Used 2024 Kia Carnival for Sale nearChicago, IL

How much does the 2024 Kia Carnival cost?

Prices have softened 9.36% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,705 listings available, which suggests you have a meaningful amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2024 Kia Carnival a good car?

Yes — the 2024 Kia Carnival earns a 4.8/5 user rating and an 8.2/10 expert rating.

The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel, Performance, Form and function, and Cost effectiveness.

It stands out as a practical family vehicle that feels more polished and distinctive than the usual minivan, with an SUV-like design and a strong driving experience. It also brings a powerful V6 and a comfortable ride, which helps it work well as a passenger-and-cargo hauler.

The trade-offs are clear: you give up hybrid efficiency and all-wheel drive, and the seats are not especially easy to fold.

With 38.7% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2024 Kia Carnival reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2024 Kia Carnival is presented as a well-rounded family hauler with Kia’s excellent warranty backing it up, which helps support confidence in ownership. Its powertrain is described as refined, with smooth shifting and a V6 that works without complaint, and the ride is tuned for comfortable, fatigue-free road trips.

Kia’s warranty coverage is a major ownership perk, and that kind of protection can reduce some long-term cost anxiety for used buyers. Even so, you should still plan on checking maintenance history carefully, since a used minivan’s durability depends heavily on how well it was maintained.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Kia Carnival?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 88% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still run a history report on any listing you like, even if it looks clean at first glance. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that checks the seats, sliding-door operation, and interior wear, since this is a family vehicle that may have seen heavy daily use. Focus on condition details that affect convenience and comfort, not just mileage.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: Base LX models get cloth seats and an 8-inch touchscreen, while EX and SX models add leatherette upholstery and a larger 12.3-inch touchscreen setup; SX Prestige trims get real leather upholstery and the most upscale feel.
• Powertrain: The Carnival uses a 3.5-liter V6 with an eight-speed automatic and front-wheel drive only, and there is no hybrid or all-wheel drive option.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-keep assist, a driver attention monitor, automatic high beams, forward collision warning, and automatic emergency braking. Higher trims add adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go, Highway Driving Assist, a surround-view camera system, and a blind-spot camera system.
• Infotainment: The base LX trim gets an 8-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, while higher trims upgrade to a 12.3-inch touchscreen and a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster with wired smartphone integration.
• Fuel efficiency: The Carnival is EPA-rated at 19 mpg city and 26 mpg highway, or 22 mpg combined.

Which 2024 Kia Carnival trim should I buy?

The 2024 Kia Carnival is offered in 4 trim levels: LX, EX, SX, SX Prestige.

Here's the short version:

• LX: This is the entry point, but it still gives you the Carnival’s core strengths, including the V6 powertrain, wireless smartphone integration, and standard driver-assistance features. It makes sense if you want the lowest price and can live without the larger screen and more upscale cabin materials.
• EX: This is the best-value choice for many shoppers because it adds leatherette upholstery and the larger 12.3-inch touchscreen setup without jumping all the way to the top trim. It’s the sweet spot if you want a nicer cabin and more tech without paying for the most luxurious version.
• SX: This trim builds on the EX with more premium equipment and is a good fit if you want a more upscale feel and more available convenience features. It’s the step to consider if you want more of the Carnival’s luxury-leaning personality.
• SX Prestige: This is the most upscale version, with real leather upholstery and the most premium presentation in the lineup. It suits you best if you want the richest interior and don’t mind paying for it.

Higher trims add more driver-assistance features, including adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go, Highway Driving Assist, a surround-view camera system, and a blind-spot camera system.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Kia Carnival?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 38.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,705 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.36% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 88.0% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $31,587, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Kia Carnival's resale value?

The current average of $31,587 sits slightly below last year's $34,849.

That decline suggests the market has become more favorable for buyers, but it also means a future seller may face a softer pricing environment than owners saw a year ago. If you buy at today’s average, your resale outlook will depend heavily on how well the vehicle holds condition over time and how much demand remains for a well-equipped family hauler.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Kia Carnival safe?

The 2024 Kia Carnival received mixed scores from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), with Good ratings in the driver and passenger-side small-overlap front crash tests and in the original moderate-overlap front and side tests, but Marginal and Poor ratings in the updated moderate-overlap front and updated side tests.

It earns a 5/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard safety equipment includes blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-keep assist, a driver attention monitor, automatic high beams, forward collision warning, and automatic emergency braking. Higher trims add adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go, Highway Driving Assist, a surround-view camera system, and a blind-spot camera system.

The main caution is that the safety picture is uneven, especially because the updated IIHS results are weaker and the headlights are rated poorly on all but the SX Prestige trim.

Should I buy a 2024 Kia Carnival or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 38.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 88% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.36% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• Ahead of a 2025-model-year refresh, it carries over unchanged with strong driving dynamics and excellent warranty coverage.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $27,703, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $31,587 average.
• It offers stylish minivan practicality with strong value and a more upscale look.

The bottom line: If you want the stronger current-market mix of price trend, inventory, and unchanged 2024 content, this year makes sense. If your priority is spending less up front, the 2023 is the better value play.
