How much does the 2024 Hyundai Tucson cost?

Prices have held steady compared to this time last year, signaling a stable and predictable market for this model year.

With 7,813 listings available, you have a healthy amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2024 Hyundai Tucson a good car?

Yes — the 2024 Hyundai Tucson earns a 4.6/5 user rating and an 8.5/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Safety at 10/10.

Owners consistently praise its great features, sleek design, and value for money, and many also like the spacious interior and modern technology. The Tucson’s broad appeal comes through in its well-rounded mission: it aims to cover the everyday needs of compact-SUV shoppers rather than chase one narrow specialty.

The trade-offs are worth noting. The infotainment system can be frustrating, and the powertrain is described as disappointing in some respects.

With a 34.8% share of listings marked as good or great deals, you still have room to shop carefully for the right example.

Is the 2024 Hyundai Tucson reliable?

Owners rate it 4.6/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a vehicle that feels dependable in daily use, with strong value, a modern interior, and the kind of feature set that tends to keep owners happy over time. The expert evaluation also emphasizes that the Tucson is a well-rounded SUV, with comfort, space, and technology working together in a way that supports easy ownership.

Hyundai’s 10-year/100,000-mile powertrain warranty adds another layer of confidence for used buyers.

For a used purchase, the main long-term risk is less about outright durability and more about whether the specific vehicle has been maintained well and whether you can live with the powertrain and infotainment compromises.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Hyundai Tucson?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 88.2% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still run a history report on every candidate, even if the listing looks clean at first glance. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection if you’re considering a higher-mileage example or one with incomplete service records. Focus on overall condition, because the Tucson’s value proposition depends heavily on getting the features and cabin quality you expect.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The SE starts with 17-inch alloy wheels, roof rails, an 8-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a manually adjustable driver’s seat. The SEL adds push-button start, a power-adjustable driver’s seat, dual-zone automatic climate control, wireless device charging, and two more USB ports. The XRT adds unique black 19-inch alloy wheels, side steps, dark exterior trim, functional roof racks, and features from the SEL Convenience Package. The Limited adds ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, a heated steering wheel, genuine leather upholstery, a panoramic sunroof, an upgraded Bose premium stereo system, and memory settings for the driver’s seat.
• Powertrain: The Tucson uses a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine with 187 horsepower and 178 pound-feet of torque, paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission and front-wheel drive or available all-wheel drive. It is the only non-hybrid powertrain offered, and the expert evaluation says it can feel underwhelming when you need stronger acceleration.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, pedestrian and cyclist detection, adaptive cruise control, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, automatic high beams, driver attention monitoring, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert. The Limited adds front and rear parking sensors, a 360-degree parking camera system, Hyundai’s Smart Park remote-parking feature, and a blind-spot camera system.
• Infotainment: The base system uses an 8-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and wireless Android Auto. Higher trims with the SEL Convenience Package, XRT, and Limited get a larger 10.25-inch touchscreen and a fully digital instrument panel, but they lose wireless smartphone connectivity.
• Fuel efficiency: The front-wheel-drive model returns 25 mpg city, 32 mpg highway, and 28 mpg combined. The all-wheel-drive model returns 23 mpg city, 29 mpg highway, and 25 mpg combined.

Which 2024 Hyundai Tucson trim should I buy?

The 2024 Hyundai Tucson is offered in 4 trim levels: SE, SEL, XRT, and Limited.

Here's the short version:

• SE: This is the value play if you want the lowest entry point and still want wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, an 8-inch touchscreen, roof rails, and a solid standard safety suite. It gives you the essentials without pushing the price up.
• SEL: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds push-button start, a power-adjustable driver’s seat, dual-zone climate control, wireless charging, and more USB ports. If you want a more comfortable daily driver without jumping too far up the price ladder, this is the one to focus on.
• XRT: Choose this if you want the more rugged-looking appearance and the added equipment from the SEL Convenience Package, including synthetic leather upholstery and a larger touchscreen with navigation. It’s the style-forward choice in the lineup.
• Limited: This is the most luxurious version, with ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, a heated steering wheel, genuine leather upholstery, a panoramic sunroof, a Bose stereo, and memory settings. It also adds the most advanced parking and camera features.

The Limited also gets the extra safety and parking tech, including front and rear parking sensors, a 360-degree camera system, Smart Park, and a blind-spot camera system.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Hyundai Tucson?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage but still need to move quickly on the right listing.

• Deal availability: 34.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 7,813 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 88.2% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $21,539, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Hyundai Tucson's resale value?

The current average of $23,483 sits slightly above last year's $23,332.

That small increase suggests the Tucson has held its value fairly well, which is a good sign if you plan to sell later. A stable price trend usually means the market sees this model year as a dependable, in-demand used SUV rather than one that is losing appeal quickly.

Because the Tucson also has a strong share of accident-free listings and a broad buyer base, it should remain relatively easy to market when it’s time to move on. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.6/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Hyundai Tucson safe?

The 2024 Tucson earns a Good overall IIHS result in most phases of crash testing, an Acceptable score for its standard headlights, and a Superior score for crash-prevention technology. It also earns five-star ratings in a frontal crash test and four-star ratings in a rollover test from NHTSA.

It earns a 10/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard driver assistance includes automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, pedestrian and cyclist detection, adaptive cruise control, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, automatic high beams, driver attention monitoring, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert. The Limited trim adds front and rear parking sensors, a 360-degree parking camera system, Smart Park remote parking, and a blind-spot camera system.

Should I buy a 2024 Hyundai Tucson or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 34.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 88.2% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.6/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The expert verdict says the Tucson is a well-rounded small SUV and a good value.

The bottom line: The 2024 Tucson is the right pick if you want a balanced compact SUV with strong safety, good space, and a stable used market. If you’re especially price-sensitive, you can also compare nearby model years to see whether a lower asking price outweighs any feature differences, but the 2024 remains a sensible target if you want a broad mix of value and equipment.
