How much does the 2024 Kia K5 cost?

Prices have softened 4.85% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 2,741 listings available, which suggests you have a healthy amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2024 Kia K5 a good car?

Yes — the 2024 Kia K5 earns a 5/5 user rating and a 7.2/10 expert rating. The model scores 8/10 across Form and function and Cost effectiveness.

It stands out as a stylish, comfortable, enjoyable, and technologically advanced midsize sedan, and it is described as an excellent value for money. The trade-offs are that real-world fuel economy is unimpressive and the interior materials feel cheap.

For shoppers who want a distinctive midsize sedan with strong value and standard safety tech, it makes a compelling case. The market also shows 31.6% good or great deals, which supports the value story.

Is the 2024 Kia K5 reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2024 Kia K5 is presented as a well-equipped, value-focused sedan with standard advanced safety features and an engine immobilizer system. Its overall package points to solid everyday dependability, especially if you prioritize comfort, technology, and value.

The turbocharged powertrain is described as smooth and responsive in normal driving, and the car’s factory warranty is highlighted as one of the best available. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that poor fuel economy and crash-test concerns may weigh on satisfaction over time.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Kia K5?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 84.3% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the history report carefully and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the car has been driven hard or shows signs of cosmetic wear. Focus on overall condition, because the cabin is noted for inexpensive-looking plastic and the brakes can fade under enthusiastic driving.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The LXS is the base trim, the GT-Line sits one step above it, the EX is the more upscale choice, and the GT is the budget sports sedan. The GT-Line adds standard heated seats for 2024, while the base LXS misses some of the nicer equipment found higher up.
• Powertrain: Most versions use a turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder with 180 horsepower and an eight-speed automatic, while the GT uses a turbocharged 2.4-liter four-cylinder with 290 horsepower and an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission. All-wheel drive is available with the GT-Line.
• Safety package: Kia Drive Wise includes forward collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, active blind-spot monitoring, active rear cross-traffic alert, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assistance, and safe exit warning. Standard equipment also includes automatic high-beam headlights, a driver monitoring system, a rear-seat reminder system, and Leading Vehicle Departure Alert.
• Infotainment: The LXS has an 8-inch touchscreen, while other trims get a 10.25-inch screen. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, wireless in the LXS and wired in the more expensive versions, and the larger display adds navigation, SiriusXM, and Kia Connect services.
• Fuel efficiency: The GT-Line is rated at 31 mpg combined with front-wheel drive and 28 mpg combined with all-wheel drive, while the GT is rated at 27 mpg combined. Real-world testing returned 23.8 mpg on one evaluation loop and 24.5 mpg over nearly 300 miles.

Which 2024 Kia K5 trim should I buy?

The 2024 Kia K5 is offered in 4 trim levels: LXS, GT-Line, EX, and GT.

Here's the short version:

• LXS: This is the entry point, and it gives you the K5’s core style, standard safety tech, and the smaller 8-inch touchscreen. It makes sense if you want the lowest price and can live without the extra equipment found higher up.
• GT-Line: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it adds a sportier look, standard heated seats for 2024, and available all-wheel drive. It also keeps the K5’s value proposition strong without jumping all the way to the GT.
• EX: Choose this if you want a more upscale feel and more available convenience and tech features than the GT-Line. It suits you best if comfort and equipment matter more than sporty character.
• GT: This is the one to get if you want the budget sports sedan experience, with the 290-horsepower turbo engine, sport-tuned suspension, quicker steering, bigger brakes, larger wheels, and Sport+ mode with launch control.

Safety-wise, every trim gets Kia Drive Wise, while higher trims can add features such as cyclist detection, parking sensors, a surround-view camera, adaptive cruise control, and Highway Driving Assist.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Kia K5?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but should move quickly on strong listings.

• Deal availability: 31.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,741 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.85% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 84.3% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $24,792, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Kia K5's resale value?

The current average of $24,792 sits slightly below last year's $26,057.

That softer pricing suggests the K5 has become more attractive to used buyers, which can help keep demand steady. For a future seller, that means you may need to price competitively to stand out, especially if similar cars are already discounted.

The good news is that the model’s strong value reputation and broad equipment list can help support interest when it’s time to sell. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Kia K5 safe?

The 2024 Kia K5 earns Poor and Marginal ratings in updated IIHS moderate overlap frontal-impact and side-impact tests, respectively.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Every 2024 K5 has Kia Drive Wise, which includes forward collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, active blind-spot monitoring, active rear cross-traffic alert, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assistance, and safe exit warning. Standard safety equipment also includes automatic high-beam headlights, a driver monitoring system, a rear-seat reminder system, and Leading Vehicle Departure Alert.

Higher trims can add cyclist detection, automatic intersection braking, front and rear parking sensors, rear automatic braking when parking, a surround-view camera, and an active safe exit warning system. You can also equip the car with adaptive cruise control, navigation-based adaptive cruise control with curve speed control, and Highway Driving Assist.

The main caution is the updated IIHS performance, which is a meaningful concern for used buyers who prioritize crash protection.

Should I buy a 2024 Kia K5 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 31.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 84.3% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.85% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It adds standard heated seats on the GT-Line and keeps the turbocharged setup.

Consider the 2025 if:

• At $27,416, the 2025 costs more than the current year's $24,792 average.
• It brings updated styling and more standard features.

The bottom line: If you want the better value, the 2024 is the smarter buy because it combines a lower average price with strong deal availability. If you’re willing to pay more for updated styling and extra standard equipment, the 2025 is the better fit.
