding faux suede inserts in the seats, doors, and roof pillars, while the base setup is more conventional. The safety content also notes that the Premium trim adds parking proximity sensors and the Luxury trim adds a head-up display.
• Powertrain: You can choose a turbocharged 2.4-liter four-cylinder with 275 horsepower and 317 pound-feet of torque, a 2.5-liter hybrid with 246 hp and 233 lb-ft, or a plug-in hybrid with 304 hp and up to 37 miles of electric-only range. The standard gas model is tuned more for comfort than excitement, and the hybrid can feel strained when you ask for quick acceleration.
• Safety package: Lexus Safety System+ 3.0 is standard, and it includes adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, lane-keep assist, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, and a rear passenger safe-exit system. Higher trims add parking proximity sensors and a head-up display, while other available features include a digital rearview mirror, a surround-view camera system, a semi-automated parking system, and a highway driving assist system.
• Infotainment: Lower trims get a 9.8-inch touchscreen, while other models use a 14-inch display. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are included, and the system also supports cloud-based navigation, though that service is subscription-based after a two-year free trial.
• Fuel efficiency: The base front-wheel-drive model is estimated at 25 mpg combined, the all-wheel-drive version at 24 mpg combined, the hybrid at 36 mpg combined, and the plug-in hybrid at 35 mpg combined with 37 miles of electric-only range.

Which 2024 Lexus RX trim should I buy?

The 2024 Lexus RX is offered in 4 trim levels: RX 350, RX 350h, RX 500h F Sport Performance, RX 450h+.

Here's the short version:

• RX 350: This is the entry point, and it gives you the core RX experience with the turbocharged 2.4-liter engine, a choice of front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive, and the comfort-focused ride that defines the model. It makes sense if you want the lowest starting price and do not need hybrid efficiency.
• RX 350h: This is the best-value trim for most buyers because it adds standard all-wheel drive and the strongest fuel economy in the standard lineup at 36 mpg combined. If you want the RX’s comfort and refinement with lower running costs, this is the one to target.
• RX 500h F Sport Performance: This is the performance-oriented choice, with 366 horsepower and 406 pound-feet of torque. It is the trim to consider if you want the strongest acceleration in the lineup, but the RX still remains comfort-first overall.
• RX 450h+: This is the plug-in hybrid choice, and it is the right fit if you can charge regularly and want up to 37 miles of electric-only driving. It is the priciest option, so it makes the most sense for buyers who will actually use the electric range.

The safety package is standard across the lineup, while Premium and Luxury trims add extra safety equipment such as parking proximity sensors and a head-up display.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Lexus RX?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 39.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,943 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.50% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 90.2% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $49,038, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Lexus RX's resale value?

The current average of $49,038 sits slightly below last year's $52,445.

That softer pricing can help you buy more carefully now, but it also means future resale may depend heavily on how well the market continues to value comfort, efficiency, and Lexus branding. If demand stays centered on refined, fuel-efficient luxury SUVs, the RX should remain appealing to used shoppers.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Lexus RX safe?

The 2024 Lexus RX earns five-star ratings in overall and side collision protection and four-star ratings in frontal and rollover tests from NHTSA. The FWD RX 350 is rated four-star overall. The IIHS awarded it a Top Safety Pick rating, with Good scores in all crashworthiness evaluations except the moderate frontal overlap test, where it received Poor.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

All RX models come standard with Lexus Safety System+ 3.0, which includes adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, lane-keep assist, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, and a rear passenger safe-exit system. Premium trims add parking proximity sensors, and Luxury trims add a head-up display. Other available features include a digital rearview mirror, a surround-view camera system, a semi-automated parking system, and a highway driving assist system that combines adaptive cruise and lane centering.

The main caveat is the poor moderate frontal overlap result, which is worth keeping in mind if crash-test performance is a top priority for you.

Should I buy a 2024 Lexus RX or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 39.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 90.2% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.50% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2024 brings a broad powertrain lineup, including a plug-in hybrid with up to 37 miles of electric-only range.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $45,654, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $49,038 average.
• It is described as a comfortable, tech-forward redesign with a premium interior feel.

The bottom line: If you want the strongest mix of current pricing, inventory, and feature content, the 2024 is the better all-around target. If your priority is spending less up front, the 2023 is the smarter value play, especially if you find one in strong condition with the equipment you want.
