How much does the 2024 Kia Seltos cost?

Is the 2024 Kia Seltos a good car?

Yes — the 2024 Kia Seltos earns a 4.8/5 user rating and a 7.5/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Cost effectiveness and Safety.

Owners consistently praise its features, comfort, handling, spaciousness, and safety options, and they also like the stylish design. For you, that points to a small crossover that feels easy to live with and well equipped for everyday use.

The trade-offs are straightforward: the base engine feels underpowered, and the optional turbo engine suffers from low-speed turbo-lag. Even so, the Seltos fits well if you want a practical small SUV with useful space and approachable technology. Good and great deals account for 36.8% of listings, which suggests there are still worthwhile opportunities in the market.

The expert evaluation also emphasizes the Seltos’s well-rounded nature and its practical, functional character.

Kia backs the Seltos with a 10-year/100,000-mile warranty, which adds peace of mind for used buyers. For long-term ownership, your biggest risk is making sure the specific vehicle has been maintained well, especially if you’re considering one of the higher-output powertrains.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Kia Seltos?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 88.4% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the history report carefully, because a clean listing percentage does not replace a proper records review. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that focuses on how the drivetrain feels, how the electronics operate, and whether the cabin and exterior show signs of harder use. It also helps to compare trims closely, since equipment changes meaningfully as you move up the lineup.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The LX starts with 17-inch alloy wheels, cloth upholstery, manually adjustable front seats, two USB ports, air conditioning, remote keyless entry, Bluetooth connectivity, and an 8-inch touchscreen. The S adds fog lights, LED daytime running lights, silver roof rails, heated side mirrors with integrated turn signals, a larger digital instrument panel, LED cabin lighting, combination cloth-and-synthetic leather upholstery, automatic climate control, and a 10.25-inch touchscreen. The EX adds synthetic leather upholstery, a power-adjustable driver’s seat, heated front seats, and a wireless charging pad. The X-Line adds 18-inch gloss-black wheels and darker styling touches, while the SX adds LED bi-function headlights, LED fog lights, a rear cargo cover, a leather-wrapped flat-bottomed steering wheel, and a Bose premium stereo.
• Powertrain: The base setup uses a 2.0-liter four-cylinder with 146 horsepower and an IVT, and the LX comes standard with AWD. The S and EX can be had with FWD or extra-cost AWD. The X-Line and SX use a turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder with 195 horsepower and a new eight-speed automatic, and that setup comes with standard AWD.
• Safety package: Standard driver assistance includes forward collision avoidance with pedestrian and cyclist detection, lane-departure warning, lane-follow assist, automatic high beams, and driver attention warning. The S adds blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and Safe Exit Warning. The SX adds smart cruise control, traffic sign recognition, highway driving assist, a junction-turning function for forward collision warning, and drive-away warning. The base trim misses several of those upgraded features.
• Infotainment: The base trim uses an 8-inch touchscreen with a 4.2-inch digital instrument screen, while every trim except the base LX upgrades to a 10.25-inch fully digital instrument panel and a 10.25-inch touchscreen. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are included, and the system keeps physical volume and tuning controls.
• Fuel efficiency: The base 2.0-liter engine with FWD returns 28 mpg city, 34 highway, and 31 combined. With AWD, it returns 27 mpg city, 31 highway, and 29 combined. The turbocharged 1.6-liter engine returns 25 mpg city, 27 highway, and 26 combined.

Which 2024 Kia Seltos trim should I buy?

The 2024 Kia Seltos is offered in 5 trim levels: LX, S, EX, X-Line, and SX.

Here's the short version:

• LX: This is the value play if you want the lowest entry point and standard AWD. You get the core Seltos formula here: useful space, easy-to-use tech, and the standard safety equipment that makes the model appealing in the first place.
• S: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds a bigger digital display, more convenience features, and important safety upgrades like blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert. If you want the strongest balance of price and equipment, this is the one to focus on.
• EX: Choose this trim if you want a more comfort-oriented setup, including synthetic leather upholstery, heated front seats, a power driver’s seat, and wireless charging. It’s the right step up if you care more about daily comfort than appearance.
• X-Line: This trim is for you if you want the turbocharged engine and a more distinctive look. It adds the stronger powertrain and unique styling touches, but it also gives up some convenience equipment.
• SX: This is the top choice if you want the most features, including the upgraded audio system, more lighting equipment, and the most advanced driver-assistance content. It’s the trim to buy if you want the fullest Seltos experience.

The SX also brings the most complete safety package, while the S trim is the best-value choice for most used buyers.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Kia Seltos?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop patiently but should move quickly on the right listing.

• Deal availability: 36.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,510 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.32% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 88.4% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $22,390, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Kia Seltos's resale value?

The current average of $22,632 sits slightly below last year's $23,409.

That price movement suggests the Seltos has already absorbed some depreciation, which can help you if you buy used and later resell. A softer market today can also mean less downside risk than buying when prices are still elevated.

For a future seller, the key question is whether the vehicle stays desirable enough to hold buyer interest. The Seltos’s strong feature content, practical packaging, and broad appeal should help support demand, especially for well-kept examples with the right trim and equipment.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Kia Seltos safe?

The 2024 Kia Seltos earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard driver assistance features include forward collision avoidance with pedestrian and cyclist detection, lane-departure warning, lane-follow assist, automatic high beams, and driver attention warning. The S trim adds blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and Safe Exit Warning, while the SX adds smart cruise control, traffic sign recognition, highway driving assist, a junction-turning function for forward collision warning, and drive-away warning.

That means the base trim gives you a solid safety foundation, but you need to move up the lineup if you want the more advanced driver-assistance features. For used buyers, the trim you choose matters a lot here.

Should I buy a 2024 Kia Seltos or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 36.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 88.4% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.32% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• Expert or safety highlight specific to this year from the refreshed model: updated styling and technology, plus lots of helpful standard safety features.

The bottom line: If you want the refreshed Seltos with updated tech and a strong mix of value, safety, and everyday usability, the 2024 is the right target. If you’re especially price-sensitive, you can still shop carefully and focus on the trims that deliver the best equipment for the money.
