Yes — you rate it 5/5, and our experts give it 7.3/10. The standout strength is Form and function at 10/10.

The Ridgeline’s use-case is clear: it works well as a daily driver and a practical truck for modest tasks. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that newer rivals offer more capability and fresher designs.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Honda Ridgeline?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 87% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the history report carefully, because accident-free listings are not the same as problem-free listings. Prioritize a thorough inspection of the transmission behavior, cabin electronics, and overall condition, especially if you plan to use the truck for daily driving. It also makes sense to confirm that the features you want are present on the trim you’re considering.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: Four versions are available: Sport, RTL, TrailSport, and Black Edition. The Sport gets the new wireless smartphone features and the standard safety upgrades, while the TrailSport adds off-road suspension, all-terrain tires, and underbody protection. The Black Edition adds HD Radio, extra USB ports, and an eight-speaker premium sound system.
• Powertrain: Every Ridgeline uses a 3.5-liter V6 with 280 horsepower, a nine-speed automatic transmission, and torque-vectoring all-wheel drive. It is smooth and quick on the road, but towing capacity is limited to 5,000 pounds and off-road clearance is modest.
• Safety package: Honda Sensing is standard and includes forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist with road departure mitigation, lane-centering assist, adaptive cruise control, and automatic high-beam headlights. Blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert is standard on the Sport, and it was previously reserved for the RTL.
• Infotainment: Every model gets a 9-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay, wireless Android Auto, wireless smartphone charging, and a faster processor. The system also includes a 7-inch digital display in the gauge cluster.
• Fuel efficiency: The truck returned 19.4 mpg in testing, and the official combined figure is 20 mpg.

Which 2024 Honda Ridgeline trim should I buy?

The 2024 Honda Ridgeline is offered in 4 trim levels: Sport, RTL, TrailSport, and Black Edition.

Here's the short version:

• Sport: This is the best-value choice because it gets the updated 9-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay, wireless Android Auto, wireless charging, and the standard Honda Sensing safety suite. It also now includes blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, which makes the entry trim easier to recommend.
• RTL: Choose this if you want a more upscale feel and the available brown leather interior color mentioned in the cabin updates. It builds on the Sport’s core strengths without changing the Ridgeline’s easygoing character.
• TrailSport: This is the trim to pick if you want the most distinctive look and the added off-road suspension, all-terrain tires, and underbody protection. It suits you best if you value the tougher appearance and occasional trail use more than maximum road comfort.
• Black Edition: Pick this if you want the most premium audio and extra convenience features, including HD Radio, extra USB ports, and an eight-speaker premium sound system. It is the most upscale version, but the Sport remains the best-value trim.

Blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are standard on the Sport, which is a welcome safety-package upgrade.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Honda Ridgeline?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so it pays to compare listings carefully and move quickly on strong examples.

• Deal availability: 38.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,473 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.85% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 87.0% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $33,909, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Honda Ridgeline's resale value?

The current average of $33,909 sits slightly below last year's $35,638.

That softer pricing suggests the Ridgeline is currently more buyer-friendly than seller-friendly. If you own one, you may need to price competitively to stand out, especially because the market has already adjusted downward. On the other hand, the truck’s practical reputation and strong owner satisfaction should help support demand over time.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Honda Ridgeline safe?

The 2024 Honda Ridgeline earns an Acceptable score in the IIHS small overlap frontal-impact test and a Marginal rating for its headlights. It earns five-star ratings across the board except for rollover resistance, where it scores a four-star rating from NHTSA.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Honda Sensing is standard and includes forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist with road departure mitigation, lane-centering assist, adaptive cruise control, and automatic high-beam headlights. Blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert is also standard on the Sport. The main caveat is that the driver-assistance tech can feel less smooth and confidence-inspiring than it should, and the IIHS results show the truck’s age.

Should I buy a 2024 Honda Ridgeline or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 38.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 87% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.85% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2024 update adds a TrailSport trim, modernized tech, and improved cabin practicality.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $30,897, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $33,909 average.
• It emphasizes everyday usability and practicality over bragging rights.

Consider the 2025 if:

• At $35,524, the 2025 costs more than the current year's $33,909 average.
• It carries over unchanged after the 2024 updates.

The bottom line: If you want the most updated Ridgeline, the 2024 is the smart pick. If price matters most, the 2023 is the value play, while the 2025 makes sense only if you want the same formula and are fine paying more.
