How much does the 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe cost?

Prices have softened 10.16% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 5,432 listings available, which suggests you have a healthy amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe a good car?

Yes — the 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe earns a 5/5 user rating and an 8.2/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel, Form and function, and Technology.

The Santa Fe’s redesign gives you a bold, blocky profile, a longer wheelbase, and a more substantial feel than before. It also leans hard into technology and premium presentation, which fits a family SUV that wants to stand out while staying practical.

The trade-offs are clear: the third row is cramped, performance is pedestrian, and top trims get expensive. If you want a distinctive, well-equipped SUV with a strong feature set, it makes sense; if you prioritize quick acceleration or maximum third-row comfort, you may want to look elsewhere.

37.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which is a decent sign that value opportunities are out there.

Is the 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The Santa Fe is presented as a well-rounded redesign with a strong emphasis on standard equipment and modern usability. Its powertrain is described as smooth and mostly stable, and the overall package is framed as successful rather than experimental.

The performance notes also point to a 2.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder with an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic, plus available hybrid power later in the model year. That gives you multiple paths depending on whether you want conventional gas power or better efficiency.

If you’re buying used, the main long-term risk is choosing a trim or configuration that doesn’t match your needs, especially if you expect strong acceleration or maximum space from the third row.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 88.8% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the history report carefully and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re considering a higher-mileage example or a trim with more equipment. Focus on interior condition, electronics, and how well the vehicle’s features operate, since this model leans heavily on technology.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The SE starts with a strong safety and tech foundation, while the SEL adds synthetic leather upholstery, heated front seats, a power-adjustable driver’s seat, the curved panoramic display, a wireless smartphone charger, and an upgraded rear occupant alert system that senses occupants. The XRT adds dark chrome and black cladding and trim, plus a more rugged look, while Limited and Calligraphy versions bring larger wheels and a more upscale presentation.
• Powertrain: You get a 2.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder with 277 horsepower and 311 pound-feet of torque, paired with an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic. Front-wheel drive is standard, all-wheel drive is optional, and the XRT gets AWD standard. A hybrid with a 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder and six-speed automatic is also part of the lineup later in the model year.
• Safety package: The base SE includes a reversing camera, stop-and-go adaptive cruise control, forward collision-avoidance assist, intersection assist, pedestrian and cyclist detection, blind-spot monitors, rear cross-traffic alert with automatic emergency braking, safe-exit assist, lane-keep assist, lane-following assist, driver-attention monitoring with hands-off alert, and a rear-occupant reminder system. The SEL adds an upgraded rear-occupant reminder system, forward-attention warning, and side-view mirrors with turn signals. The XRT adds Hyundai’s highway limited hands-free driving system, while Limited and Calligraphy add more advanced camera and parking features.
• Infotainment: The cabin centers on a curved panoramic display in XRT, Limited, and Calligraphy trims. The system includes wireless Apple CarPlay and wireless Android Auto, a 12-speaker Bose stereo, dynamic voice recognition, a Wi-Fi hot spot, and six USB ports. SE and SEL trims use a simpler 12.3-inch touchscreen, and all but the base SE get wireless charging.
• Fuel efficiency: The gas model is rated at 20 mpg city, 29 mpg highway, and 24 mpg combined in FWD form, with AWD dropping to 20/28/23. The XRT is rated at 19/26/22. The hybrid is rated at 36 mpg city, 35 mpg highway, and 36 mpg combined with FWD, or 35/34/34 with AWD.

Which 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe trim should I buy?

The 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe is offered in 5 trim levels: SE, SEL, XRT, Limited, Calligraphy.

Here's the short version:

• SE: This is the value starting point, and it already gives you a long list of standard safety and driver-assistance features. It makes sense if you want the lowest entry price and don’t need the extra cabin polish or convenience upgrades.
• SEL: This is the best-value trim. For a modest step up, you get synthetic leather upholstery, heated front seats, a power-adjustable driver’s seat, the curved panoramic display, a wireless smartphone charger, and an upgraded rear occupant alert system that senses occupants.
• XRT: Choose this if you want the more rugged look and the added capability of standard AWD, plus off-road modes and settings. It also adds Hyundai’s highway limited hands-free driving system.
• Limited: This trim is for you if you want a more upscale Santa Fe with a 360-degree camera system, blind-spot view monitor, rain-sensing windshield wipers, parking sensors, reverse parking collision assist, remote automatic parking, and a sanitizing compartment in the glovebox.
• Calligraphy: This is the luxury-leaning choice, with a widescreen head-up display and upgraded blind-spot and forward collision avoidance systems. It’s the most decadent version, but it also pushes the price into territory that will be too rich for many shoppers.

The safety package is especially strong across the lineup, and the base trim already includes a broad set of driver-assistance features.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient.

• Deal availability: 37.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 5,432 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.16% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 88.8% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $30,159, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe's resale value?

The current average of $30,159 sits slightly below last year's $33,570.

That softer pricing can help you as a buyer now, but it also means future sellers may face a more competitive market if values continue to ease. If you buy at the right price today, you reduce the risk of taking a bigger depreciation hit later.

The Santa Fe’s strong equipment list and broad appeal should help support demand, especially for well-kept examples with desirable trims and clean history. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe safe?

The 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe has not yet been crash-tested by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety or National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Hyundai gives you a broad standard safety suite on the base SE, including adaptive cruise control, forward collision-avoidance assist, intersection assist, pedestrian and cyclist detection, blind-spot monitors, rear cross-traffic alert with automatic emergency braking, lane-keep assist, lane-following assist, driver-attention monitoring, and a rear-occupant reminder system.

The SEL adds an upgraded rear-occupant reminder system, forward-attention warning, and side-view mirrors with turn signals. The XRT adds Hyundai’s highway limited hands-free driving system, while Limited and Calligraphy bring more advanced camera and parking tech. The loaded Calligraphy also adds a widescreen head-up display and upgraded blind-spot and forward collision avoidance systems.

Should I buy a 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 37.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 88.8% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.16% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The redesign brings bold styling, a longer wheelbase, and a more premium-feeling cabin.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $23,857, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $30,159 average.
• It emphasizes value, standard safety features, and easy-to-use technology.

Consider the 2025 if:

• At $31,555, the 2025 costs more than the current year's $30,159 average.
• It adds more interior space and a broader family-friendly feature set.

The bottom line: If you want the newest design and a strong mix of style, tech, and standard safety, the 2024 is the better target. If price matters most, the 2023 is the smarter budget play.
