What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Hyundai IONIQ 5?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 93.7% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a vehicle history report and verify that the car’s condition matches the listing photos and description. Focus on overall condition, charging behavior, and any signs that the vehicle has been used hard rather than simply relying on the clean-inventory rate.

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 37.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.

What is the 2024 Hyundai IONIQ 5's resale value?

The current average of $27,431 sits slightly below last year's $30,650.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can work against a future seller if you buy at the wrong point in the cycle. On the other hand, the current softness may help you enter at a more favorable price, which can reduce your depreciation exposure later. Strong owner satisfaction can help support demand when it’s time to sell, especially for a model that already has a loyal following.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2024 Hyundai IONIQ 5 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 37.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 93.7% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.50% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2025 if:

• It adds a new adventure-ready trim.

The bottom line: The 2024 is the better primary choice if you want a well-liked EV with strong owner satisfaction, good inventory depth, and a softer price trend. If you’re especially price-sensitive, the 2024 also makes sense because the market has already moved down from last year, giving you a better chance to find value without stretching into a newer model year.
