Used 2024 Hyundai Elantra for Sale nearBuffalo, NY

How much does the 2024 Hyundai Elantra cost?

Prices have softened 5.45% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 6,168 listings available, which suggests you should have a healthy number of options to compare.

Is the 2024 Hyundai Elantra a good car?

The 2024 Hyundai Elantra is a mixed but appealing choice if you want a compact sedan that emphasizes style, variety, and value over luxury polish. It earns a 3/5 user rating and a 7.33/10 expert rating, and the model scores 8/10 across Performance, Form and function, and Cost effectiveness.

The Elantra’s strengths are clear in the data: it offers multiple powertrain options, a manual transmission, and a refreshed design that adds more style and standard equipment for 2024. It also aims to be comfortable, economical, and sporty at the same time, which makes it more versatile than a basic commuter sedan.

The trade-offs are just as clear. The base engine is described as underwhelming, the design may not suit everyone, and the interior materials can feel cheap.

With 36.1% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a decent chance of finding a competitive price if you shop carefully.

Is the 2024 Hyundai Elantra reliable?

The 2024 Hyundai Elantra is positioned as a well-sorted compact sedan with a strong value pitch, and the expert data backs up that it’s meant to be easy to live with. The performance notes point to a broad lineup with efficient everyday drivetrains, while the cost-effectiveness content highlights three years of maintenance and a five-year/60,000-mile warranty on every Elantra.

That maintenance coverage is a meaningful ownership perk if you’re trying to keep early running costs predictable.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that a cheaper example may have been chosen for price rather than condition, so service history and wear matter a lot.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Hyundai Elantra?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 84.2% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the report carefully, because a clean listing percentage does not replace a proper history review. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection if you’re considering a higher-mileage car or one with visible cosmetic wear. Focus on how the cabin, controls, and drivetrain feel in real use, since the data points to a car whose strengths depend heavily on trim and equipment level.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The SE, SEL, and Limited trims differ meaningfully in appearance and equipment, and the base SE misses some of the custom gauge layouts found on upper trims. The SE, SEL, and Limited also lose the lowered stance and sporty bumpers seen on the N Line, which makes them look less distinctive.
• Powertrain: The common 2.0-liter four-cylinder with 147 horsepower and 132 pound-feet is adequate around town but weak and loud on the highway. The N Line’s 1.6-liter turbo-four with 201 hp and 195 lb-ft is the stronger everyday upgrade, while the Elantra Hybrid uses a 1.6-liter Atkinson-cycle engine, a battery pack, and a single electric motor for strong efficiency.
• Safety package: The SE and N come standard with forward automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, lane-keep assist, a driver attention monitor, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, and auto high beams. SEL trims with the Convenience Package and Limited trims add cyclist detection, front cross-traffic alert, and adaptive cruise control, while the Limited adds rear emergency braking, a 360-degree camera system, front and rear parking sensors, and Highway Driving Assist.
• Infotainment: The SE uses an 8-inch touchscreen, while SEL-and-above trims get a 10.25-inch screen. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are not supported, but the system is quick and customizable. Blind-spot cameras are available only on the Limited trim, and Highway Driving Assist is standard only on the Limited.
• Fuel efficiency: The base SE is rated at 32/41/36 mpg, the SEL and Limited at 31/40/34 mpg, the N Line at 28/35/31 mpg, and the Elantra Hybrid Blue at 51 mpg city, 58 mpg highway, and 54 mpg combined.

Which 2024 Hyundai Elantra trim should I buy?

The 2024 Hyundai Elantra is offered in 7 trim levels: SE, SEL, Limited, N Line, Elantra Hybrid Blue, Elantra Hybrid Limited, and N.

Here's the short version:

• SE: This is the entry point, and it makes sense if you want the lowest-cost way into the Elantra lineup. You get the core safety equipment and the smaller 8-inch touchscreen, but you give up some of the nicer tech and visual polish found higher up.
• SEL: This is the best-value choice for many shoppers because it adds more standard equipment without jumping all the way to the pricier trims. It’s the trim to target if you want a balanced mix of everyday usability and features.
• Limited: This is the most feature-rich mainstream trim, with the larger touchscreen, blind-spot cameras, Highway Driving Assist, and the most complete safety and convenience package. It suits you best if you want the most polished non-performance Elantra.
• N Line: This is the trim to choose if you want the most engaging gas-powered Elantra without going all the way to the full performance model. It adds the turbocharged engine, quicker responses, and a more athletic feel.
• Elantra Hybrid Blue: This is the efficiency-focused choice if fuel economy is your top priority. It’s the trim to consider if you want the strongest mpg numbers in the lineup.
• Elantra Hybrid Limited: This is the upscale hybrid choice if you want efficiency and more premium equipment together. It makes sense if you want the hybrid powertrain without giving up comfort and convenience features.
• N: This is the full performance model, and it’s the one to buy if you want the most power and the most serious driving character in the lineup.

The Limited trim gets the most advanced safety and driver-assistance content, including Highway Driving Assist.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Hyundai Elantra?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient and compare listings carefully.

• Deal availability: 36.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 6,168 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.45% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 84.2% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $19,467, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Hyundai Elantra's resale value?

The current average of $19,519 sits slightly below last year's $20,644.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled enough to help buyers now, but it also means sellers may need to be realistic about expectations. If you plan to resell later, the Elantra’s value will likely depend heavily on trim, condition, and mileage rather than the badge alone.

The good news is that the current pricing is still supported by broad demand and a large listing pool. The downside for a future seller is that a softer market can make it harder to command top dollar unless your car is especially clean and well equipped.

Is the 2024 Hyundai Elantra safe?

The 2024 Elantra earns a five-star overall rating from NHTSA, with four-star ratings for the front passenger and five-star ratings for the driver and for front and rear passengers in two side tests. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety named it a Top Safety Pick.

It earns a 6/10 safety score from our experts.

The standard safety suite includes forward automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, lane-keep assist, a driver attention monitor, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, and auto high beams. SEL trims with the Convenience Package and Limited trims add cyclist detection, front cross-traffic alert, and adaptive cruise control, while the Limited adds rear emergency braking, a 360-degree camera system, front and rear parking sensors, and Highway Driving Assist.

There are also some caveats to keep in mind. The IIHS did not perform all of its standard crash tests, and its newer frontal crash test showed worse results than the 2021 Elantra. Rear passengers had a higher risk of injury despite added rear side airbags, and there are no frontal knee airbags.

Should I buy a 2024 Hyundai Elantra or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 36.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 84.2% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.45% compared with last year.
• The 2024 refresh adds more style and standard equipment.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $18,873, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $19,519 average.
• It offers a wide range of practical, efficient, and tech-friendly choices.

The bottom line: If you want the newer refresh, broader current inventory, and a stronger chance of finding a good deal, the 2024 is the better target. If your priority is saving money up front, the 2023 is the smarter value play, especially if you find one in clean condition with the equipment you want.
