Used 2024 Hyundai Kona for Sale nearBuffalo, NY

How much does the 2024 Hyundai Kona cost?

Prices have softened 8.08% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 4,023 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2024 Hyundai Kona a good car?

Yes — the 2024 Hyundai Kona earns a 5/5 user rating and an 8.33/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Cost effectiveness, Technology, and Safety.

The 2024 Kona is all-new, and its redesign gives you a fresh look, new tech, and a small-SUV footprint that still feels easy to live with. It stands out for its multiple powertrain options, impressive technology, and standard advanced safety features, which make it a strong value proposition for everyday buyers.

The trade-offs are clear: performance is fairly pedestrian, so it is better suited to you if you care more about usability than excitement. It also does not offer enough covered storage in the cabin, which may matter if you want more interior organization.

With 39.4% of listings priced as good or great deals, the market gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2024 Hyundai Kona reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2024 Kona’s all-new redesign is paired with a strong emphasis on standard safety tech and everyday usability, which supports confidence for used buyers. Its expert evaluation also points to a well-rounded package rather than a vehicle that relies on one standout trait.

The performance setup is straightforward, with a naturally aspirated 2.0-liter four-cylinder in the SE and SEL and a turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder in the N-Line and Limited. That kind of conventional powertrain lineup can be reassuring if you want a familiar ownership experience.

Hyundai also includes a maintenance perk in the ownership story: the first scheduled maintenance visit is on the house.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that a feature-rich small SUV can still be more expensive to keep satisfying if prior owners skipped maintenance or let wear accumulate.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Hyundai Kona?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 88.9% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the history report carefully, because accident-free listings are common but not universal. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that focuses on body condition, interior wear, and whether the cabin storage and tech features work as expected. If you are comparing trims, make sure the equipment level matches what you want before you commit.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base SE and next-up SEL are the most straightforward choices, while the N-Line and Limited add more upscale equipment and a more premium feature set. The base trim is the one most likely to leave you wanting more if you care about convenience and tech.
• Powertrain: The SE and SEL use a naturally aspirated 2.0-liter four-cylinder, while the N-Line and Limited get a turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder. The turbo setup brings more power, but the overall performance character is still described as fairly pedestrian.
• Safety package: Hyundai’s Highway Driving Assist suite is part of the Kona’s safety story, and standard features include Safe Exit Warning, blind-spot collision avoidance, rear cross-traffic collision avoidance, and high-beam assist. Adaptive cruise control is standard on N-Line and Limited, and the Limited adds Surround View Monitor and blind-spot view monitor.
• Infotainment: Every 2024 Kona gets a 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard only on the lower trims for now, while the top trims rely on wired connections until an OTA update arrives; dual 12.3-inch screens are included with N-Line and Limited.
• Fuel efficiency: With front-wheel drive, the Kona is rated at 26 city, 32 highway, and 28 mpg combined. All-wheel drive lowers those figures to 24 city, 29 highway, and 26 mpg combined.

Which 2024 Hyundai Kona trim should I buy?

The 2024 Hyundai Kona is offered in 4 trim levels: SE, SEL, N-Line, and Limited.

Here's the short version:

• SE: This is the value play if you want the redesigned Kona at the lowest entry point. You still get the new look, standard 12.3-inch infotainment screen, and the core safety equipment, but it is the trim most likely to feel basic if you want more comfort or convenience features.
• SEL: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds useful equipment without jumping all the way to the pricier models. It is the smart middle ground if you want a better balance of features and price.
• N-Line: This trim is for you if you want the turbocharged engine, paddle shifters, and a more upscale tech presentation. It also gets adaptive cruise control as standard, making it a strong choice if you want more equipment and a more premium feel.
• Limited: This is the most fully equipped version, with the turbo engine, the most advanced safety content, and the most upscale convenience features. Choose it if you want the most complete Kona experience and are willing to pay for it.

The safety-package trim note is simple: adaptive cruise control is standard on N-Line and Limited, while Surround View Monitor and blind-spot view monitor are Limited-only features.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Hyundai Kona?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 39.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 4,023 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.08% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 88.9% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $20,970, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Hyundai Kona's resale value?

The current average of $21,428 sits slightly below last year's $23,312.

That decline suggests the Kona is currently in a softer pricing phase, which can be good news if you are buying now but less favorable if you plan to sell soon. If prices remain under pressure, future sellers may need to be more competitive on asking price to move the vehicle quickly.

The model’s strong feature content and broad appeal should help support demand, especially among shoppers who want a redesigned small SUV with modern tech. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Hyundai Kona safe?

The 2024 Hyundai Kona earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Hyundai makes safety a major part of the Kona’s appeal, and the 2024 model adds even more standard driver-assistance content. Standard features include Safe Exit Warning, blind-spot collision avoidance, rear cross-traffic collision avoidance, and high-beam assist, while adaptive cruise control is standard on N-Line and Limited. The Limited trim also adds Surround View Monitor and blind-spot view monitor.

The Highway Driving Assist suite is a notable part of the Kona’s safety story, and the system’s lane-keep assist behavior was described as smooth and confident on the highway. The main trim-level gap is that adaptive cruise control is not standard on every version.

Should I buy a 2024 Hyundai Kona or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 39.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 88.9% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.08% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The all-new redesign brings fresh styling, new tech, and standard advanced safety features.

Consider the 2025 if:

• At $21,615, the 2025 costs more than the current year's $21,428 average.
• It stays mostly unchanged while adding a couple of new trim levels.

The bottom line: If you want the better value today, the 2024 is the stronger buy because it combines a lower average price with a full redesign and strong feature content. If you are price-sensitive and find a well-equipped 2024 below the market average, that is the path to prioritize; if you want to pay a bit more for a newer model year with minimal changes, the 2025 is the secondary option.
