Hyundai offers a more-powerful 201-horsepower version, but both get 188 pound-feet of torque. There should be no expectation of thrilling performance with either setup, as the Kona’s acceleration is leisurely, no matter how it’s configured. The materials quality is better and the design is more appealing, and Hyundai retained the car’s excellent interior space. The gear selector and other controls have been moved to the steering column and center stack, clearing the console for storage space.
