Used 2024 Kia Seltos for Sale near Illinois

How much does the 2024 Kia Seltos cost?

Prices have softened 3.09% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 2,477 listings available, which suggests you should have a workable selection to compare.

Is the 2024 Kia Seltos a good car?

Yes — the 2024 Kia Seltos earns a 4.8/5 user rating and a 7.5/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Cost effectiveness and Safety.

Owners consistently praise its features, comfort, handling, spaciousness, and safety options, and they also like the stylish design. In practical terms, that lines up with a small crossover that feels easy to live with and well equipped for the class.

The main trade-offs are the base engine’s underpowered feel and the turbo engine’s low-speed lag. Even so, the Seltos fits well if you want a small SUV with useful space, approachable technology, and a refreshed look without losing its everyday usability.

Good and great deals account for 38.8% of listings, so there’s still a meaningful share of the market that looks shopper-friendly.

Is the 2024 Kia Seltos reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also points to a vehicle that feels dependable, with praise centered on comfort, features, and the sense that it holds up well in daily use. The expert evaluation reinforces that impression by describing it as a well-rounded crossover with useful space, intuitive controls, and a functional cabin.

Kia’s 10-year/100,000-mile warranty adds another ownership advantage if you’re buying used and want extra peace of mind. For long-term ownership, your biggest risk is still the powertrain’s weaker base-engine character rather than a lack of everyday usefulness.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Kia Seltos?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 89.3% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the history report carefully, because a clean listing percentage does not replace documentation on the individual vehicle you’re considering. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that focuses on the powertrain, tire wear, brake feel, and any signs that the vehicle has been driven hard or poorly maintained. It also helps to compare trim equipment closely, since the Seltos changes a lot as you move up the lineup.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The LX starts with 17-inch alloy wheels, cloth upholstery, manually adjustable front seats, two USB ports, air conditioning, remote keyless entry, Bluetooth connectivity, an 8-inch touchscreen, and standard AWD. The S adds fog lights, LED daytime running lights, silver roof rails, heated side mirrors with integrated turn signals, a larger digital instrument panel, LED cabin lighting, combination cloth-and-synthetic leather upholstery, single-zone automatic climate control, and a 10.25-inch touchscreen. The EX adds synthetic leather upholstery, a 10-way power driver’s seat, heated front seats, and a wireless charging pad. The X-Line adds 18-inch gloss-black wheels, tinted windows, a dark gunmetal grille, and black roof rails, while the SX adds LED bi-function headlights, LED fog lights, an electrochromatic rearview mirror, a rear cargo cover, a leather-wrapped flat-bottom steering wheel, and a Bose premium stereo.
• Powertrain: The base setup uses a 2.0-liter four-cylinder with 146 horsepower and 132 pound-feet of torque, paired with an IVT. The base engine comes with AWD, while the S and EX can be had with FWD or AWD. The X-Line and SX use a turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder with 195 horsepower and 195 lb-ft of torque, paired with an eight-speed automatic and standard AWD. The turbo setup is stronger, but it can still show some low-speed lag.
• Safety package: Standard driver assistance includes forward collision avoidance with pedestrian and cyclist detection, lane-departure warning, lane-follow assist, automatic high beams, and driver attention warning. The S adds blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and Safe Exit Warning. The SX adds smart cruise control with stop-and-go capability, navigation-based curve prediction, traffic sign recognition, highway driving assist, junction-turning support for forward collision warning, and drive-away warning. The biggest gap is that the more advanced features are reserved for higher trims.
• Infotainment: The base trim uses an 8-inch touchscreen with a 4.2-inch digital instrument screen, while every trim except the LX upgrades to a 10.25-inch fully digital instrument panel and a 10.25-inch touchscreen. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are included, and the system keeps physical volume and tuning controls plus hard climate buttons. Digital Key 2 Touch is also available.
• Fuel efficiency: The 2.0-liter engine with FWD returns 28 mpg city, 34 highway, and 31 combined. With AWD, it returns 27 mpg city, 31 highway, and 29 combined. The turbocharged 1.6-liter with AWD returns 25 mpg city, 27 highway, and 26 combined.

Which 2024 Kia Seltos trim should I buy?

The 2024 Kia Seltos is offered in 5 trim levels: LX, S, EX, X-Line, and SX.

Here's the short version:

• LX: This is the value-focused starting point if you want standard AWD, the 8-inch touchscreen, and the core safety and convenience features without stretching the budget. It makes the most sense if you care more about affordability and all-weather traction than extra comfort or tech.
• S: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds the larger digital display, the bigger touchscreen, upgraded lighting, roof rails, and more comfort features while staying below the upper trims. It also unlocks blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and Safe Exit Warning, which makes it the sweet spot for many buyers.
• EX: Choose this if you want a more comfort-oriented setup, including synthetic leather upholstery, a power driver’s seat, heated front seats, and wireless charging. It’s the trim to target if you want a nicer daily driver without jumping all the way to the turbo models.
• X-Line: This trim is mainly about styling and the turbo powertrain, with 18-inch gloss-black wheels, darker exterior accents, and standard AWD. It suits you if you want the stronger engine and a more distinctive look, but it gives up some convenience equipment.
• SX: This is the top choice if you want the most equipment, including the Bose audio system, upgraded lighting, and the most advanced driver-assistance features. It’s the right pick if you want the most complete Seltos experience and are willing to pay for it.

The safety package expands meaningfully as you move up the lineup, with the SX getting the most advanced driver-assistance features.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Kia Seltos?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully without feeling rushed.

• Deal availability: 38.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,477 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.09% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 89.3% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $22,393, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Kia Seltos's resale value?

The current average of $22,990 sits slightly below last year's $23,723.

That kind of price movement suggests the market has eased a bit, which can help you as a buyer today but may also mean future resale gains are more limited if the trend continues. For a seller, the upside is that the Seltos still has broad appeal thanks to its practicality, standard features, and strong owner satisfaction.

If you keep the vehicle in clean condition and maintain it well, you should be in a better position when it’s time to sell. Models with strong demand and a good reputation tend to move more easily on the used market.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Kia Seltos safe?

The 2024 Kia Seltos earns a Top Safety Pick rating from IIHS.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard driver assistance features include forward collision avoidance with pedestrian and cyclist detection, lane-departure warning, lane-follow assist, automatic high beams, and driver attention warning. The S trim adds blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and Safe Exit Warning, while the SX adds smart cruise control with stop-and-go capability, navigation-based curve prediction, traffic sign recognition, highway driving assist, junction-turning support, and drive-away warning.

The main caveat is that the more advanced safety tech is not standard across the lineup, so you need to move up trims to get the full suite.

Should I buy a 2024 Kia Seltos or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 38.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 89.3% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.09% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2024 model brings refreshed styling, updated technology, and a well-rounded package that keeps the Seltos appealing in this segment.

The bottom line: If you want the refreshed look, updated tech, and a strong mix of practicality and standard equipment, the 2024 is the one to target. If your priority is simply the lowest possible price, a nearby year may be worth comparing, but the 2024’s combination of inventory, pricing, and owner satisfaction makes it the safer all-around choice.
