Owners consistently praise its features, comfort, handling, spaciousness, and safety options, and they also like the stylish design. For shoppers who want a small crossover with useful space and easy-to-use technology, that combination is a strong fit.

The main trade-offs are the base engine’s underpowered feel and the optional turbo engine’s low-speed turbo-lag. Even so, the Seltos’ roomy cabin and practical feature set make it appealing if you want everyday usability with a well-rounded equipment list.

Good and great deals account for 37.4% of listings, so there’s still meaningful value in the market.

For used buyers, the main risk is less about the platform and more about choosing a well-maintained example with the right equipment and condition.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Kia Seltos?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 87.6% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the history report carefully, because a clean listing percentage does not replace a proper records review. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection if you’re considering a higher-mileage example or a trim with more equipment. Focus on overall condition, feature operation, and whether the vehicle matches the trim level and drivetrain you want.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The LX starts with 17-inch alloy wheels, cloth upholstery, manually adjustable front seats, two USB ports, air conditioning, remote keyless entry, Bluetooth connectivity, and an 8-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The S adds fog lights, LED daytime running lights, silver roof rails, heated side mirrors with integrated turn signals, a larger digital instrument panel, LED cabin lighting, combination cloth-and-synthetic leather upholstery, single-zone automatic climate control, and a 10.25-inch touchscreen. The EX adds synthetic leather upholstery, a 10-way power driver’s seat, heated front seats, and a wireless charging pad. The X-Line adds 18-inch gloss-black alloy wheels, tinted windows, a dark gunmetal grille, and black roof rails, but it loses the wireless charging pad and power-adjustable driver’s seat. The SX adds LED bi-function headlights, LED fog lights, an electrochromatic rearview mirror, a rear cargo cover, a leather-wrapped flat-bottom steering wheel, and a Bose premium stereo system.
• Powertrain: The base engine is a 2.0-liter four-cylinder with 146 horsepower and 132 pound-feet of torque, paired with an IVT. The LX comes standard with AWD, while the S and EX can be had with FWD or extra-cost AWD. The X-Line and SX use a turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder with 195 horsepower and 195 lb-ft of torque, paired with an eight-speed automatic and standard AWD.
• Safety package: Standard driver assistance features include forward collision avoidance with pedestrian and cyclist detection, lane-departure warning, lane-follow assist, automatic high beams, and driver attention warning. The S adds blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and Safe Exit Warning. The SX adds smart cruise control with stop-and-go capability, navigation-based curve prediction, traffic sign recognition, highway driving assist, a junction-turning function for forward collision warning, and drive-away warning.
• Infotainment: The base setup uses an 8-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Every trim except the LX upgrades to a 10.25-inch touchscreen and a 10.25-inch fully digital instrument panel. The system is responsive, and the larger screen is paired with logical menus and physical controls for key functions.
• Fuel efficiency: The base 2.0-liter engine with FWD returns 28 mpg city, 34 highway, and 31 combined. With AWD, it returns 27 mpg city, 31 highway, and 29 combined. The turbocharged 1.6-liter AWD setup returns 25 mpg city, 27 highway, and 26 combined.

Which 2024 Kia Seltos trim should I buy?

The 2024 Kia Seltos is offered in 5 trim levels: LX, S, EX, X-Line, and SX.

Here's the short version:

• LX: This is the value-focused starting point, and it stands out because it already includes AWD, a useful standard safety suite, and the core infotainment and convenience features you need. If you want the lowest-cost path into the Seltos without giving up the model’s main strengths, this is the trim to start with.
• S: This is the best-value upgrade for many shoppers because it adds a larger digital display, more comfort and convenience features, and important safety upgrades like blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and Safe Exit Warning. If you want the strongest balance of price and equipment, this is the trim to target.
• EX: This trim is the comfort-oriented step up, with synthetic leather upholstery, a power driver’s seat, heated front seats, and wireless charging. It makes sense if you want a more upscale daily driver without jumping all the way to the top of the range.
• X-Line: This trim leans into styling with unique exterior touches and 18-inch gloss-black wheels, but it also gives up the wireless charging pad and power-adjustable driver’s seat. It suits you best if appearance matters more than feature content.
• SX: This is the most feature-rich version, adding the strongest mix of lighting, audio, and convenience equipment, plus the most advanced driver-assistance features. It’s the right pick if you want the fullest Seltos experience and are willing to pay for it.

The SX trim also offers the SX Sunroof Package, which adds a power sunroof, hands-free power tailgate, ventilated front seats, and Digital Key 2.0.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Kia Seltos?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you have room to shop carefully without rushing into the first listing you see.

• Deal availability: 37.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,451 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.52% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 87.6% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $22,386, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Kia Seltos's resale value?

The current average of $22,514 sits slightly below last year's $23,334.

That softer pricing trend suggests the Seltos is currently more buyer-friendly than it was a year ago, which can help you if you’re shopping now. For a future seller, it also means you should expect resale value to depend heavily on condition, mileage, and trim desirability rather than broad market momentum alone.

The good news is that the model’s strong feature content and practical appeal should help it stay relevant with used shoppers. Well-equipped examples with clean history and strong condition should be easier to move than stripped-down or heavily worn ones.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Kia Seltos safe?

The 2024 Kia Seltos earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard driver-assistance features include forward collision avoidance with pedestrian and cyclist detection, lane-departure warning, lane-follow assist, automatic high beams, and driver attention warning. The S trim adds blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and Safe Exit Warning. The SX adds smart cruise control with stop-and-go capability, navigation-based curve prediction, traffic sign recognition, highway driving assist, a junction-turning function for forward collision warning, and drive-away warning.

That means the base trim already gives you a useful safety foundation, while higher trims add more advanced highway and parking-related assistance. If safety tech matters most to you, the S and SX trims are the ones to focus on.

Should I buy a 2024 Kia Seltos or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 37.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 87.6% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.52% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2024 model gets a mid-cycle refresh with updated tech and modest styling tweaks, while keeping the roomy cabin and standard AWD that make the Seltos appealing.

The bottom line: If you want the freshest version of this small crossover’s formula, the 2024 is the better choice because it adds updated technology and keeps the practical strengths intact. If your priority is simply the lowest possible purchase price, a nearby model year may be worth comparing, but the 2024’s refreshed tech and strong market value make it the safer all-around pick.
