How much does the 2024 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid cost?

Prices have softened 1.93% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 465 listings available, which suggests you should have a workable selection to compare.

Is the 2024 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid a good car?

Yes — the 2024 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid earns a 5/5 user rating and an 8.5/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel, Form and function, and Safety.

It’s presented as a fuel-efficient midsize sedan with a mid-generation refresh, and the standard feature set is a major part of its appeal. The real automatic transmission is a standout advantage, especially in a segment where many hybrids rely on a CVT. It also brings standard wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, which helps it feel well equipped from the start.

The main trade-off is that all-wheel drive is not available, so if that capability matters to you, this isn’t the right fit. The brake feel is also described as grabbier than ideal, which is worth noting if you prioritize a very smooth pedal response.

With 37.2% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a decent chance of finding a competitive price if you shop carefully.

Is the 2024 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The Sonata Hybrid is framed as a practical family sedan with a manageable size, good fuel economy, and a standard feature set that should make day-to-day ownership straightforward. Its real automatic transmission also stands out as a durability and drivability advantage compared with the CVT setups common in the segment.

The hybrid powertrain is described as efficient and easy to live with, and the car’s standard safety and convenience features support a low-stress ownership experience. If you’re buying used, the main long-term risk to watch is whether the car has been maintained well enough to preserve the benefits of its hybrid system and braking setup.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 91.6% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a vehicle history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re comparing multiple listings. Focus on overall condition, feature operation, and signs of uneven wear so you can separate a clean example from one that has been neglected.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The standard setup already includes strong safety and convenience equipment, but the Limited adds the turn-signal-activated blind-spot-view monitor, surround-view monitor, navigation, natural language voice recognition, a 12-speaker Bose premium audio system, Highway Driving Assist, and Remote Smart Parking Assist.
• Powertrain: The hybrid uses a 2.0-liter inline four-cylinder engine and electric motor for 192 horsepower, routed through a true six-speed automatic transmission. It is front-wheel drive only, and the hybrid is rated at 47 mpg combined.
• Safety package: Blind-spot collision warning with rear cross-traffic collision-avoidance assist is standard, along with forward collision-avoidance assist, safe exit warning and assist, lane-following and lane-keep assist, adaptive cruise control with stop and go functionality, automatic emergency braking, and rear occupant alert. The Limited trim gets the blind-spot-view monitor and surround-view monitor.
• Infotainment: Every trim gets the curved display, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a wireless charging pad, HD Radio, Sirius XM, and two rear-seat USB charging ports. The Limited adds navigation, natural language voice recognition, and the 12-speaker Bose system.
• Fuel efficiency: The EPA rates it at 44 mpg city, 51 mpg highway, and 47 mpg combined.

Which 2024 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid trim should I buy?

The 2024 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid is offered in 2 trim levels: SEL and Limited.

Here's the short version:

• SEL: This is the trim to target if you want the best value. It already gives you the hybrid powertrain, the curved display, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a wireless charging pad, and the core safety suite, so you get most of the important equipment without paying for the top trim.
• Limited: Choose this if you want the most complete version of the Sonata Hybrid. It adds the blind-spot-view monitor, surround-view monitor, navigation, natural language voice recognition, the 12-speaker Bose audio system, Highway Driving Assist, and Remote Smart Parking Assist.

The Limited is the only trim with the extra safety-view and advanced driver-assistance features.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient.

• Deal availability: 37.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 465 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 1.93% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 91.6% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $25,890, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid's resale value?

The current average of $25,930 sits slightly below last year's $26,441.

That softer pricing suggests the model has become a bit more buyer-friendly in the used market, which can help future sellers if demand stays steady. The current range also shows that values are still holding within a fairly tight band, which is a sign of relative stability rather than a sharp drop.

If you buy well now, you may have a better chance of limiting depreciation compared with a vehicle that is still priced above its recent trend. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid safe?

The 2024 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

It comes with a strong standard safety package that includes blind-spot collision warning with rear cross-traffic collision-avoidance assist, forward collision-avoidance assist, safe exit warning and assist, lane-following and lane-keep assist, adaptive cruise control with stop and go functionality, automatic emergency braking, and rear occupant alert.

The Limited trim adds the turn-signal-activated blind-spot-view monitor, surround-view monitor, Highway Driving Assist, and Remote Smart Parking Assist. If you want the fullest safety and driver-assistance setup, that trim is the one to target.

Should I buy a 2024 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 37.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 91.6% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 1.93% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It gets a mid-generation refresh with styling and tech updates, plus a real automatic transmission that stands out in the hybrid midsize-sedan segment.

The bottom line: If you want the refreshed version with strong standard equipment, good market availability, and a favorable price trend, the 2024 is the primary path to consider. If you’re especially price-sensitive, you can also use the current market softness to compare listings carefully and focus on the cleanest, best-equipped example rather than stretching for a newer alternative.
